  1. QUOTE (presto123 @ Sep 15 2012, 12:30 AM) QUOTE (The Trees @ Sep 14 2012, 10:52 PM) Between the Wheels, Stick It Out, and Far Cry would be my choices. Between The Wheels? WTF. That is Alex's best solo of all time.
  2. lovely pic here of Ged at the Bristow show... http://www.rushshowphotos.com/Rush2012/Bri...kTxBMB&lb=1&s=L
  3. Setlist A is just about perfect...all they need now is to replace that silly Where's My Thing with Middletown Dreams...
  4. QUOTE (Jomboni @ Sep 12 2012, 08:50 AM) It would be absolutely perfect if Seven Cities replaced Wish Them Well both nights, but I'm not going to complain over 1 song.
  5. QUOTE (thizzellewashington @ Sep 11 2012, 09:26 PM) I don't think the book is good enough to warrant a movie. Which isn't to say I wouldn't see it in a theater and buy it on blu-ray if they made one. Come on...If hollywood will make movies from those silly Nicholas Sparks books, then they should make a movie based off of CA...just sayin
  6. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 11 2012, 01:50 PM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 11 2012, 04:21 PM) QUOTE (rushbabe @ Sep 11 2012, 04:50 PM) Where's My Thing...take it off plz Absolutely NOT how so many ppl can like a song that sounds like it should have been on a richard simmons work out video is beyond me....
  7. QUOTE (The Mighty Dudad @ Sep 11 2012, 06:30 PM) Well, if you are in Pittsburgh tonight, you're getting them both! Per RIAB and other thread here, SCOG replaced WTW tonight. Awesome...this is what they should have done in the first place. WTW sucks...I hope they keep this change in the setlist

  9. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Sep 11 2012, 07:14 PM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 11 2012, 07:40 PM) Seven Cities of Gold replaced Wish Them Well tonight! I hope this change is permanent. Ditto on that sir...
  10. QUOTE (greg2112 @ May 31 2012, 02:39 AM) There are few things more irritating when youre at a show and some killjoy behind you keeps yelling to sit down. Total load of bullshit. I totally agree...this happened to me at the TMT show in Greensboro. Total BS
  11. I've gotten to chapter 12 so far. I mainly got it so I could hear Neil giving voice to the many themes behind CA the album. My review is prolly biased because im such a fangirl. So far I love it. Neil does a good job using tone of voice, infliction and pitch to let you know when the narrator is speaking versus characters in the story. I also feel that he has done a good job getting into character for Owen Hardy, The Pedlar, The Watchmaker, The Anarchist, The Carnies etc...Also the little Rush references sprinkled throughout the story make me giggle. XD
  12. QUOTE (limeloaf @ Sep 9 2012, 08:22 PM) QUOTE (rushbabe @ Sep 9 2012, 11:20 PM) I combined my favorite songs from Set A and Set B. Here's what I came up with as a wishlist set. First Set Subdivisions The Big Money Force Ten Grand Designs The Body Electric Territories The Analog Kid Bravado Middletown Dreams Far Cry Second Set Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies The Wreckers Headlong Flight Halo Effect Seven Cities of Gold The Garden Manhattan Project Red Sector A YYZ Working Man Finale Spirit of the Radio 2112 Looks good to me. The Pass is a gorgeous tune though. Can't have everything I guess. Bravado has the edge for me, because I think of the Rush in Rio rendition. Had alot of emotion in it, especially Alex's extended guitar solo. Beautiful...
  13. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 9 2012, 07:54 PM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 8 2012, 10:27 PM) This band has well over 170 songs in their catalog and each and every one of them is a personal favorite for SOMEBODY. There is somebody out there who LOVES Stupidconductor. There is somebody out there who LOVES You Bet Your Life There is somebody out there who LOVES Dog Years and Virtuality. Point me in their direction so I can slap them. Hey I love all those songs...you gonna slap my ass?!? LOL

  15. QUOTE (Bangster of Goats @ Sep 9 2012, 07:30 PM) Yeah it's kinda tough. I definitely prefer The Pass over Bravado. But I prefer Carnies over Seven Cities, and Manhattan Project over Dreamline. The rest are kinda coin flippers and I don't care either way. If the A-B pattern holds up, my town gets a B... but I'm not expecting the pattern to hold really. A C or D setlist could sneak in, or they could just kinda mix A and B after a point and have the same setlist for the remainder of the tour. I'm hoping as time goes by the guys will blend the 2 setlists. And please for the love of Ged take out "Where's My Thing"!!! Reminds me of a Richard Simmons work out video.
  16. I fell in love with this song on first listen, and haven't gotten tired of it yet...
  17. I'd like to hear nobody's hero with strings...
  18. Saw this on RIAB "As was mentioned last week, the album (Clockwork Angels) has also been nominated for Album of the Year in the 2012 Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards, and Rush is up for Band of the Year as well." You can vote for Rush here: ClassicRock Magazine Awards
  19. I ended up going with Cold Fire....both songs can be emotional. But i remember hearing "Cold Fire" for the first time and I was like "man this intro rocks...wait...its a love song?!?" That did it for me. The most rocking Rush love song of all time. I would love to hear it live...
  20. If CA had the same production that S&A has, I would like it more. CA's mix got all screwed up.
  21. QUOTE (Gompers @ Aug 23 2012, 09:15 AM) QUOTE (tommyali @ Aug 23 2012, 12:47 PM) you are right, sorry. no need to imply the "brainwashing". I'm just surprised how many people are bashing S&A. We are Rush fans right? I never bashed CA. I really think that S&A is better. Mix, by far. CA is muddy. IMO. I can honestly say I am disappointed as a whole. Just listened to S&A again. What a beautiful album! Let 'em bash S&A. Chances are they liked VT quite a bit too. I like the musical maturity of S&A, where CA seems like the band trying to be 20 again, which would work great if they were 20. With S&A, they branched out as the musicians they are, got outside the box, like they have always been known for. Many songs sound like new Rush. They used themselves for most of the album to find something different and creative. With CA, they had Nick cheer-leading them to sound like the old days, and then he messed up the mix. CA has some great songs, like the title track and Headlong Flight, but from a dynamic perspective, the wall of sound encumbers those subtle things Rush has done so well in the past. It should be evident to Nick now that Rush is not Foo Fighters.
  22. " Good News First" def has some smexy vocal parts from Geddy. "Slipping" from my favorite headache is full of emotion I can hear the regret. The break in Open Secrets where he sings " You could try to understand me, I could try to understand you" actually the whole song I love, now that im thinking about it. Cold Fire has a cynical passion to it that Geddy conveys very well.
