  1. Yes, there was that option. I opted for mail, and my VIP pre-sale ticket arrived today from TM.
  2. So weird ... I keep searching various venues and getting the "tickets not avaiolable at this time" message, two hours after they went onsale. That's never happened to me before. Usually enough folks have given up by then that you can at least pull crappy seats ...
  3. 1 1/2 hours after going on sale, and ATL still shows: We were unable to process your request. Try again later.
  4. Been trying for Dallas regular sale, now 23 minutes after they went onsale and it still says: High demand! No matches...
  5. Yes, I think Tampa pre-sale sold out. When you look at the "buy on the map" option, there are no seats still showing available. But it's ok, they'll be available on eBay shortly for $2,000 each or more.
  6. I saw a few tickets for ATL in the section right in front of the lawn, but nothing in the Orchestra section.
  7. Disappointing to see the VIP tickets go up for resale almost immediately at 5-10 times the face price on broker sites.
  8. Honestly, I preferred the VIP format from previous tours, where you had to attend the show (could not resell tickets from VIP) and pick up the tickets at Will Call. That format shook out the ticket resellers and the guys in their underwear in Haweaii buying tickets for ATL just to resell on eBay. The real fans got the tickets. I now consider myself very, very fortunate to have gotten good seats in the VIP sale for ATL. I think the word got out that VIP for Rush this time (via TM) could be resold, so a TON more folks showed up to buy in the pre-sales this round.
  9. Depends on who is selling the tickets. Ticketmaster will tell you where the seats are when you buy them and send you the tickets. If it is not a Ticketmaster VIP pre-sale, then it will be the same as previous tours for VIP: you will find out your seat on the day of the show, and you cannot sell it.
  10. 10 minute wait to find out no tickets are available at the price range you are looking for -- trying again, another 10 minute wait. Glad I got tickets for my primary show in the VIP pre-sale!
  11. 1. Be ready to go at EXACTLY the start time for the sales. Click on the link and then DO NOT hit refresh or you will lose your place in line. 2. Remember that, if you are hoping for pit tickets (or similar), there are only a very few of those and a whole lot of people trying for them. Be cautious throwing back good tickets to get something better unless youo are willing to miss out completely and just get general sale tickets. 3. If you have the means and the will to do the VIP tickets, don't try to get pre-sale tickets to save money with the plan of going to get the VIP tickets if it doesn't work out. The 1st 10 row VIP tickets will go pretty fast. 4. Good luck. P.S. I was able to get 4th row Pit tickets, so it can be done.
  12. What we know at this point is, they have said this will be the last tour of this magnitude. But we also know that you cannot tour like Rush does (with the huge logistical requirements, big stage show, all of the people on the payroll) without doing at least 3 shows per week for an extended period. The finances simply do not support a "small tour" of the magnitude of a Rush show. So, the options would be: 1. Do a smaller show (minimal projection screens, much smaller venues) with a smaller crew, thus allowing for fewer dates that are more spread out. 2. Play a few one-off festival type shows until they just decide to stop doing them. 3. Change their minds and go on another major tour after this. I think the odds are very high that option 2 above will be what happens after this tour (be it one or two legs).
  13. Do you have to all sit together? Probably better off getting four pairs or two sets of four together each as far as getting better seats, especially if you can get several people working simultaneously to get the tickets. You really can't do a ton of socializing during the show anyway, and you can always party together pre-show and then meet up during the intermission and after. Just a thought. Good luck!
  14. Got Pit Row DDD (4th row center) for the Atlanta show. Yay! :-) I feel pretty fortunate considering that there are a grand total of 106 seats in the first 3 rows of the pit.
  15. What I thought was odd was, they said in advance that you would not know your seat until a few days before the show and that you could not sell the tickets (have to show at the venue and show ID to get your ticket) ... but it showed me the tickets I would be getting when I bought the tickets (VIP Gold). So, you'll probably see some 1st 10 rows show up on StubHub too, which is probably why they went so fast this time.
  16. Got Row DDD in the Pit for the ATL show!!! I'm so stoked ... after I got the ticket to come up and bought it, I went back again to see what would come up and it saidf there were no more Gold VIP tickets left at that point, only Silver. That was about 4 minutes after the onsale time. I do wish the VIP tickets would go onsale after the pre-sale, so you could see if you can get decent seats in the pre-sale. Oh well, I would have never gotten Pit tickets in the pre-sale anyway, so ... did I mention I am stoked??? :-)
  17. As long as we get another tour, all three of 'em can sit in bean bag chairs if they want to!
  18. I'm looking forward to the 8mm reel-to-reel video tape version. :codger:
  19. Or ... you can send your item to a venue when they are on tour and have it signed and personalized for free.
  20. QUOTE (Mara @ Oct 2 2012, 08:59 AM)Neil can skewer me on his spit and heat me up any time. I'm not very perceptive, but I think there might have been a bit of sexual innuendo in that post ....
  21. QUOTE (Jaminbenb @ Aug 28 2012, 09:51 AM) Actually, I think they personalize it so you CAN'T really sell it on E-Bay! I don't think they'll sign anything that isn't personalized!! So I would make sure that you let them know what name you want personalized! (if you, your name, if it's a present, the recipients name) Nope, the ones I saw on e-Bay last tour were personalized and obviously just recently signed. Saw them sell for $150 to $400 or so. There are so many counterfeits or incomplete band-signed items (most missing Peart) that people seem willing to fork out the cash even if the item is personalized. And who knows ... the guy buying on e-Bay might just happened to be named "Joe" or whatever. Anyway, just because it is personalized does not mean people are not trying to take unfair advantage of the band's generosity. Please don't be "that guy".
  22. The most important points are: 1. DO NOT send anything you are not willing to never see again 2. Don't send the item in too early, it may get lost. Best bet is to mail it so that it arrives no earlier than 7 days before the show 3. Make sure you send a self addressed envelope with return postage. You want your stuff protected, but you can't make it hard for the venue or they will ignore it, so don't send a huge box with lots of wrapping/bubblewrap, etc. Just send the item in a large envelope 4. Finally, PLEASE do not send something in to be signed only to turn around and sell it on e-Bay! I have seen several of these showing up on e-Bay, and that practice only increases the risk that they will stop signing for fans altogether. Good luck -- you can see mine in my signature area. :-)
  23. In the immortal words of the now-deceased Rodney King ... "Can't we all just get along?"
  24. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jul 3 2012, 06:00 PM) June 8th, 1984 at the Astrodome. I believe they reference it as a disastrous attempt to play to a larger than normal audience before the success of the Rush In Rio concerts. In retrospect, the sound quality was dicey. But, it was a Texxas Jam with Gary Moore, Bryan Adams, Ozzy Osbourne, 38 Special, and Rush. That was good enough for me. Hey, I thought I recognized you ... I was there too! My first Rush show was at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Florida, Signals tour.
