  1. One of the best American rock bands ever. Willie and the Poor Boys and Cosmo's Factory are both must-haves, IMHO.
  2. QUOTE (Soni @ Apr 7 2011, 12:41 PM) Roger Water July 1st. That was the best show I've ever seen in my life. Unbelievable. Enjoy it!!
  3. QUOTE (Ultra @ Mar 26 2011, 05:00 AM) Peter Gabriel on June 10th He is the last of my favorite artists to catch live, and the one I have been waiting to see live for a decade. The last live show he played in my area was in 2003 and I was too poor for that. Ive seen Rush, Roger Waters (because there is no Pink Floyd), The Who, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, all multiple times. But never Peter Gabriel until now. I've seen Peter Gabriel before. He is very, very good. You'll enjoy that. I didn't realize he was coming so close. Anyway.... The Cars in Oakland May 13th.
  4. Setting Rush aside for a minute.... Deadwing - Porcupine Tree Document - REM Achtung Baby - U2 Damn the Torpedoes - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Candy-O - The Cars Strength - The Alarm Disintegration - The Cure I'm sure there are others but these come right to mind.
  5. I received my VIP Packages about a week ago, and my show isn't until late June. The T-Shirt this time is pretty cool (if not a bit flimsy). From what I remember in 2010, the shipping status never updated when I checked. They just showed up at the house one day. On a related note, I got an email today that my Starman Flask is finally shipping too. Tis the Season of Rush! Rejoice!
  6. As someone who likes to travel to shows now and then, this is something that always worries me a little. Remember the guy who sued over his missed show because of weather? So first, I always go to indoor shows when I travel. Went to Vegas last time (and the next time too). As far as the flights, well there's only a certain amount you can control. We always go in the day before for a little margin of error. Since we're flying Southwest this time, I've been watching the news thinking I'm glad our show wasn't this weekend. Hopefully they'll have everything patched up by then! In any event, I'm really sorry this happened to you. I missed out on U2 last year because they had to reschedule, and they did it at a time I'm going to be out of state. Bummer.
  7. Looks like the gang's all here!
  8. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Mar 21 2011, 11:14 PM)Someone else saw Neil and Carrie hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains. Said to Neil, "I don't mean to bother you, but aren't you...?" Before the man could finish, Neil interrupted, "If you don't want to bother me, why are you bothering me?" Yikes! If I ever saw him, I'd run up to him with arms flailing, screaming "DOOD!!! RUSH IS AWESOME!!!!!" We'd be high-fiving and giving big bear hugs. "f**k YEAH!! NEIL PEART IS GOD!!!" Then I'd turn to the stunned crowd and give them the metal horns (you know, these things... ....) and shout "THAT'S RIGHT!! I HAVE DINED ON HONEYDEW, BITCHES!!" Then Neil would give me a ride on the back of his bike to a nice bar somewhere, where he'd buy me drinks and we'd talk for hours and hours about every Rush song he's written. Yeah, that's the ticket. Seriously I think if I saw saw Neil Peart somewhere out in public I would just nod, smile, and keep walking.
  9. QUOTE (tapermike @ Mar 21 2011, 02:37 AM) QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Mar 20 2011, 06:18 PM) You know what? I'm not going to give you a hard time on this. That's how a free market works, right? We all to some extent decide what things/experiences are worth to us. If a meet and greet is worth $3000 to you, then I wish you good luck. My favorite football team went to the superbowl a few years ago. I spent a week straight debating if I should spend the $1800 to go. I did, my team one and it was the best spent money. Had I decided not to go I'd regret it forever. From now I am looking for experiences that are important to me. It is a lot of money but I am one of those people that is happy seeing one show (close up) and not buy T-shirts, programs etc. What are shirts now 60$? You can't take it with you. And I was trying to think, if I had just one meet and greet pass, would I sell it to someone for $3000? It's hard to know what you'd really do unless it happened. I think I would not sell.
  10. QUOTE (Mills1988 @ Mar 21 2011, 05:16 AM) thanks for this. Too bad they have nothing my size. Oh well. Apparently, very few of us Rush fans wear Small or Medium....

  12. Very cool idea! Since my show isn't coming around for more than three months, I'll just watch for now. Keep 'em coming!
  13. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Mar 18 2011, 04:43 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0 Is that a Disney channel song or something? Anyway...it's Craptacular!
  14. I hope for Middletown Dreams every tour, and it never happens. Luckily, they have a couple of other good songs....
  15. QUOTE (That One Guy @ Mar 17 2011, 10:35 PM) Whatever. I'll try meth before I ever f***ing touch that Marijuana shit. That shit's gonna kill you, listen to the goverment. My government says it's medicine.
  16. Subdivisions - Rush Bad - U2 Pictures of You - The Cure Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd Spirit of '76 - The Alarm Arriving Somewhere, But Not Here - Porcupine Tree Telegraph Road - Dire Straits Distant Early Warning - Rush Anesthetize - Porcupine Tree Natural Science - Rush There's lots of other tunes of course, but these were the first ten to pour out, so they must be pretty accurate. The first two probably will never change.
  17. If you look at this link, (from MGM Grand) it looks like they don't have the very back on sale. It seems to me last summer most of the seats were filled (It holds something like 14-16,000) http://www.mgmgrand.com/entertainment/gran...lans%2fRush.gif It shows you where the least expensive seats are. Just for kicks I tried Ticketmaster right now, and pulled 211 Row G.
  18. QUOTE (That One Guy @ Mar 15 2011, 09:43 AM) QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Mar 14 2011, 03:18 PM) QUOTE (That One Guy @ Mar 14 2011, 11:42 AM) Are tickets still on sale for the show? I've had a complete lack of money lately. Cheapo seats are what i'm lookin for. Yes, as of today there are still $65 tickets left. Yay! I'm still gonna need a little more time. Those $65 seats better be decent. I'd like to see facial expressions this time. Well, I wouldn't count on that. You'll be way in the back, or up very high. But...you'll be there!

  20. I'm always glad to hear Subdivisions. I never get tired of that. Also, and I realize I may be in a minority, I really enjoyed Presto. I love that song (and that album, in fact). The new songs are great too. The only one that didn't do much for me was Faithless. I don't dislike the song necessarily, but it seemed to be a momentum killer. JMHO
  21. Jeffrey Combs, Casey Biggs, and Marc Alaimo did scenes from Shakespeare. Nana Visitor is a real trip. Very cool, a total space cadet. Nothing at all like Kira. My wife and I have met dozens of Sci-Fi actors over the years. We are Uber-Geeks!
  22. QUOTE (Jaye @ Mar 10 2011, 02:35 PM)Was Andrew J. Robinson there, by any chance? He's another fave of mine. No I've never met him. I've met many other DS9 actors though. Nana Visitor, Casey Biggs, Max Grodenchik, Marc Alaimo, Aron Eisenberg, Jeffrey Combs....
