Does anyone have any info about this? I saw it noted on the TM website as an upcoming event that you need a password for. Starts Thursday at 10. I got shut out for decent seats on the "fan" presale and was going to try again. Thanks for any help.

Is there a password?

Who else thinks the Exit Stage Left Drum Solo is the Best?
theanalogmiddleagedman replied to toymaker's topic in Rush
It is the only drum solo I can sing. -
Dreamline is one if the greatest songs ever. I really like Where's My Thing and Roll the Bones. I like the ending of Bravado live. The rest is all ok with Nuerotica and Face Up being at the bottom. Didn't you just freak out the first time hearing Dreamline?

Really? I don't think Geddy had full control over his voice in that show and it seemed like Alex butchered some of his solos.

Even though we have heard it a billion times, TSoR is the best live song ever - come on. I get so pumped up when it starts.

Worst is CA tour. Best is ESL. I actually really like the P/G tour video recording of it, too.

I'am excited about the test for echo footage!!
theanalogmiddleagedman replied to nicky6's topic in Rush
I am excited to see the footage as I was at the show. This was our first show in Canada and we didn't realize that it was not polite to stand. We should stand out if there are any crowd shots... -
Speed of Love. At Least Tai Shan has some good imagery.

Rush R40 Blu Ray Box Set this November
theanalogmiddleagedman replied to Bigbobby10's topic in On The Lighted Stage
I hope we can but the bonus content separately...I am sure most of us already have the DVD's. I am super excited for Molson Amp show. I was there and remember it being one of the best nights of my life. I am disappointed as to it not being a full show - a little weird. -
I have to say this is one of my sentimental favorites, as New World Man on the top 40 countdown was my first exposure to rush as an 11 year old. Subdivisions, The Analog Kid, and New World Man are some of my tops. The solo in The Weapon is just amazing, too. Countdown gives me the chills just from the excitement in the imagery.

Hardest Rocking Synth Era Song?
theanalogmiddleagedman replied to Geddy's Soul Patch's topic in Rush
One of the all time ever best songs, The Analog Kid. Hands down the heaviest of that period, so much so, I don't really think it is in that era... -
2112, AFtK, Hemispheres, PeW, Hell - you have to throw in MP for 5. This has to be the best 5 album run of all time maybe not popularly, but just pure creative artistry.

Rick Springfield? Ha. Sorry. Had the boss on the brain.

I didn't really like it a lot at first, other than Crossroads and Heart Full of Soul. I think I was a Rush snob and thought these aren't their songs. Over the years, I realized that some of my favorite songs by other bands (thinking of VanHalen, DLR) were covers. They made them their own and they became songs of that band. Rush really kills these songs - they are unbelievably well done. IMO - they are so much better than the originals, and so much more interesting. I didn't know several of them at first, so to me, they were first time listens. A good point of reference comes from my 8 and 11 year old - they love Crossroads, Heart Full of Soul and the Buffalo Springsteen song (name escapes me at the moment). They are all Rush songs to them - they don't know any different.

Musicians' vs. Non-Musicians' Appreciation of Rush
theanalogmiddleagedman replied to toymaker's topic in Rush
I play a mean trombone, but I don't really consider myself a musician. Rush just speaks to me like no other music. I don't know why, it just does. -
I have to name a few: 70's - La Villa, gosh - all of them 80's - all of Pew, Red Barchetta, YYZ, Limelight, Subdivisions, The Analog Kid, New World Man, Marathon, Chain Lightning (although this is 90's to me) 90's - Dreamline, Where's My Thing, Cut to the Chase, Driven 00's - One Little Victory, Earthshine, Secret Touch, Ceiling Unlimited, Far Cry, Mal Nar, 10's - BU2B, The Anarchist, Headlong Flight It would actually be easier for me to name songs I don't like by period...

I started a thread about this video a long while back. I hate it, too. Someone explained to me at the time that it was done either by someone from Devo or the guy that directed Devo's videos (I can't remember). That made sense, although I still hate it. I don't mind the song so much, though. One of the heavier songs on Presto.

This is the big mystery to me, too - it is some sort of conspiracy. How do the brokers know tickets they have so soon.
-
I have had zero luck with the pre-sales. I am on there at 10am and the best I have ever gotten is 9th row. I splurged on the CA tour and spent $800 a piece for 4 front row (I only had to cover 2 of them) from a broker. I figured it might be my last chance. It set me back a couple of months but I would do it again in a Heart beat. Other than getting married and having children, it was the best experience of my life. I think about it all the time-just an unreal experience. We should start an online petition to have them change their ticket practices to allow the "fans" better access to tickets!!!!! Sure to work....

Help this poor guy out. I am pretty sure on Rush.com there is a link to email - actually this it sro-anthem@sro-anthem.com. Not sure who sees that, but that is the only thing I can find. I was tempted to write and bitch about making more premium tickets available to fans instead of the bullshit way they have been selling them the last several tours.
