  1. FWIW they just released a couple of Signals 40th anniversary shirts on Rush Backstage Club today. Would have to think that's a precursor to a box set being released.
  2. Anyone into this guy? Awesome singer/guitarist from South Carolina. I've seen him live before and it's kind of a Black Crowes blues/jam vibe with his band, but he just put a new album out today called Young Blood that's basically Bad Company meets CCR. Really killer stuff.
  3. Couldn't disagree with this more. The whole thing with Taylor and the reason so many people loved him (besides being a great drummer) is because of how much of a genuine rock fan he was and how contagious his enthusiasm was for his favorite bands. He'd probably be pretty stoked about the idea of Geddy and Alex playing a Rush song together in his memory.
  4. I think there's a decent chance they do Signals because that one had one of their signature videos (Subdivisions) and their only actual Top 40 hit (New World Man), and I think it's the last one of their albums that had any real "mainstream" cache. All the ones after that are much more niche appeal and probably wouldn't be worth the production costs to make a huge box set, but I think there's a good case it's worthwhile to do Signals.
  5. Would guess since they already put one out this year, they'll put the Signals one out next year and then get back on the "actual 40th anniversary of the record" schedule with Grace in 24 ... if they don't decide to stop after Signals.
  6. One time about 6 years ago I went to see Ghostface Killah in Portland (Oregon) and he just no-showed. Found out after the fact that he wasn't even in town and his booking agents thought they had booked a show in Portland, Maine.
  7. Still no word on when the physical release might be coming?
  8. Out of the two documentaries, I think the Netflix one is much better than the HBO one because it actually lays most of the blame for the festival at the feet of the promoters for cutting corners/costs all over the place. The HBO one is much more heavy on the "Korn and Limp Bizkit play aggressive heavy music and that's why the kids burned the festival down." I'm not a fan of those bands at all but it's very obvious watching these docs and reading reporting at the time about it that the vast majority of blame for the way things went down should go to the promoters, not the performers.
  9. I think people are overthinking it. It's not like they're about to go on tour playing Rush songs with the South Park guy playing drums. Popping up once in a while at one of these one-off/tribute things when they feel like it (I assume they'll do something similar at the Taylor Hawkins shows) is cool to me. They're just having fun.
  10. CTTH was the right choice. It had to be something off Kings because that's what the Primus guys know best since they've been touring on it for two years, and that's actually probably the easiest song for Geddy to sing on the record. He sounded about the same as he did on R40 to me.
  11. Muse had a bunch of songs in Rock Band/Guitar Hero and the girls talk all the time about how they learned to play music through those games so it would track that they're big fans.
  12. Halestorm I could take or leave. Lzzy is an incredible singer but their sound is pretty generic to me. TPR on the other hand I think are great -- at least, their newest album that came out last year is. Don't know their older stuff as well but the songwriting on the new album is really strong and Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron guest on one song and Tom Morello guests on another.
  13. Halestorm/The Pretty Reckless/The Warning is a pretty killer bill. I have tickets to see TPR (headline show) next month. Another one of my favorite new(er) rock artists, Ayron Jones, is opening.
  14. I never cared about them getting into the hall before they got in like a lot of fans did but I thought the reception they got at the ceremony was incredibly cool and seeing Jann Wenner have to sit up there and take it was really enjoyable.
  15. I've seen this show twice now -- once last summer and once this summer. Killer both times. They completely nail the Rush stuff musically. It's the closest thing you'll get to the real thing now that Rush is gone. I'm not a MASSIVE Primus fan but I enjoyed hearing their own material live too.
  16. I think "Amour" is my favorite of the new songs that weren't on the EP, but the title track is close.
  17. Ran through the album once today. Obviously already knew half of it but the "new" songs all sounded pretty good too. Only listened once so haven't really picked out favorites yet but there's not a bad song on it and I'll definitely be listening to it a lot more.
  18. I don't think any band around as long as Rush has ever had an album as good as CA that late in their career. "The Anarchist" is a top 10 Rush song to me.
  19. From what I'm hearing, there will eventually be a physical release (CD and vinyl) but it won't come out on the 24th because of manufacturing delays like every band is dealing with post-COVID.
  20. I'm with you, I hope there's a physical release but I have no idea one way or the other.
  21. 1. 404 2. Disciple 3. Choke 4. Animosity 5. Money 6. Amour 7. Evolve 8. Error 9. Z 10. 23 11. Kook Aid Kids 12. Revenant 13. Martirio 14. Breathe
  22. It looks like all 6 songs from the EP as well as "Money" are going to be on the album but they're interspersed in the track list throughout so it's not like that was part 1 and the new stuff is part 2. 14 tracks in total.
  23. They just announced on their Patreon that the album is coming out June 24!
