  1. QUOTE (Jake2112 @ Apr 24 2011, 08:21 PM) Funny how David Fricke, the chief editor for Rolling Stone, loves Rush and was on the 2112/Moving Pictures DVD Not to mention wrote the liner notes for the new Moving Pictures reissue.
  2. The Trio album is great. Not a huge fan of his poppier stuff, but he's a talented dude.
  3. They'd better be resurrecting John Bonham for the amount they're hyping this.
  4. Rio, Hartford, or something from 80-81.
  5. Would any of y'all have not devoured every bit of meaningless information about their personal lives had the internet existed in the early 80s? That's what I thought.
  6. QUOTE (usb_connector @ Apr 16 2011, 05:27 AM) To be honest, the only thing that hasn't been released by Rush that I want is a DVD with all of the music videos and a CD containing Not Fade Away and Garden Road. Yeah.
  7. Your drum solo is outstanding. Not really my type of music but that's awesome that you guys are opening for a band I've actually heard of. Best of luck in the future.
  8. If either Lauren or Stefano make the top five I'm out on this season. My Scotty pick is looking pretty good right now.
  9. I didn't even know they were still together. I thought they broke up a few years ago.
  10. I have almost no use for any kind of physical media anymore. All my music is ripped in Apple Lossless and my external hard drive is hardwired directly into my stereo so I can get at any of my music over a wi-fi network. It sounds amazing. Rush is the only band that's an exception. I don't download their albums when they leak, always buy them the day they come out. The Moving Pictures deluxe edition is the first CD I've bought in over a year. I buy new albums on vinyl still, and find ways to support bands financially (buying shirts, going to concerts, purchasing digital downloads if it's a smaller band not on a major label), but the CD format is basically useless to me.
  11. The funny part of the original video is that I'd rather listen to Justin Bieber than Slipknot any day of the week.
  12. Yes to both The Killing and "GrandDesigner needs to watch Breaking Bad right the f**k now."
  13. Doesn't matter what order you get them in, everything from the debut through Drama (and I suppose 90125) is must-have stuff. Anything after that is buyer-beware, some good stuff but a ton of crap to wade through to get to it. Relayer is my personal favorite Yes album besides Close to the Edge so I'd tell you to go for that one next. You can't go wrong either way though.
  14. I'm starting to do preliminary research into 5.1 setups. By the end of the year I'll have bought one. I know what I'm testing it out with.
  15. How's this for a conspiracy theory: Fox probably has a deal with AT&T that pays them based on how many people text in votes, so they kicked off the most talented contestant as a stunt to drive home the point that everyone has to vote.
  16. Without Simon to actually criticize people, America doesn't know who's good and who isn't. My Scotty prediction is looking better and better every day.
  17. The CD sounds great, but I've listened to this album so many thousands of times that I it's hard to notice huge differences in the stereo mix. I downloaded FLACs of the hi-res 24-bit stereo mix that's on the DVD, which I'll listen to later tonight. If the blu-ray 5.1 mix is as amazing as you guys say it is, I need to start looking more seriously into getting a setup. Great liner essay by David Fricke too. One of the only two Rolling Stone writers (the other being Rob Sheffield) with any credibility.
  18. If anyone has that complete tourbooks collection that came out a few years ago, talk to me about it. I don't have much in the way of rare stuff, but I'd be willing to pay a reasonable price for a copy.
