  1. Has anyone had any luck sending stuff to the Glasgow SECC on past tours. I've just got time to get something sent, but i'd hate for it not to come back. Any info would be much appreciated. thanks ;-)
  2. Thanks for the fast reply right 3 times i'm away for a looks@@
  3. Hi All i've just getting the R30 deluxe dvd set. I've tried doing a search for previous threads on the subject of hidding easter eggs etc. But the search has came up with nothing. Could someone post up a link or the codes for cracking the extras. Cheers
  4. I've got this Rush programme listed on ebay. It's fully signed by the band and i'd like to see it going to a good home / fan. Good luck if your having a bid. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120881309548
  5. Unofficial 1978 AFTK UK tour shirt. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2078/000000100.jpg http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/8748/000000301.jpg
  6. A few more passes for the collection. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/2082/000000302.jpg
  7. I've just getting these cool items for my collection. A Time Machine Geddy pick and a pair of used Neil Peart drumsticks. The sticks are from the Glasgow show and are used from the first set. http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/3258/000000206.jpg http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/5174/000000103.jpg
  8. Sorry she couldn't give me any more details then what i have mentioned above. But feel free to phone up the venue as the woman was very helpful.
  9. I phoned up the venue and the person who i spoke to put me in touch the the lady who forwards the mail to the band. She was responsible for forwarding all the parcels to the promoter on the night. The promoter then has to make sure that the band or the tour manager Liam Birt are notified of any mail/packages. She advised me that her job was done and non of the packages where left behind in the dressing room. So all i can think is that the promoter kept the packages and didn't forward them to the band. I know of a couple of people who didn't hear anything back, it's too much of a coincidence for it to happen to everyone.
  10. Barry check the edge on the pick it should have a bevelled/rough edge if it has been used. More then likely these are giving to the extra stage hands, local crew etc. As a thank you for working on the tour. They are sold as 'used' to try to get a few extra bucks. These hardly reach the band and are handed out mainly amongst the band crew. A friend of mine was lucky to chat with 'Tony Geranious' and he handed over a couple of picks for his collection. The same as the 2 posted up yellow and red picks.
  11. Thanks for the reply alphap with this thread being 18000+ hits. Why don't you post a pic up of the signed album. I thought i would of been swomped with the replies. But thanks for letting me know that you did get your album back on the same day. I've still heard nothing back from my friends and it isn't looking good for them. If anyone on the forum has received anything from the Birmingham gig please let me know ok Thanks
  12. @ alphap Hi I'm from Newcastle and i posted my Hemispheres programme to the Newcastle Arena. It was a heart stopping moment as i opened up the package thinking 'has this been returned without any signatures'. But it was great to see those signatures across the front cover. I cannot understand how it has taking your item a week to return ?. I had my programme returned to me in 2 days. Was your album sent 2nd class post and did you notice the post mark on the package ?. The reason i'm asking is that i would think they'd be all signed and sent out at the same time. I told a couple of friends to post to the Birmingham LG Arena. But niether of them have heard anything back. So i'm thinking that they don't forward mail to the band at that venue.
  13. I'm surprised no one has posted up on this thread ?. The last date of the UK tour was last night. Has anyone had anything back from the Birmingham LG Arena. I have a friend who is waiting for a reply and he's chomping at the bit. If anybody has any info please reply cheers
  14. QUOTE (capoetc @ May 23 2011, 06:56 AM)Out of curiosity ... why do some people send multiple items to be signed? Would you not be happy to have one item signed, and leave the opportunity for others to get something signed too? Eventually, these extra signed items are going to show up on e-Bay, and then the signing will likely come to an abrupt halt. If some venues do not forward any mail to the artist. Then you do have an alternative to try a different venue. So if one attempt fails, hopefully the second one will work. It's a gamble and you have to trust that the item will get back to you. If both items come back, that is a big bonus.
  15. Excellent ....my old Hemispheres tour programme has returned and it looks Mint!!! i was well surprised how quickly this came back to me. I posted this last Thursday, the gig was on the Saturday. I'm buzzing Good luck to everyone who is waiting for something in the post. http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/4005/0000010k.jpg
  16. If anyone has posted any items to the Newcastle Metro Arena or the Birmingham LG Arena. If they hear anything or get anything back from the band. Would you be so good to post a reply and let me know as i'm waiting for a couple of items to return.
  17. Great news for everyone who has been lucky to get something signed from the guys. The remaining dates for the UK tour what venues would be the best for sending an item to the band. I was going to post something to the Newcastle Metro Arena 21st May. Has anyone had anything signed from that venue. If you could be so kind and post up the addresses of any possible places that are definitely a good bet for getting the item back. I'd hate to send any of my tour books and not see them again. cheers
  18. QUOTE (ytserush @ Jan 19 2011, 05:39 PM) I collect quite a bit. I suppose I'd consider myself in the low end of the upper-middle class of Rush collecting. I don't have everything (can't really afford it even if I wanted to) but I do have enough to tastefully decorate a room should I ever decide to head in that direction. Maybe I will one day. I've got a biggish collection of Rock memorabilia and most of the items have been bought for a reasonable price. Since ebay came on the scene more people have getting into collecting. Items like guitar picks and drumsticks sell for a reasonable price. Old fans who are selling off the contents of the attic and sometimes you get some really good bargains. Signed items, programmes, ticket stubs, fliers posters etc. I cannot believe the price some of this goes for. Old t-shirts from gigs go for serious money. Ytserush if you have anything of interest could you post some pics up of your collection cheers
  19. QUOTE (kooma @ Jan 19 2011, 05:46 AM)I have got a couple of backstage passes from "older" tours... I have a few from R30, Roll the Bones and Hemispheres. If you could post them up and give me a looksee Cheers http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/5848/1001760w.jpg http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/8620/1001769f.jpghttp://img443.imageshack.us/img443/4514/1001768c.jpg
  20. QUOTE (Zanadoo @ Jan 19 2011, 07:22 AM) No need to accuse the guy of being a psycho...Perhaps he just didn't know all of the stories many of us know about Neil being a loner. I'd say he's in the majority too. Maybe it comes across as a little too much, but maybe he just wants to say hi to the band. Well at least one of you understands yeah a fan from being at my first Rush show as a 13 year old kid i'm 44 and have seen Rush enough times to say i'm a fan. Not an obsessed fan who has to know the colour of Geddy Lee's underwear and what he has for breakfast. But some people are that way. I don't know how i come over like i'm on some kind of hunt for Neil. All i'm saying is that he does separate himself from the band so i'd like to see the guy and get a few items signed. But some of you have turned that into Me being a stalker and upsetting Neil's private time. If it wasn't for the likes of me being a fan and going to the gigs etc. He'd be stuck in a Walmart packing peoples bags. So lighten up people if you cannot get what i'm saying or if it needs corrected for spelling. Me bad and the spell check button is flashing to help me...
  21. OK me bad i must know how Neil Peart opporates before i can approach him. Every book he's wrote is on order from amazon. He's human like me and you, he has to get to the gig someway or other, unless he is beamed up. It's a simple enough question that you don't need to analize, don't worry i'm not going to stalk the guy. Does he have any interests in touring the UK while on tour in May ?. i.e does he still tour on his motorbike ?. If not he will be doing the tour bus and hotel thing. If i'm wrong let you cast the first stone... So i'll ask any fans who seen the band on the S&A UK tour. Did Neil tour the UK on his bike. Did any fans see him arrive on his bike SIMPLES!!!... The chances being that i may see all the band together if Neil is not touring on his own bus/bike.
  22. QUOTE (rusher @ Jan 18 2011, 01:19 PM)QUOTE (Smokin'Lebanon @ Jan 17 2011, 02:56 PM) QUOTE (CMWriter @ Jan 17 2011, 01:10 PM) QUOTE (Smokin'Lebanon @ Jan 17 2011, 08:52 AM) ...Have any fans had much luck meeting the band at the hotel and is Neil still touring on his motorbike ?. I'm hoping to see them after the Newcastle gig. Em.. I've never tried this, but I don't think it's a very good idea. That might come off as a little bit stalker-ish.. I cannot see any harm done if you know the band are staying there. It's not like you are sneaking about the hotel trying to find which room they are staying in. Very much like waiting at the stage door after a show. The difference being every one waits there, and only a few people make the journey to the hotel. I was very lucky to see Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) on the last 2007 UK tour before Ronnie took bad. One of the road crew gave me a tipp off to what hotel they were staying in. After a short wait of 30 mins all the band showed up and signed all my tour books etc. Geezers nephew, who is his PA. He went one better and came out with a bunch of guitar picks for the fans. It's such a shame that Ronnie is no longer with us. He was such a lovely friendly guy. It's been hammered to death on these boards - but Neil hates it when fans seek him out after a show. Freaks him out (and rightfully so). Don't try to follow his bus (or bike) as you will get a word or two from his crew. What makes you think that i'd be interested to follow Neil on his bike. All i wanted to know was if he still does the touring on his bike. If he doesn't he'd more then likely be with the band instead of being on a separate bus etc. I don't think Neil would turn to stone when asked if he could sign my copy of Ghost Rider. He may stay away from the fans but i'm sure if he was asked nicely to sign something he would be humble and do so. He does meet and greets so he must find time to be sociable with the fans. Your making him out to be some kind of sad loner.
  23. QUOTE (Syrinx @ Jan 18 2011, 01:12 PM)I have that thing in my avatar Syrinx is that a bass drum skin from Neil's kit ?. How did you manage to get hold of that ?. That is a very nice item to own.

  25. QUOTE (Docmilsap @ Jan 17 2011, 11:28 AM) http://oi53.tinypic.com/6p6pns.jpg I can't remember how to post pictures!! I have the Permanent Waves tour poster & programme you've shown here, along with the (2112) 1977 tour programme, the AFTK's tour poster & programme, the Hemispheres tour poster & programme etc etc. & tickets stubs for all UK tours. Cool poster doc i see its signed by Alex. Did you meet them after the Glasgow gig in '77 ?. I've got all the programmes i'm still wanting the 2112 UK tour prog. I was at the SECC for the R30 show the best i've seen them. The Glasgow choir know how to enjoy themselves. I'm just south of you in Newcastle if the tickets were a little cheaper i'd be doing both Newcastle & Glasgow gigs in May. You need a crash course in how to post pics up, its easy at imageshack/us if you have the pics loaded to your PC.
