  1. Really sorry you're having to go thru this so young. I know it doesn't seem fair. Praying you have some good news for us when the results come back. I know it's scary, try not to worry. I pray you'll be able to keep your mind off it and be able to relax maybe some this weekend

  4. QUOTE (1 of the 7 @ Aug 3 2011, 09:17 PM)QUOTE (Inthend @ Aug 3 2011, 03:54 PM) I'm very thankful it wasn't more serious but it is very disappointing that I just worked my ass off in GA last 2 weeks and all of it will be going to this. No insurance. I definitely feel this part of your pain; I had no health insurance when I ended up in the hospital and found out I'm diabetic. Hope you heal soon and get a lot more good jobs to make up for the loss 'Preciate that. And I wasn't as sore as I thought I'd be this morning. It probaly helped that I woke up 2 times last night (2 and 4am) and got out of bed. I was sore but not as bad as I thought it would be. After breakfast I took some more painkillers and a muscle relaxer. They definitely help. I think i'll be back in the saddle by Mon. I'm doing some light house keeping today to work some of the sorness out. But don't worry I'm takin it slow. And thanks much on the well-wishes on the business. And also a 'Thank you' to Go2wrk for the response.
  5. QUOTE (Mara @ Aug 3 2011, 04:14 PM) Yikes! You're quite lucky; glad you're still in one piece. (Oh, and try to work something out with the ER billing dept. to get the costs reduced. The worst they can say is no, but you'll very likely be able to get some knocked off the bill). thx, mara. yeah i've heard they'll knock some off for 'self payed' people. definitely gonna try. Havn't seen the bill yet. I'm hoping that it'll be $2-3k.
  6. Took a scary fall off a ladder about 10am this morning. I was cutting a limb on my property and had the ladder on it. I thought I had enough of the ladder up so when the limb came up from the weight coming off of it, I still be ok. I thought wrong. When the limb came up ladder slipped off and I fell about 14 ft flat on my back on the ladder. Thank God I had my employee with me. The limb also landed on me, didn't really hit me, but trapped me underneath. It's the hardest I've ever been hit. After my bud pulled the limb off me, I had to lie there for about 10 min before I could stand up and then with assitance. I went to the ER and everything came back neg. No broken bones. They ran a CAT scan on me for potential internal injuries. And that checked out. I was having trouble breathing for about 3 hrs. But feel much better now after some Loritabs and muscle relaxers. I'm very thankful it wasn't more serious but it is very disappointing that I just worked my ass off in GA last 2 weeks and all of it will be going to this. No insurance. I'm going be SOOO sore in the morning and probally next few days. Something hit me under my right eye. Got a nice little goose egg on it so I'll probaly have a black eye for a couple days too. Ya'll think about me if ya would. And be careful out thare.
  7. Well I got a commerical project in Savannah. Took me two weeks, 10 -12 hr. days. Two coats on it all baby. It'll last, oh yeah. Was real proud of the 5 bay doors. They had been so oxicide by the afternoon sun for 20 years, pressure washing took nearly all the paint off the steel rollup doors and they had some bad rust spots. But after some xylene based primer and an industrial alkyd enamel, they looked brand new. Was able to fit some lesiure in to it. I went down to River st. one night and had a real nice meal and some drinks, checked out a couple of the stores and chilled on the board walk and watched the barges pass. Went to Tybee Beach which was about 40 min. away on a Sunday about 8:30 am, started drinkin mud slides about 10am and enjoyed the hell out um till 3 when I had had enough of the blazin sun. And I did get to do a little shoppin yesterday in Savannah's famous downtown distric. About 15 square blocks of retail shops. Alot of um were closed for Sunday but a lot of um were doing business. Anyway thought I'd share some pics, and it's good to be back home. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah044.jpghttp://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah041.jpghttp://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah058.jpg Forgot to take a pic of the finished inside Some sights: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah059.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah063.jpgTown Hall http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah067-1.jpghttp://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah065.jpg The owner of the property was a great guy. Quite wealthy but really down to earth. He invited me to his house Sat. night for a fish fry that he had caught in Florida. Freash water brim from Lake George I think. They were delilious plus I got to drink Margaritas on the end of the peir and watch some pretty good scenery if you know what I mean. Here's me and him in front of his $7000 pool table. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b141/Inthend_/savannah056.jpg

  14. Was driving a Toyota Corolla when I was 19. Had to go over a RR crossing every day to get to work. That week the crossing arms had been malfuctioning. They would come down and no train would pass and then after about 5-10 min. they would come back up. This day they did the same thing. Still, I looked both ways, didn't see a train, so I decided not to wait and drive between them. Bout the time I got half way over the tracks, BAAMMM! Sucker nearly T-boned me! A second earlier and it would have. Still can't believe I didn't see it. How do you Not see a freakin train! Very fortunately, hit me at the rear wheel and spun me off the track. Did break the tire clean off the axle and rammed one of the crossing arms thru my rear windshield. Later that week I was at another RR crossing and the arms came down but no train came. But did I try that again? Uh , hell no. Waited about 10min. and they came back up. On another occassion, I had a .22 pistol. Long story short, I was in my living room. The pistol was in it's holster. I tossed it ( ) onto my couch about 6 ft away. It bounced off the couch onto the floor and landed just right on the hammer and went off. The next day I found the bullet hole in the ceiling. Got a string out and pulled it tight from where the gun had landed and the hole in the ceiling. Where I was standing it had passed right by my head.
  15. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 28 2011, 04:04 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 28 2011, 03:52 PM) QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Apr 28 2011, 04:37 PM)QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 28 2011, 02:51 PM) I guess NY is getting remnants of that storm that pounded the southeast yesterday. Pretty good thunderstorm going on out there right now. I'm glad it's weakened considerably. The death toll here keeps climbing. Over 160 dead in Alabama. The photos are just horrendous. Believe me, these thunderstorms are a walk in the park compared to this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/9524110-essay.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/lg27.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/1001001/9523661-essay.jpg Damn. That reminds me of the time I was snowmobiling in an area in Northeastern Wisconsin that had been hit by a tornado earlier in the year. Everywhere I rode, nothing but trees knocked over like toothpicks. For a square mile there wasn't a single tree left standing. It looked like a bomb went off. Yes, I've seen the footage on the news. Just terrible devastation. The expert on said that it was the exact conditions that come along every 100 yrs. But when asked if these conditions might now form more regularly due to climate change he said there wasn't enough data to say that. These tornados were big and stayed on the ground a long time. I'll see if I can find it (think it was ABC) but they had incredible video of an entire roof top, big rooftop, being flown around on one these things, I mean, 100s of ft. off the ground like it was a peice of paper. I pray they recover from this quickly. I'm sure they'll pull together and salvage some good things from tragedy.
  16. QUOTE (CMWriter @ Apr 14 2011, 06:19 PM)My pottery piece (lovingly titled "Hemispheres") is coming together at last! Early in the project I was getting so discouraged to the point where I didn't even care about getting a good grade. I just wanted to get it over with. It's loosely inspired by the song of the same title, of course. It's a cube with a puzzle-cut lid, and on each side face is an emotion face (joy, anger, sorrow, shock) with a word written in Greek underneath. Beneath each (respectively) is Dionysus, Apollo, Cygnus, Rush. I was having all kinds of issues with the coils and the walls but now that I'm working on details it's much more enjoyable. Still got a side project to do for a group I'm with on DeviantART, not to mention a digital art project for Holocaust Lit... But it'll get done. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh201/kay1714/you_go_girl.gif Keep up the good work!
