  1. I've seen it twice at the show, but that is great quality. I just put it on my facebook page. Thanks.
  2. That's my wife's blond hair at the bottom left. I finally got a picture of her and Geddy together.
  3. I haven't bought any vinyl in ages. I'm gonna try to get one. What do vinyl singles costs these days?
  4. I didn't bring my camera to the show. After I got there and saw how many folks had one I wished out loud that I had. My wife reached into her purse and pulled out her little PINK 7 mega-pixel camera. We we far enough up that I thought some shots of the video screen might work and there are a couple of interesting ones. The battery died during the drum solo. I removed the out of focus ones and got 17 pics in the end. Enjoy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/61512497@N08/...29184/lightbox/
  5. QUOTE (goathunter @ Apr 5 2011, 08:16 AM) I was in section 105, lower level (halfway back on the right side), and the sound was very good most of the time. The bass synth seemed was inordinately loud much of the time, but otherwise, the sound was very good for most of the show. But experience has shown that the sound can vary a lot in Bridgestone Arena depending on where you are, how it's mixed, etc. I did miss the incredible sound quality of the 2004 tour opener at Starwood, where they'd had several days to get the sound perfect.... Hunter They were always great at Starwood. I still have a blood vendetta against the imbeciles that tore it down. They are even thinking of rebuilding it smaller now. AAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhh!
  6. GREAT photos. From where I was I could see you and I was thinking, man I bet he's getting some good shots. Thanks for sharing. I also could see that one guy who jumped up and down for the whole show. I bet he was sore the next day. I'm almost scared to look at my shots now. Is there an easy to just drag them into the body of my message or do I need to upload them somewhere? I'm about to open them in Photoshop and see if there is any hope. Edit: Got a few good ones. Started a new thread so they won't be compared too closely to the great ones here.
  7. I'll know better than to get the cheap seats from now on at that place. I can't imagine what the folks in the nose bleed seats were hearing, but they were packed in all the way to the top. Looking forward to the boot and I have high expectations for the Cleveland show and yet another outstanding live DVD.
  8. I think in the case of the Bridgestone Arena it is where you sit. I've sat in the club level twice and both times the sound was an issue. When I've been on the floor or the first level of seats it's been great. Please tell me someone was taping this show. I'd want it no matter what the sound because I was there, but if there is boot that has good sound it will make a good one to collect for a very energetic performance.
  9. Outstanding pictures. I hope my Nashville pics are half that good. I think my wife still has the camera in her purse so I have to wait to look at them.
  10. It was an up and down experience last night. When I got the tickets I had to go for the club level because of the friends who also wanted to go, but didn't want to pay for floor seats. At the last moment they pulled out and sold their tickets to someone else. It's too long and boring to go into here, but I will never sacrifice good seats for someone else again. I don't know what the show sounded like on the floor, but at the club level it started as a wall of mud. The opening video was hard to hear and then The Spirit of Radio started and I knew I was in trouble. The review of Greensboro was very close to my experience. The first set was loud and painful with muddy sound. Set two was an immediate change for the better. Moving Pictures sounded a LOT better. They did the best version of Witch Hunt I have ever heard. Caravan was stunning. Last night's version of Working Man was so amazing that I thought Alex's guitar was going to explode. Best of all? Soaring above all the mixed bag of sound was Geddy's voice. I don't know what he was doing on his time off, but I didn't hear a bad note all night. He was hitting all the highs and enunciating very clearly and just impressed the entire crowd with that amazing Geddy voice that he is capable of. I applaud his outstanding efforts. A+ Alex was brilliant as usual. He almost needs longer necks on his guitar so he can get more in. It was hard to get the details in his playing at first, but as the night went on and the sound got better (or maybe my ears just got used to it) he just gave me yet another great guitar listening experience. Neil seemed to be spot on, but the details were about as lost as most of the more delicate keyboard parts. During the first set he seemed to be playing beats. As the night wore on it was more like he was playing drums. I saw them back in August in St. Louis and last night's solo was better I thought. Standout moments: Freewill (someone fired up a joint nearby, which seemed kind of oddly appropriate), Subdivisions (great intense version), Moving Pictures (especially Witch Hunt just because Alex played it so well, but the whole thing was awesome), Caravan (the best I've ever seen), Working Man (incendiary). Funny moment: As Geddy introduced BU2B he mentioned that it had a Nashville connection (they recorded it here). He pauses for a beat and says, "Wow, that sounds so weird... a Rush/Nashville connection." Overall I give them a giant A+ for the performance and venue a C- for sound. I hope someone got a good recording from the sweet spot. Maybe it sounded better from below. I've got some photos that I'll get up here as soon as I can. The battery on the camera was fading fast so I'm not sure how good any of them are yet. Shout out to Broadway Brewhouse. It was wall to wall Rush fans for several hours before the show. They were playing nothing but Rush songs and the beer was flowing and the poor staff looked like they had never had a Sunday like that before, but 95% of Rush fans are cool and I hope everybody tipped well.
  11. Everything will be what it is supposed to be. You can't change it. I saw the show in August of last year. This is the first time I've seen them twice on the same tour. No set change? I don't care. This time it will be indoors and my vantage point will be different and let's face it: Rush is at a stage where each tour could be the last. I will someday, God willing, look back on this tour and be able to say that I was there when they played Moving Pictures in its entirety and I saw it twice. Appreciate this band while you can. They won't be around forever.
  12. QUOTE (softfilter @ Mar 29 2011, 03:15 AM) What if some fans didn't see The Time Machine tour last year???? There's plenty of us who haven't, and I don't know or want to know the setlist!! It's new to me.... Hello, Cleveland!!! But you don't understand. There are a small group of individuals who are just certain that they are the only 10 or 12 Rush fans in the world and the band must do their bidding.
  13. I started reading this thread expecting to get ticked off at some of the comments, but most folks have been pretty fair. The man is in his fifties and considering what his voice has been through he sounds pretty damn good. I hope I'm as good at my job at his age. I've been lucky enough to never see him on bad night. (Cross fingers and hope for a great show in April! )
  14. http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1B004583F7A88032 There is a link to the ticketmaster web page for the show. Scroll down a little to find a seating layout. There are three sections. This could be wrong because I seem to recall only two sections on the floor for any show I've been to there, but maybe it's just arranged differently this time.
  15. I hope you get to meet them. If you are willing to pay 3K then you must be serious. If you do then just don't mess it up. Stick your hand out (to Alex) and say, "Thanks for the music. I have really enjoyed it." He will smile and pat you on the back. Trust me. It worked for me.
  16. QUOTE (rummut71 @ Mar 14 2011, 03:38 PM) Yeah, there was a thread about this awhile back... Good piece. Glad my lighthearted original post has gotten JR some good extra props! I'm just glad your lighthearted post didn't deteriorate into insults and rants. I suspect JR had a sense of humor. The "too soon for JR jokes" is a reference to how Abraham Lincoln jokes still aren't funny. As for the banner... "PLAY IN THE MOOD"
  17. QUOTE (rummut71 @ Mar 11 2011, 06:29 PM) RUTSEY WAS FRAMED!!! Too soon for JR jokes.
  18. QUOTE (TheBluePhoenix @ Mar 11 2011, 05:20 PM) I think you should have more than two (if possible) and change it every few songs. That may give you a better chance of getting on film. I also like the idea of an Ayn Rand reference. How about a reference to recent economic events, like "RUSH DIDN'T NEED A BAILOUT!"
  19. I started on the first page, but too much stopped me from reading too far. I don't like I Think I'm Going Bald and... oh damn, Did Geddy write that?
  20. You could put an old picture and a current one at each end with something witty in between. Rush, aging like fine wine. Geddy might like that one.
  21. Neil hates obvious things like "Rush Through Time". You have to be clever. The Atlas Shrugged movie is coming out soon so say something like "Rush Plays Reardon Metal". You know, think about it. Come up with something brilliant. I have killed too many brain cells tonight to be that smart.
  22. I got my invitation and thanks for sending it. My friends and I already made plans, but I hope everyone has a great time. 41 days and counting down.
  23. I got Power Windows and was because it was pretty close. It isn't exactly my favorite album, but it was fun quiz.
  24. I had actually had a bit too much before the show last year. I wasn't falling down drunk or anything, but this time it will be inside and I'm getting laser surgery on my eyes today (!God, please don't let them blind me!). I think it will be a whole new experience set list change or not. I was falling down laughing at the thought of Rush doing a fan request show and thinking about what a royal mess that would be. Relax Rush fans. Sometimes you just have to let art flow over you.
