  11. It's now been a week since we first all learned of Neil's passing. As we continue to mourn his loss, let us also continue to remember his genius. We've celebrated his drumming and lyrical prowess. Now let's turn to the numerous times Neil was interviewed over the course of his career. Neil was an incredibly articulate individual which led to some thought-provoking and revealing interviews. To that end, I've put together the following exhaustive list of interviews from across the decades. In reading them, perhaps we can all take away a renewed appreciation for the man behind the drumkit. http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2020/01/neil-peart-interview-collection.html Enjoy-

For those of us who loved reading all of Neil's blog posts on his website (dubbed the 'News, Weather, and Sports' entries), you can now catch a complete archive of every entry (dating back to 2005) via the link below: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/peart-news-weather-and-sports.php The last entry Neil made was in May of 2016. Obviously we were all hoping for additional entries, but at least we can now go back and reminisce. Enjoy-
  13. It's been a heart-wrenching weekend, which goes without saying for any and everyone visiting this great Rush forum. But as bad as it's been, it's been wonderful to see so many news stories and tributes coming out to honor the man who changed all of our lives. To that end, I've been collecting all of those tributes and posting them at the following link: http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2020/01/the-passing-of-rock-legend-neil-peart.html I'll continue to add more as I come across them. Sigh.

There are numerous stories, photos, concert ads, and so much more that pack the over 400 pages of this hefty book. Without question, a must-have for all Rush fans...

  19. Hi, everyone. I'm helping a friend sell his Limited Edition Alex Lifeson R40 Les Paul Axcess guitar which is only one (#37) of 50 ever made that were signed AND played by Alex himself. More about the guitar: In celebration of Rush's 40th Anniversary, Gibson Custom presents the Limited Edition Alex Lifeson R40 Les Paul Axcess with 7A quilt maple tops in a lush Ruby Red R40 finish. It also features a Limited Edition "Starman" R40 die-caste medallion covering the rhythm/treble switch access cavity. Created through extensive work with Alex Lifeson himself, the Gibson Custom Signed Alex Lifeson 40th Anniversary Les Paul Axcess Quilt similarly redefines the boundaries of the classic Les Paul: packed in a single remarkable instrument, this guitar carries all of the traditional tones that have made the Les Paul legendary, along with unprecedented levels of sonic and performance versatility. If you are interested in this guitar, please send me a private message to discuss pricing and shipping. Please feel free to share this post with others. Thank you, all.
  20. I've always been interested in the 'behind-the-scenes' aspect of a Rush tour; particularly the entire stage design and lighting direction. Long-time LD Howard Ungerleider revealed some interesting information about how he went about designing Rush's 30th Anniversary tour back in 2004 in an interview that appeared in the 2004 issue of Professional Lighting & Production Magazine. Though its 15 years old, the interview was never available online -- until now: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/prfessional-lighting-production-11.2004.php Enjoy the inside look... -John
  21. I've never been disappointed with any of the Fantoons releases, and I'm sure this is going to be another winner from them. Details, previews and ordering links available here: http://news.cygnus-x1.net/2019/04/the-making-of-farewell-to-kings-graphic.html
