Page is one of those guys where the quantity of riffs never was at the sacrifice of their quality. Lifeson has a lot of great ones, but he’s just as much in the Townsend school of playing, which is less riffy. In other words, he just doesn’t have quite as many as Page, but he makes up for it in other ways.
Well said. My thoughts exactly.

The final Dead and Company tour is coming to a close.
I think I've seen about 35 D&C shows. I decided to do a bunch of shows this tour with it being the last. But the band is on fire. Last few tours were good but not great. The Dead and Slow theme didn't inspire me much. But the band is on another level now.
Anyways, went to the Bristow, VA show and made it to the 3 night run in Boulder.
Was not at the Gorge, but will be in San Fran for the final 3 shows.
Did want to add that the drone show in Boulder was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Hold Your Fire
Presto
Roll the Bones
Test for Echo
HYF was the first new Rush to come out after I was a cemented fan. I bought it, but it's never gotten a lot of spins, not when I had the back catalog that was so good.
Presto was supposed to be a return to form, stripped down Rush, and it was, but again, not a lot of spins.
RTB is the interesting one here. I really liked it a lot when it came out. The whole Chance theme was really appealing to me at the time, but after CP came out, RTB really fell by the wayside, and to this day I generally shun it. I would even use Dreamline and Roll The Bones as bathroom break opportunities during the later concerts. So did a lot of other people.
T4E never really grabbed me at all. I've heard the term "Rush by numbers" to describe Rush's sometimes formulaic approach to writing songs, and to me that phenomenon is most present on this record. Even my favorite song on the album, Time and Motion, is only my favorite because it progressive hard rock Rush...by numbers.
My thoughts exactly. Thanks for saving me the trouble of typing it out. Only exceptions would be 'bathroom break' (as I typically never have to go during a concert) and Time and Motion being my fave of T4E (Driven for me)

Tedeschi Trucks was unbelievably excellent! Other than a Rush concert, I had more fun at this one than any other concert.
Have seen them many times. One of the very few bands still out there that I will every time they are in town or within a 2 hour drive.

Random but interesting trivia......a long long time ago stoners used to play both the movie "The Wizard of Oz" and the album "Dark Side Of The Moon" at the same time. The theory was- the movie and album had subliminal messages that complimented eachother.
In reality some of the plot points in "The Wizard Of Oz" discussed events that were coming to pass in American culture.
A couple months ago, I saw a Pink Floyd laser show (no live band, just playing the albums) and part of the show included some of the 'Wizard of Oz' in the background.

PHISH
Se7en nights at MSG July/August. I'll be at 3-4 shows.
Saw the summer tour dates yesterday. Guessing I;ll probably be at the two Wilmington shows and the two Philly shows. Probably not too many as I'm already planning to hit the road with the 3 Boulder and the 3 Sanfran Dead and Co shows. Pretty sure I won't be heading up to MSG for summer but will probably be there New Years run

I haven't gone to YouTube to check, but was the album Grohl held up something live? I didn't recognize it right away, so I thought maybe it was a single release or something from a bootleg?

Since when were the Grammy's ever about good music??
Jimi Hendrix never won a grammy, so in my mind, it is a sham.

Duane era Allman's was the first thing that popped in my head with the Grateful Dead being second.
Also agree that there was a lot of magic with the Warren/Derek ABB era.
For me, I don't feel the 'magic' with bands who pretty much play the songs exactly like they are on the album. It's all rehearsed and planned. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of those bands at well but not to the context of EP's original post.
It's the bands that go into the free flowing jazz improvisation where nobody knows what's gonna happen next. Then the 'magic' happens when everyone listens to what everyone else is doing and everyone synchs up and adds in their moments to elevate the spiritual moments.
Honorable mentions:
Phish
Gov't Mule with Allen Woody when they were a power trio
Luther Dickinson era Black Crowes
