  1. QUOTE (In A Tidewater Surge @ Apr 5 2011, 04:52 PM) Have aliens in it. Yesss. Ugh. If you're actually serious, sign up for a class at a community college or a University and take a screenplay writing class. Even if you hate the class you at least get the software for free. If you're not so serious, just buy the software. It ranges from the cheapest, which sucks ($70) to over $200. I love the really good software because it basically does everything for you and you just write. With the cheap software you have to go back and format everything so you do little writing and tons of editing and formatting.
  2. Managed to get pretty dang sick the day of the GRE and signed up for the wrong Praxis, which resulted in losing a lot of money. However, the essay questions were awesome.
  3. Cockroaches. There are no words to this irrational fear. In fact, my roommate's cat has started bringing them in the house and the other night she brought in a FLYING one and I took off running, leapt onto the bed, however, I missed, flew over the bed, and landed on the elliptical. In between laughing and crying, we heard a loud crack and we thought I broke my foot. It's huge and bruised, but I can walk on it. Thankfully the dog came and licked my face, but I was still screeching, "DID YOU KILL THE COCKROACH?!" Even upon suspicion of a cockroach, I will start screaming and leaping in the air. It's so shaming.
  4. I get Neil's perception on people and completely agree with him (despite the fact that I would love to discuss books with him, but whatever. I also have friends for that). I know so many people who have met celebrities and truly believe they are friends with those celebrities. They then follow them around with this insane belief in their head and it's terrifying. Neil is there to do his job and I think he's in the right when he puts up those boundaries between himself and people that have the potential to be insane. Not saying everyone is, but there are crazies out there. Would I want to have a meet and greet with Geddy and Alex? I don't know. I've meet some celebrities from doing films when I lived in Austin and sometimes it's fun; when they're working it's not so much (mainly because they're busy and you're just an "extra"). This would be a different experience, fast paced, and what not. I'm fine with just seeing them play live. But yeah... I'm very big into boundaries. I don't think there's anything wrong with Neil's stand about fans. If anything, I agree with him.
  5. Fridge made my day on every level possible. Jackson dog and myself also spent a good portion of the day at the puppy park and we took a walk. Also watched Shadow of the Vampire by one of my favorite cult classic directors and studied for the GRE.
  6. FYI, I just found out that March 26th was wear purple day. I had no idea. :S Shows how popular we epileptics are.
  7. Be prepared for the cuteness. Tiki and Jack are in love. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/pets/TikiandJack2.jpg MRAW!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/pets/MRAW.jpg And what do you do with a rescued bald butted cat? Fake tattoos, DUH! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v450/Garbo/pets/CIMG2947.jpg
  8. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 30 2011, 06:38 PM) QUOTE (Earthshine Emmeline @ Mar 30 2011, 08:46 AM) I haven't bought anything lately but as soon as I get some money, I'm gonna buy The Suburbs by Arcade Fire C: Don't, it's terribly underwhelming... IMO, of course. I have to agree. I was really disappointed, considering my love for "Funeral." I recently downloaded Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars and am in love.
  9. Odwalla or Naked are delicious, but the challenge is to actually count calories and feasibly you should only be intaking 1,500 calories a day plus burning calories (if you're trying to lose weight). Sadly, Odwalla and Naked have a lot of calories if you're counting calories (they should actually be a meal). So, you may be working out and burning, but if your calorie intake is high you're not actually losing, instead you may be coming out even or even gaining. Go zero calories, so Diet or the Coke Zero. And if you like coffee vouch for sugarless or fat free. I'm not the best example because I am never hungry and I love water, but there you go. My one vice is coffee, but I can substitute coffee for a meal. And pop is just not good for you. Limit it to a can or small bottle a day, if even that. It should be a treat. ETA: we should have an exercise/diet/advice/cheer each other on thread... if there isn't already one.
  10. My passport arrived and my sister sent me Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World! I shall obviously be baking this weekend!!! Heck yeah!
  11. I'm really so happy for you! I wish more people were congratulating you on this because it's such a big deal. Living with seizures is a shitty, shitty thing so the prospect of living without them is wonderful. I'm very happy for you. Mine are... as I like to say, quoting Dark Helmet, "My brains are going into my feet!" My new meds make me feel very sick.
  12. Because the one big named celebrity I met was a straight female and she copped a feel. If I want a celebrity to cop a feel, I at least want it to be a dude. Just sayin'. Oh yeah, and I'm a giddy fangirl!
  13. Is there a risk to any of the other shows? I'm not worried about NOLA (since I live so close), but seeing as my friend and I are literally traveling out of the country for their O2 performance, well... thankfully we scheduled our trip so that we arrive on the 11th and will be in Dublin for a while, but still, I'd like to know if there is a risk of dates being changed since we're supposed to go to the National Stud and Newgrange around the same time as the concert. Thanks! And I'm sorry to anyone who can't go to the Greensboro and Toledo shows. It sucks when you dish out money and then you lose it, plus for something you look forward to for so long.
  14. QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 27 2011, 02:02 PM) I am starting to hate this hip and its new parts. I swear, something ain't right; yesterday I kept a hand on it as I was walking and I could feel it grinding some. It STILL bloody hurts even though I can walk virtually without a limp. I am still tossing down Aleve and aspirin like they're Skittles. It's been a month almost. It didn't take nearly this long for me to walk pain-free after the ORIGINAL replacement, and that was a much more extensive surgery. Yes, I am behaving and not overdoing. I don't get it - nothing was done to the bone itself and the trauma to the soft tissue should be well and truly healed by now. I want my normal active life back, please! That sounds so scary and painful! So, I was supposedly kinda seeing a guy, supposedly. I'm not sure. There were no qualifications I guess. Except he wanted physical stuff, of course, like most men. Since I am me, I didn't get involved too much, i.e. not much texting, I was fun, myself, goofy, we hung out, but you know... nothing serious. He told me I was what he was looking for. Okay, fine. I am SUPER OSSUM. I have been told this by so many guys because I will hang out and never get serious, but yes, now there is nothing. I finally texted him with a simple "hey." Nope, nothing. Oh well! Same old, same old. No offence to the male gender, but seriously... quit telling those of us girls that don't have drama and are supposedly "SUPER OSSUM" that we are what you are looking for and that we are "SUPER OSSUM" and then drop us. We may seem steely and plain goofy, but we do have hearts and that does hurt us. On another note, mom is still stick and stepdad has dementia. And I did not tell the guy this because again, no drama, and I am "SUPER OSSUM."
  15. Adding that I studied an hour for the GRE. I don't take it until April, but I'm getting a head start.
  16. QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Mar 25 2011, 11:01 PM) Has he considered hitting on some helium before certain lines? Oh God, I laughed so hard. DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH RIGHT NOW! I'm nauseated so bad. I know this is from R30, but damn is Geddy's voice nice here... and might I say it... sexy. And it's a cover! Just thought I would give the old man a +1. Well, I'm giving him a break. I'm just psyched for my two shows this summer.
  17. I did it for the Muse concert so I could remember the lineup (so I just recorded a few seconds of the chorus), however I did take photos and I snagged some awesome shots. Why? It was my first Muse show, I had waited a decade, and now looking back it is an AWESOME experience to relive via the photos. Will I do it again (take photos)? Hell no. I'm debating about taking my camera to the O2, but for New Orleans I know New Orleans is pretty lax (I mean Bourbon... there are no words what I have seen down there). So, maybe no camera for the O2, but perhaps I'll bring my tiny camera for the New Orleans show. I don't know. I'd like a few shots to remember the experience, but I want to just experience the show as is. I mean, these are my first Rush shows!
  18. That reminds me... I received my Dublin tickets in a matter of works, however, I have yet to receive my New Orleans tickets. How long should I wait or should I call?
  19. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Mar 25 2011, 09:35 AM) can't they come up with some kind of a geddy voice friendly mic? if the mic senses geddy's voice cracking, it automatically mixes it and sends out a perfect pitch for whatever note he was aiming for. Or I can just stand behind him and sing those high notes. I mean, I may be a girl but a. I have an amazing rocker scream, b. I am small enough to fit behind him and c. I have long dark hair. Seriously, no one would know. I would be like... Phantom Geddy.
  20. I couldn't watch the whole thing because... there were tears. Well, I said it many yon months ago that even the best of the best (i.e. OPERA singers) even lose their ranges in the end. And that's saying something because they preserve their voices and take lessons, not to mention are hypochondriacs and are generally crazy. He does sound really bad there. Hopefully he won't sound too bad on the tour, but I agree, they should have finished Clockwork Angels and then gone on tour.
