  1. When the car in front of you has a tag ending in YYN, and you are thinking "hey, if you flip the N sideways, you have YYZ!" And I do know what Red Sector A is all about- and that is one of the reasons why I like that song. I do all 3 parts to Rush songs upon hearing them. Haven't gotten a Rush T-shirt, but I was asked who Rush was when I said I was going to see them on my birthday weekend.
  2. I put non-changing detailed. It is what they are accustomed to. The only remotely spontaneous one of the trio is Alex- but I still think he likes his big show. I wonder if too much change and improptu work would upset Neil. And it would still be a bit out of element for Geddy.
  3. Finally I will admit it: I misheard "A modern day warrior" as "Monday morning" and "The world is" as "No worries" Please understand English is my second language. "ducks and dodges the tomatoes"
  4. I like both "Driven" and "Test for Echo" a lot. And yes, I do like Dog Years
  5. I put Freddy Krueger. Back in my freshman year of college (first semester at least), I spent way too much time playing the Nightmare on Elm Street pinball machine at my school's arcade. Sometimes I would even go on the weekends.
  6. Earthshine. I love science. Only Rush would think of singing about this. Except for perhaps TMBG or Weird Al Yankovic.
  7. Red Sector A is FANTASTIC. And not just because of the theme. The music is great as well. I'd like to see it play live sometime.
  8. It was a tough decision between Fly by Night and Anthem. But I went with Fly by Night because it is just so catchy. I may have heard it before somewhere- whether on the radio, at a restaurant, or somewhere else.
  9. I debuted a new kind of program at my job yesterday. It had good attendance and reviews. So I will continue doing it.
  10. Working Man I was able to tell it was by Rush the first time I heard it. And Neil does a great job of drumming to it in live performances.
  11. Bastille Day. I am a Rose of Versailles nut and would love to make an AMV of this sometime.
  12. Hard to pick between Closer to the Heart and Xanadu. Went with the first one- but Xanadu is awesome as well.
  13. Freewill. Has to be my favorite Rush song with the possible exception of Limelight.
  14. Limelight. It is neck to neck with Freewill for my favorite Rush song period.
  15. This was a tough one. On one hand, I loved Presto at the Time Machine tour. I was waving my invisible magic wand every time Geddy sang those lyrics. I would say it is one of my favorite lesser known Rush songs. On the other hand, The Pass is the only Rush song that has evoked an emotional response for me. It is mainly due to the theme- but also the time period when the video was done. So I went with The Pass.

  17. I put Summertime Blues. It is fun. It is peppy. It has been covered by a lot of people. And it is the only one I was familiar with
  18. I have pet mice. I am a girl. I am not afraid of mice. I am that girl who has pet mice. I can imagine the women who like Rush to not be afraid of mice and perhaps have pet mice or rats as well.
  19. When you go around looking for examples of the number 2112!!!
  20. I put myself at the Casey Kasem level. I have been a Rush fan for several years now. I do have several of their songs and the Rush application on my iPod Touch. I have used Rush songs as examples in other message boards and websites. I enjoyed their Time Machine concert waaaaaaaay too much. I belt the songs very loud when they come on the radio. But my desert island band is still Queen.
  21. Back around 1990, there was a very annoying (and borderline creepy) commercial for Calvin Klein's Obsession. An old "Chock Full O'Nuts" commercial that had a talking coffee bean gave me the creeps as well. Basically, any commercial that engages in male bashing or mysogyny.

  23. I put YYZ. It is cool. It is about an airport. I love the Morse-coding. I hope next time there is Game Zone we can play it on Guitar Hero.
  24. When someone tells you that she is going to the Rush concert the day before her birthday, and you reply "Who?". Add points if the person describes Rush as "progressive rock band from Canada" and you still have no clue who they are.
