  1. I also heard some obscure Frank Marino in the mix too.
  2. I see from your pic that I had not arrived in my seat yet. Probably finishing my beer over in P&L... Lol
  3. Yes it was! I was there as well... April Wine was the opening act.
  4. Funny you should ask that. I have lived in the "Alley" for a long time & have seen many many tornados. It's all about knowing what to do when the conditions are ripe. Unfortunately, thanks to that Storm Chasers show there are an enormous amount of amateurs now attempting to chase storms. This is causing big traffic problems which have recently resulted in casualties due to lots of irresponsible behavior. In fact one example some of our colleagues observed during the last outbreak was that of a pickup truck occupied by some youngsters with two individuals standing in the bed shooting video with small cameras & phones as they travelled down the highway at a high rate of speed. No safety harnesses or anything. Prime example of why I don't go ito the field anymore, drivers around here are stupid enough in normal conditions. This was the same storm that changed directions & caused the deaths of several veteran chasers, as well as amateurs. This is not a game folks! Oh by the way, I just happen to work at a facility that specializes in this sort of "natural science".

QUOTE (snowdogged @ Jul 26 2012, 01:44 PM) QUOTE (Dog Tales @ Jul 26 2012, 01:00 PM) Unfortunately the video cuts off the part where the wife shoves the camera up his @ss & he gets a free colonoscopy Hi, Dog Tales, this may sound strange to you but it would be a good idea if you were to change your avatar. It is very flashy, sort of like a strobe light effect. The only reason that I am mentioning this is because I know of at least one person who frequents this forum who can sometimes have epileptic seizures because of flashing lights and things like that. I hope you will take this into consideration. Thanks, Pat No problem, I'll get right on it. http://www.psychologicalscience.org/onlyhuman/uploaded_images/pat2-742144.jpg

We're in first place baby! Sox are hot right now, unlike those pathetic, crappy Northsiders Even though as a kid, I saw way more Cub games than Sox, I hereby relinquish my fan status for the Northside hacks. Anymore it's all about going to Wrigley to party & not to win ballgames.
  10. Several... The Garden is actually a remake of Garden Road The Ebony Gospel Choir will be accompanying them this tour in addition to the orchestra. There is an opening act. Guess who it is?
  11. Not just an orchestra for certain dates but also the Ebony Gospel Choir has been added as well. Another rumour is that Mini Rush (not Rash) will be the opener.
  12. QUOTE (burgeranacoke @ Apr 9 2012, 10:45 PM) I am going to be a bit preachy here... There is no reason to speed, ever. end rant, now CSB I have received one speeding ticket in my life. 1978. I was driving to the Texxas Jam on the Interstate. I was pulled over for doing 62 in a 55. A road you can now travel at 80. Now I know that I did not get pulled over because there were a few long haired teens in the car and i was being passed at the time. The reason was because I was driving this beast of a muscle car: http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k623/burgeranacoke/honda_civic_1977.jpg 1978 (July 1): Texxas Music Festival, Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas (General Admission - $13.00) Blackstone-Winner of the State-Wide "Battle of the Bands"for opening slot on the 1978 Texxas Jam Walter Egan Van Halen (second appearance in Texas) Eddie Money Atlanta Rhythm Section Head East Journey Heart Ted Nugent Aerosmith Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush Note: Ted Nugent joined Aerosmith on stage for a rousing rendition of "Milk Cow Blues" Note: For comic relief between a couple of acts Cheech & Chong entertained the crowd Note: The high temperature was 104 degrees that day (over 120 degrees on the field). To protect the Cotton Bowl they covered the surface with black tarp. Over 100,000 people were in attendance on the hottest day of the decade. The concert had hose sprinklers around the field edge to cool people off and they hosed the crowd down with firehoses from the stage. First aid stations were busy. This was the FIRST southern stadium rock show since ZZ Top played to 80,000 people at UT Austin and tore up the field. There was never supposed to be another stadium rock show in Texas again. I was there & we did not get pulled over for speeding. Actually we literally asked the cops who were stationed behind our seats, if we could "fire up". Gotta admit they were completely baffled by someone asking them if it was OK to smoke weed. They actually let us do it. Couldn't believe that one.

  14. I have followed this band since 1976, saw the 2112 tour & just about every one since. In the early days there was no "pre"knowledge of setlists, unless you knew someone associated with the band... not even local DJs (whom I knew several) had any idea or connections. You just went to the shows, smoked a mess of weed & went WOW!!!! In the early 90s, however, things changed. I think it was the RTB tour where I actually knew what they were going to play from start to finish (maybe it was Counterparts tour, can't remember). At the time I felt "special", like I had some inside info & a key to the band's vault. Every tour since then I have always been "spoiled" & known what was going to be played... in fact it has become a habit to "spoil" every major concert I see anymore. A few months ago I went to see Bob Seger & this time I had not even the slightest inclination to check setlists or length of show. I pretty much guessed the show length to within 5 minutes just based on instinct, but had no idea whatsoever what was going to be played. I gotta admit it was an absolute blast... just like the "old days" (except without the weed lol). This time for Rush's new tour, no setlists for me. Gonna rely on the element of surprise entirely.

King Crimson Don't know too much about King Crimson. Are they secretive as well? That's why you don't know anything about them
