  1. I am in such deep credit card debt over the same kind of thinking others here have expressed. I did a "tour" w. the band last fall:indy, chic, detroit, columbus, s. louis. Then in Dec. in Houston. Lastly in Nashville. I am soooo afraid they will retire or worse, expire. (My one prayer is that I die before any of them do.!!!) lol. I do not regret spending the money. I treated some of my friends to the shows, so that was cool. I absolutely love CA. It's such excellent music. I only wish that they had done one song with the strings that they did not: Losing It. I do not know if that has ever been done on tour (I took a 15 year hiatus from concerts after I paid good money to have Axl Rose call us dumbfux for attending his show.) whatever. My friend begged me to take him to see S&A in "07. Boy do I love that album now. I especially love Vapor Trails in spite of wide loud criticisms of it's recording quality. So I will wait with baITED breath for the next tour. Idc if they make new music...just pbring on the old and this fan will be happy. BTW...IF they tour again...when they do...I will give anyone who can get me a meet n greet a grand. It would be worth it to me. So glad to share with you all. Let's keep RUSHing on...Furthur! Brahahaha
  2. Geddy Lee does something with his mouth...his lips...between lines of song that simply thrills me to no end. Actually causes juices to flow and pants have to get changed. Jeez...how come you can't see this? Yes girls do Love Rush...especially me!
  3. Here's my fantasy: I see Rush on Sat. Sept 22 in St Louis. The lucky winner of this fine little trip gets a free ticket for the show. So as soon as it is over we jump in my car and drive 13 hours to Red Rocks to see Furthur and hang with the heads. Drunks, straight people...need not apply. I don't care if you are gay. Lol! So you gotta help me drive. Please do not respond if you are not serious. Plus you got to be able to stay a day maybe 2 in Colo. I will need to see your licsense. Oh-also you got to have bathed before you get in my car. Hippies are fine-actually desired-but not the ones who smell bad. So sorry! I will provide the transport and shelter. You supply your own food, and Furthur ticket.
  4. PRIMUS Saw them last nite at the Louisville Palace...go there if you ever can. Eye candy galore. So I never got exposure to them before except a song here and there. Really good music, I found the video too repetitive for may tastes; obvious cult following. Pretty cool. Les did no RUSH, tho.
  5. Awww-handle with kid gloves....thank you so much, sweetie. You give me hope. Maybe my 'love of my life' guy is lurking right here in TRF! Tee hee. If so, plz let him be over the age of 45, through at least 1 or2 divorces, and have facial hair. Bald is okay. Beer gut is okay. Can't take a shower, brush teeth or launder own clothes...NOT okay. No dirties allowed. Nor atheists. All else is negotiable. You all have been kind to me. Thanks and yes I will hang out here more. Got some shows coming up to talk about. Was out for the summer due to major surgery but all is behind me now and I am as good as new but without tags, for all the e bay buds out there. Gonna see Primus, Carl Palmer, and Furthur since the boys are in production, HOPEFULLY. Clockwork Angels...bring it on.
  6. try to get to a tab-con or join a tab-con group. Those folks are dedicated to reproducing Rush music. Look on ebay or other sites and you can find CD's with all the music except for one instrument...yours! Oh yeah-even the fellas drop a note or miss a word in the song. Saw them 7 times on the TM tour. Venue can be the difference between a great show and one that is par excellent.
  7. Well ya know I was a young teen when all that music came out (and I thought Geddy Lee's voice was too high...back then). So what is this? My son is also my concert buddy. We will be seeing Primus, Carl Palmer of ELP, and Furthur (2 of whom are Greatful Dead members). My kid dragged out my old turntable and he is buying 12 inch vinyl LP's. I mean I don't really care about going back to the old but great technology, but this maybe apparent resurgence of interest in the old music is prog rock? Or am I confused? Well I have done Zep and Floyd to death so I am burnt on them. Early Genesis is truly cool-good to hear my kid play the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway; Tull's Thick as a Brick. I listened to Uriah Heep a few weeks ago-did I really love them? (at one time, yes). Oh oh oh. True story: son n I went to see YES and bought a meet n greet. (Why oh why can I never buy a meet n greet w. the boys? sniff sniff). So we are in the front row and I am dancing my a..off to the fine music, wearing my RUSH Farewell to Kings shirt. After the show, I come to Alan White for his signature and he asks me if I want him to sign Neil's name on the shirt...I said sure with a big grin. That shirt is going on e-bay for $200. AFTER I DIE!!!!!!!!! Love you all
  8. Gee whiz, Rush fans...where are the thousands of guys for this one of seven girl? Yes I am in the 1% division here (too old to tell, but not older than God..yet! Lol). So I go to this website and sign up to meet someone and got this response from Mr. Wonderful. He was drop dead gorgeous, but not a Rush fan(first red flag. teehee.) He tells me all this stuff and I am so excited becuase it was too good to be true. Yep. Literally. He is really clever: Makes up reasons he can't meet (away overseas for his job), he goes to a church website in my town and claims he is a member and uses names of the pastors as his spiritual advisors, describes how we could go to_____;just fill in the blank of any local park, etc. Come to find out it's a scammer. These people are often located in foreign lands. The less sophisticated ones use horrible grammar, and english. My more sophisticated one had pretty good written english. He must have known I was not an easy mark because he never tried to ask for money. They all work up to that. They go to modeling sites and lift pictures to post. It is organized crime and at least half of the men on dating websites are criminals...and probably 90% of the "sexy" females are porn actresses. After going through a realationship with a narcissist...no not your conceited boyfriend type...a true clinical diagnosis narcissist....I am burnt to crispy critter land. Seems like there are so many haters, liars and theives out there, it's nearly impossible to find a good guy. "...but I still cling to hope..."
  9. Well I still get really high when he sings on Sweet Miracles and breaks into the interlude...he is supposedly singing "salvation" but I can't hear it. If I am not in love with that, then I am more in love with that thing he does with his lips...kinda like when they say you purse your lips...don't know how to describe it but that movement or motion of that sweet mouth of his caused me to FALL IN LOVE. Morphed from fan to fanatic.
  10. For your poor tired heart and psyche, I offer you the joy of white light. I keep a candle burning in my room most of the time just to make it smell good, and it helps me to center and pray. BDD is tricky stuff. It is such a big liar but to the victim, it feels very real...yes?The media worsens the problem to an extreme;yet that is not the root of this. Victimization or trauma that occurs early on will color the perspective for the remainder of one's life. That being said, there is still hope. It's a slow process, often painful, but try to remember that emotional pain is only that. If you can allow yourself to FEEL the pain, then you will see that it will not kill you. You will probably feel like killing yourself, but the feelings will not kill you. Versus the death of all emotion that I once fell to, I found I'd rather suffer the depth of despair and feel it all the way. My heart beats in concert with you. Try not to be afraid. Smash the mirrors. Read. Read. Read. You could imagine yourself running parallel to Neil in Ghost Rider. He rode to kill the pain...gee it only took him well over a year and riding thru at least 4 different countries to get to a point of healing. What is your vehicle for survival? If you can find that, then you can do it until you are DONE. Then...BDD can go eff itself. Many blessings to you.
  11. There are lots of ppl doing Rush music, and writing up the tabs. Try "tab-con" or rush tab-con. Something like that. Dont know where you live but if you are any where near WI, you might wanna check a tab con out. I am going for my first one in abt 6 weeks time!
  12. No way. There will be a Clockwork Angels album...tour for that (2112 minus 100)...then there's R-40....smile. So I think we will get at least 2 more. On the other hand, life throws curve balls. Who knows?
  13. At the tender age of 55+, i would say go to the concert. What? say my more mature, focused and working friends. Why oh why advise a 17 year old to pass up an opportunity such as this? (school) Because he/she is right. They boys are getting older. They get tired because they play their little hearts out and give it ALL to the fans when they are up on stage. They will not be able to sustain it for a huge number of future years. 1978:I was going to nursing school and my classmate was in tears. She said the ONLY reason she was becoming a nurse was because her mom wanted her to. Worked with her in 1989-she had an unhappy marriage, hated her career, and eventually got diseases of the lungs impacted by the surgical anesthetic gasses exposed to for years at work...requiring lung transplant. f**k it-have the most fun you can at age 17, grow into what you want to do. School will always be there. Live Rush will not.
  14. You know what? I saw the show 4 times and will see it again 4 times more, gods willing. Seeing Alex do Working Man at the end of each show makes it ALL worth it (and my true love is Geddy but you just gotta love that Alex).
  15. Hi ya ladies. It's Gramma, here (You know me...I am in the <1.9 % of people of TRF who is over a certain age). Long time I no be here but I had a broken foot and was off work. It is cool to have this job that allows me to check in with all of you. WELCOME to the new members. This is my favorite site and hope you all find it so. Ah my fond memories of England. Best concerts in my whole life. Zep at Earl's Court, Floyd at Knebworth, Stones at Earl's Court, and many others at Wembly Stadium. (This was in 1974-1976 when many of you were still in mama's belly). Peace to all. You are in for such a treat to see the show coming to you.
