  1. QUOTE (The Gorsk @ Apr 3 2011, 01:32 PM) Great review! Nice not to hear anything negative about the setlist, etc. Can't wait to see the pics! Only 75 more wakeups till Rush comes back to Phoenix!! Nice Spectrum reference! That was where I saw my first Rush (and Yes and Genesis, etc,etc..) show on the Moving pictures warm-up tour in '80. Great review! That's all well & good but truth be told- there were 3-4 weak songs in the 1st half of the show, the sound was far from perfect & Geddy's voice was off in his upper register- for a band like RUSH THAT IS ALL ABOUT PERFECTION & SOUND this is unacceptable. The second set however, was astonishing & the way the entire show should have been, period. Even the most die hard fans should be able to recognize when things are not going %100, however that doen't take away from RUSH being one of the greatest & most enjoyable bands on earth! Even when not perfect there are still miles ahead of most bands.
  2. My Review: of course great show- had front row on the side right in the sound "sweet" spot & I must say that the first half of the set was no where near as good as previous Rush shows- it was loud, for 1 thing, VERY loud! My ears are still ringing & thats all well & good but the sound was painfully loud & "Flat" sounding & Geddy's voice was rough, he notoriously takes a while to warm-up vocally, but he really didn't during the first set-his lower register was fine, but his upper was all over the place. My buddy had second row on the side directly across the arena from us & he said he couldn't hear the guitar at all! We could, it was just too painful! Technichally, everyone was incredible of course, and the sound problems weren't their fault, but there was also about 3-4 songs in the first half that were pretty lite & honestly a bit "boring"- I understand they cant please everyone & it's great they've been mixing up the songs each tour , but "Faithless?" I love "S & A"- I mean really love it! & they translate awesome live as they played most of the record on the "S &A" Tour. I Love all but a couple songs like that one- it's just weak imo. How bout at least "The Main Monkey Business?" that would rule! Anyway, the intermission ended up being a blessing, because they seemed to have adjusted whatever sound issues they were having- I heard it the second "Tom Sawyer"kicked in- "WOW!" heavy as hell, clear as hell & no longer painful to the ears- all the songs had that full, "rich" sound "RUSH" is known for & the setlist had no more weak spots, I mean- none! & that was the most ripping version of "Working Man" I've ever heard! it was like Metallica meets "Working Man!" Overall, terrific show as always, thank god there was no warm-up band & they played so many tunes, but it was like the first set was their warm-up for their second- I know some fans are so hardcore they feal Rush can do no wrong- for me their like my 5-6th favorite band & I really enjoy their shows, but I had 2 other "hardcore" fans with me that agreed %100 with what I said.Oh, did i mention Peart's drum solo should be named the ninth wonder of the world!!! Thank god a band like Rush is still around!
  3. Got Front row- 1st section from stage- reg. price! on aisle no less- should be best seats in the house or close to it anyway! Hell yeesss! Btw- every time I've gone to Greensboro closer is better, period. No matter where u are sound is more powerful & clearer & does not sail over your head as with other venues when u get too close.

Just like it was Bush-League when Guns and Roses used to cancel and don't compare rush to guns and posers...they cancel shows with no regard for anyone but their worthless selves. drug issues, pussy-like attitudes and egos are not part of rush, never have been. different class of human beings were talking about. U dont know what the hell ur talking about- I've seen GnR like 8x since 2007 & they've had no cxed shows- yes they come on a bit late sometimes & sometimes very late but Axl has always been a night owl- true fans know this & then they put on f***ing mind-blowing shows of up to between 2.5 up to 3.5+ hrs. long sometimes- Axl & the band sound simply outstanding , but they do little to no advertising, interviews, etc. so people have no idea & just half listen to media bs -It's pussies that can't handle staying up a little late for an incredible rock show- this aint the Mickey Mouse Club! If it ain't the Mickey Mouse show and you are over 11, then type out WHOLE FUKKIN WORDS! Goddamn kids. assuming sarcasm- but just in case, the mods edited it- wish i was a kid again though!

  6. Concert was insane but what the hell is the problem with this venue?? Dont they know by now how the hell to handle traffic? We we're shitting our pants 2 miles from the arena at 7:30- I called the arena & the lady said"We are well aware of all the problems, sorry you will likely miss half the show" have a good nite" Seriously!! so at that point I said "f**k it!!" i didnt drive 6 hrs. to miss half the show! If the venue doesn't give a rat's ass about the fans missing it then I'll do whatever i have to to get there on time- which i did -weaving in & out of traffic & using lanes i wasn't"supposed to" another words i drove like a f***ing madman! Anyway, i finally got us up to where they were "parking" people albeit at snails pace & shouted out the window that we had VIP parking "where the hell is it?"-(which we luckily did). I zipped straight to the back of the lot & then we sprinted to the seats right in time for the opening cartoon! Whew!! We made it! Thank god the band waited till about 7:55 to hit the stage. I felt terrible for all the poor folks still locked down in traffic miles from the arena who know now many of which missed up to half the show- my buddy thanked me profusely for my Ballsy driving tactics, but i was left with no choice by Jiffy Lube Arena if i wanted to see the whole show. The way out took us just 5 min. thankfully since most of the audience stayed for the last cartoon after the band left the stage, but we learned our lesson & high-tailed it the f**k it out of there!!
