The Gorge is in Washington State, middle of nowhere about 2.5 hours east of Seattle in Quincy, Wa. Having been to the Gorge multiple times and then hitting my first red rocks concert in 2010, I can say that they are both very unique venus. The gorge is on a desert plateau over looking the Columbia River and basalt cliffs. Its very scenic and being so isolated adds to the effect of the concert. It can be windy at times, but its not blowing dust or anything. A great spot. Red rocks is a very unique place and I had always heard about its dynamic sound quality, however sound wise I didnt notice anything spectacular. Both of these places are sweet, I recommend seeing shows at both locations :)

Let's hope they play red rocks and the gorge in 2013 - These are the two premier outdoor venus in the US. Vegas was awesome but I prefer being outside - lol

Vegas was great ! I was expecting the worst from an old facility and such however the opposite happened. Yes this place is old and not exactly fancy but its pretty small with all things considered. Its a deep bowl and the sound was great. It was a bit muddy at first but the sound team cleaned it up during the first set. With that being said I didnt really hear the string section at all since we were near the back of the stadium. The guys were really into this show ! Nice and tight, comparing this to the first show @ Redrocks/2010 was no contest, they looked so ready to be done at that gig and the show itself had lots of issues. Kinda wish I had spent a couple more bucks to get closer to the stage this time out, but it still was great from our distant seats. The lighting was fantastic... Most of the songs worked for me in this somewhat interesting set list, I still dont think Red Sector A translates well live and I wish at some point that they dump it.. So much other great material to play instead. Just saying. Cheers-

I balked at the $50 Retro moving pictures t-shirt prices, but I just noticed the Rush Charcoal Alchemy shirt and its pretty awesome. Might have to get that instead

The show was great although it was clear the guys were not having a great time. Even on an off night they still sound great !
