  1. No question this show was spectacular. We saw them in Vegas last year and this show was definitely better. I'm sure it helps that they are taking a day off between every show now. Alex's Freewill solo was jaw dropping. Can't wait until the next tour!
  2. Interesting. We were at the show last night. The first Rush concert I've attended in 28 years. I would say overall it was a fantastic show and the band was on. However, I noticed in particular during Neil's solo not everything was as precise and connected as he likes to have it. I remember reading in the "Roadshow" book how (obviously) he is always striving for perfection but sometimes he's not "on". For whatever reason, maybe physical, mental or whatever. (who knows maybe one of his kick drums wasn't functioning properly- I did notice in the first set his tech was on stage in the front of the riser working on something near Neils feet.) I'm not saying he or the rest of them were not "on", but I did notice some moments that he seemed a bit fatigued. (during the solo) There were a few solos that Alex played that it seemed like he was struggling a bit, same with Ged's voice in a few spots..but hey, they're human, right? I mean, it's unbelivable that they can all play with the intensity and endurance they do. Like I said, overall it was an amazing show and seeing MP in it's entirety was amazing. We had great seats but the only downside was the guy behind us that was drinking what smelled like straight Jim Beam all night. By the MP set he was knocking into everyone around us and generally being an ass. By 2112, he was sitting in his chair, vomitting in his cup and eventually passed out. Oh well, I guess you reap what you sow and I'm sure he will remember nothing from the show. I remembered at that moment why I hadn't been to an Arena show in so long. The band was amazing but there's always "that guy". No wonder Neil doesn't like to meet "fans". I could just imagine this guy going up to him going "dude, you are my hero, wow, you're like a god. that drum solo part in Tom Sawyer is so amazing. Can I have your number and email?" (sorry, I got a little offtrack ;-) Again, OVERALL...KILLER show. The new stuff sounds great and they really gave the fans their money's worth and then some last night. The film shorts are HILARIOUS!!!!
  3. Hello all! I'm new here! My name is Craig and I've been a Rush fan since 1981. My first show was on the Exit..Stage Left tour in Atlanta, The Omni in 81. I was 11 years old and I went to the show by myself! I was on the floor and could barely see the tops of Geddy and Alex's heads! I went back the next year for the Signals tour. Amazing. Unfortunately for me I lost interest after Grace Under Pressure for about the next 20 years. After I bought Rush in Rio DVD I realized RUSH was back!!! (well, actually, they never left, I was back!) Anyway, I'm 40 now and I have my wife into the band and we are desperately trying to get to the show tonight. Still no tickets, I have about $200 to spend. I'm in the mortgage business and for those of you who know Vegas know this is a very tough market, so finances are tough. Needless to say, the fact that they are playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety is HUGE. That album had a major impact on me growing up and inspired me to learn the guitar. They are the most incredible musicians on the planet. PERIOD. So, here's where you, the true fans help. I haven't seen Rush in 28 years and haven't been to Arena show in over 15 years. What is the best and safest way for us to get good tickets? Nosebleeds are NOT an option. For me this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I want to be as close to the stage as possible within reason. Not sure what $200 will get me, but I am hopeful! I've talk to a few on Craig's list but that is a concern as I'm sure there are plenty of scammers out there. I'll probably go to the venue this afternoon and check with the box office.. What do you guys think? Looking for some good advice on how to get in to see this AMAZING Band. TONIGHT!!! Thank you very much. "....this is the Spirit of the Radio"
