  2. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Mar 1 2006, 10:58 AM)Roger is touring in the Summer. For all you Irish fans, he's coming to the Showgrounds in Cork June 29th!!!! Not to mention Robert Plant and Roxy Music too. Gonna be a great summer!!! So far no North American tour dates are scheduled, but you can bet that there will be NOTHING stopping me from catching him when he comes around. According to this Roger Waters Tour website, he will be playing all of Dark Side Of The Moon. I do hope he decides to throw in a fair chunk of Amused To Death material as well, that album tops almost every piece of Pink Floyd work in my opinion.

QUOTE (D-13 @ Feb 8 2006, 03:12 PM) QUOTE (Moonraker @ Feb 8 2006, 02:31 PM) Normally my workout music is to classical music, we have a pianist for my dance classes that keeps everything together. Much more condusive to dancing then recorded music which cant adapt to how the situation goes. how cool! any Felix Mendelssohn? I think he writes his own material

  10. QUOTE (D-13 @ Feb 7 2006, 04:22 PM) Yeah i'm pretty bummed out. They are only coming to Orillia and the age there is 19 for casinos. It doesn't show what venue it's at yet but most of the concerts have been held in small halls or casinos so far across the states... Thats in August. I turn 19 in September. One freaking month away....grrrrr When I went to go see Nine Inch Nails in Reno, the concert was inside the Hilton's casino floor. The line to get into the place stretched out across the casino floor, but there didnt seem to be any kind of security checking to make sure people werent underage in line. I remember seeing a few teenagers in line and they werent thrown out, keeping in mind you have to be 21+ in Neveda to gamble. As long as you dont stray out of the line to the show to go to the slots, I dont see there being any problem. Then again, I dont know how the Canada works in those kinds of situations, but I dont think it would be much different. If nothing else, call the venue and ask them if you have to be 19+ to get into the show.

How exactly are you going to be able to determine the north american standard? To the best of my knowledge, there is no census that records only those countries participating in North America. Not to mention the fact that Canada doesnt use the standard measuring system like the USA does, they use metric. Well first of all, I need to check on the stats on who has posted in this thread. Then I need to compare those stats to a standard deviation. Unless of course we dismiss those stats on being useless. Ahh I see, so in essence it really is only constituting those who have posted on the board. That only makes me wonder though about our European friends and those outside of North America, they dont get to participate in the standard. But then again, you have to draw the line somewhere, you cant just ask if something jives with the world itself, those would lead to far too confusing an outcome. Rush is a north american band. We must satisfy these numbers before we continue to the rest of the world. Although this may seem biased, we must account for this before we compare the stats on a whole. Ahh, of course all things must come back to Rush. If this were a Scorpians board, we could make everything jive with the German standard, or if INXS were our common bond, the Australian Standard would be used. One must wonder if the nations south of the Rio Grande are pulling thier weight to help with the North American census readings. I really wish they would voice thier opinions more.

  18. Just saw Thomas Dolby last night, the first time he has been on stage in 14 years, and his first solo concert in 25 years. Various analog and digital synthesizers were used, no organic instruments. I am not entirely familiar with his full body of work, but he played for about 40 minutes, all older songs. During She Blinded Me With Science, his 14 year old daughter came down, dressed in a mans suit and glasses (to look like he used to?) and helped put the music together. Very good show though, I feel kinda privledged to have seen the first show of this new wave pioneer in a quarter century.
  19. I'm going to see Thomas Dolby tomorrow night.
