  1. Dude, everyone knows Roger Waters can beat the crap out of David Gilmour in an ultimate fighter championship.
  2. Speaking of Beatles ripoffs, the song "Look What You've Done" by Jet has the exact same introduction as "Golden Slumbers" off Abbey Road. Its such a disappointment whenever that song comes on the radio, I think I'm gonna get a rare Beatles track, but instead I get that one.
  3. QUOTE (D-13 @ Apr 8 2006, 02:02 PM) someone...please....take my credit card away from me! I still dont own a credit card, everything I buy is either in cash or debit.
  4. I still havent read a single book nor seen more then the first movie...
  5. QUOTE (Mental Vortex @ Apr 6 2006, 05:48 PM) Blue Oyster Cult last Saturday and Buckcherry last night. Both great shows. Pics of the BOC show and a short review are here: http://www.solarfederation.net/images/conc...6/04_01/boc.htm Ohh good to hear BOC was good, I will be seeing them Monday.
  6. I would really like to see the appearance of Carnage in a Spiderman movie. With the inclusion of Venom, that may just happen if there is a next one.
  7. I wish I were alive when making music meant you had to have to actually be able to write your own material, and it wasnt just a showcase of a single person's talent over anyone elses creative input in the project.
  8. QUOTE (DonnaWanna @ Apr 5 2006, 03:23 AM) OzzFest After what Sharon Osbourne did to Iron Maiden at last years Ozzfest, there is no way you would ever, ever ever ever, find me at an Ozzfest show. http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9526&hl=
  9. QUOTE (D-13 @ Apr 4 2006, 05:53 PM) Trying to go to VailHalen this week on the thursday...I have to see if my friend can go...either that or a film festival. Next up after that...Hawksley Workman with Sarah Harmer on the 8th...and later thats coming up I want to go to Chad Vangaalen on the 30th of May... Just wish I had more music friends! Cool group of shows, yeah I wish I had some more music friends down here as well. I have a few that like the newer stuff, but they are all the groupie type, so its kinda weird being there when 3 of em are talking about some group of cute guys that look english on the other side of the room.
  10. Ohh thats right, I have a few shows I'm going to this month. Not a big month like March, but theres a few. 4/10 - Blue Oyster Cult @ The Fillmore 4/15 - Thomas Dolby @ The Independent 4/28 - Hard Fi/ The Rakes @ Slim's 4/29 - The Editors/ stellastarr* @ Mezzanine
  11. Shes gonna need to gain some weight back and get off the drugs/anorexia/whatever turned her into a stick lady. As for a modeling career, the only reason you would have one is based off your popularity which is falling FAST.
  12. Locke may not have gotten a good enough look at it, but you can. http://lost.cubit.net/pics/2x17/blastDoorMap.jpg
  13. QUOTE (tick @ Dec 8 2005, 05:25 AM) well i just want to hear the feed back on this one.i love this band, even though ive only been a fan about 8 months, believe it or not.i recently found out here that alot of neil fans dont like portnoy, well i do.the guy can play, and ya know what he has nothing to do with neil, neil is the master ,always was, always will be!people say dream theater steals from everyone,i dont care they rock! lastly scenes from a memory is one of the greatest albums of its kind ever written.plain and simple dream theater is an awesome band! Consider it done.
  14. QUOTE (tick @ Mar 30 2006, 02:52 PM) hmm, my thread was removed ? well anyway the show last night was awesome and there was a rush medley of sorts. (dont feel like explaining it again.) No offense tick, I moved it to the concert review section as thats what it was. There are a lot of people who complain about Dream Theater, and to try to minimize that, I merge any multiple DT threads into this one, or into another thread if the topic deserves to be moved there. Just trying to keep the redudency level to a minimum
  15. Got to see almost every band I wanted this month, but there are still a few more thanks to Noisepop going on. Tonight its The Herms, Citizens Here And Abroad @ The Fillmore Tomorrow its Film School, The Cloud Room, Birdmonster @ Slim's Saturday its The Helio Sequence, Band Of Horses, Halou @ Mezzanine and I havent decided yet on a sunday show, but Im thinking I should probably take that day off and get some homework done, lol.

  17. I'm no loser tonight. Going to see Metric at the Fillmore.
  18. Narrow it down to one song? There are many but if I had to just one, it would be Get Out Of My House off of The Dreaming.
  19. Only took 1 pic because my phone is starting to get filled up with pictures, but last night at the Arctic Monkeys @ The Great American Music Hall was great. This place is small, only holding 600 people, so it was like seeing this really huge band in The opening band, The Spinto Band was kinda on the mellower side, but all the guys in that band were really getting into the music so it made it very enjoyable. Once Arctic Monkeys got on though, everyone started pushing up to the front. The crowd was very into the music, pushing and shoving to get to the front the entire time. Though it didnt quite live up to the hype in my opinion (which has been set so high that I dont think any band could do that), it was still an incredible show. A friend of mine got a drumstick, another got a setlist, I got a limited edition lithograph they made for the show (#43 of 100). Heres my one picture when the singer came over to where I was standing and sung in the mic with the bass player http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/EvanMacD03/Photo82.jpg Can you believe that people were lined up at 11am outside to see this show, and that people were trying to buy scalped tickets for over $100?? It was a $15 ticket.
  20. I love how its finally a fresh idea in television today. All too much you see shows rehashing already spent ideas with a different twist reflecting todays pop culture, you never see shows like this one do something truely original. Oh wait...... http://www.curtalliaume.com/Hall.jpg
  21. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Mar 9 2006, 09:41 AM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Mar 9 2006, 08:45 AM) Even though I hate reality shows I'd check this one out once. Still, no amount of kick ass makeup will make one know what it's like to be another race. While that's true, there are things like a white man walking down the street and shopping where everyone thinks he's a black man and seeing how he's treated differently. Then there's a black man who dressed as a white man got a job as a bartender in a very white neighborhood and heard people talking about black people while they thought he was white. I think it will certainly give these people at least a sense of what it's like anyway, more so than just hearing people talk about race. It's definitely a pretty radical concept anyway... A concept that Eddie Murphy originally thought up for SNL over 20 years ago, lol. Seriously though, it is actually a good idea for a show, and an interesting direction, but I kinda feel that they are overdramatizing the cultural divide between blacks and whites, especially with so many other minorities on the rise. Then again that could just be my reaction from living in San Francisco, where ethnic culture is so much more diverse then most other regions of the US.
  22. Thats the reason you dont see Walmarts in any kind of close proximity to a major city, because they have found thier niche at moving into small towns and being able to supply everything for everyone. Sure this may be great for you as the consumer, but what it really hurts is all the local business's that have to close shop because all of their customers are shopping at a Walmart. This becomes an extremely unhealthy thing for competitive business in small towns. New businesses will find it much more difficult to start up and hold on to a customer base as Walmart continues to grow bigger and bigger. Unless you like the idea of one giant mother corperation supplying you with all your daily necessities and having total control over what you can and cant own.
  23. QUOTE (thestand @ Mar 8 2006, 06:57 AM) QUOTE (2112-Rob-2112 @ Mar 8 2006, 08:37 AM) i think beutiful mind deserved to win..i fell asleep during lord of the rings..aha And im like the biggest movie nerd ever..when i fall alseep in a movie its never good. How could you fall asleep during any of the LOTR films? I mean, even if you put it on mute, the cinematography is amazing, which should be enough anyway. I mean, I take classes in screenwriting, and a direction/cinematography, so maybe I have a little more depth in the subject, but still; I can't think of anyone 'falling asleep' during it. I went to see LOTR with a group of 5 friends when the movie first came out, and 2 of them fell asleep. Personally I couldnt look away from the screen, I was enthralled. I have a feeling though it wasnt the movie that put them to sleep....
