  1. Tyler Smith says the Cowboys should have Super Bowl expectations. He didn't specify if he meant playing in it, or just having good seats at the game.

  2. That's about par for the course for this organization. The fact that Anthem didn't know about Broon's hidden remix says a lot, unfortunately. It's like my high school that had a 20th reunion but only contacted people via Facebook, when barely 20% of the class was even on that platform...then after it was over they complained about how few people showed up.

  3. Sorry to get everyone excited with a new post (I always think there's an update whenever there's a new post in the thread! ) I wonder if we are getting one of the full Toronto '84 gigs, I hope there's a "bonus" track with Afterimage from the first leg of the tour. It'd be GREAT to have the full GUP album live

  4. Hi HemiBeers. Thanks ever so much for taking a look at my efforts and I very much appreciate the compliments!! Thank you. Believe it or not, even though ByTor & The Snowdog is an absolute Rush classic, I never considered incorporating it. I COULD'VE done, as you say, as the beginning is indeed 'chordy', AND it rocks so it could've slotted in somewhere between one uptempo riff and another... but I never gave it a go. It's probably the one that should've and could've been included, you're right!! For ages, Something For Nothing was also in there, I enjoyed doing it, but for some reason it flowed better when I removed it. I think there was enough there without it.

  5. Hi Jarg. Thanks again for all the compliments. I take your point about how well the 'main composition' transfers to piano (or not). It's a discussion I think I might be better equipped to have later, once I've done much much more of the project and can reflect on how I feel about it. I must say if I'm not satisfied myself that it sounds like a piano piece I won't upload it. I actually did a lot of work on Fountain Of Lamneth but couldn't find a way to realise Geddy's vocal lines in 'In The Valley' well enough. Upon saying that, I've played a fair bit of 20th century modernist classical piano, as well as composed my own, so I'm up for abrupt changes, irregular and odd passages...and AFTK certainly has them. As I say, I'll know better later on about how well this works. So far I'm 100% happy though!! :) There is BOUND to be some strangeness though. Vital Signs for instance. Cygnus X-1: Prologue. And YYZ!!!! IF I make it that far. Hopefully I will.

  8. They are lucky to have you at the library ! During covid, the prison kept their tutor to help people get a high school degree, but the library program didn't restart for about two and a half years, sadly. The library would drop off older donated paperbacks so the people did have something to read, but it took a long time for picking up book requests and delivering them in person to restart because of covid and also the library lost staff then too.

  9. This sounds like a difficult time. Do you know how it was after the pandemic, how soon did they continue the deliveries to the county prison? In my memories the covid time in the library was a very strange period. At first, we had to close the library, then it became possible for the customers to pick up their reservations in the lobby, a few people at the time. Later on, they could spend 15 minutes on a computer but only ten people were allowed inside the big library so we had to keep count on who left and how many people came in. We wore face masks and kept distance, and for those responsible for the it-services and development of the library worked from their homes for a long time. Finally, the restrictions were loosened and people could return to read and study in all the departments if they kept a certain distance. As the restrictions were completely over it felt very strange and unreal to work normally.

  10. Books and the worlds that open up in them may be a life changer for many people that are doing time. The penny that the society spends in various libraries is multiplied through the power of art and knowledge. The effect is the most clearest in kids and in people with very limited resources.

  11. I was a kid posting on Rush forums 20 years ago under a different name but I vividly remember Doug Maher's "exclusive" interviews being pretty widely debunked as totally made up. Weird guy.
