  8. Bruce Springsteen- Nebraska A haunting masterpiece of storytelling, mood and tension, I used to struggle with this album. Now I hear it for the brilliance that it is. Every song here is like a short Stephen King story, with an autumnal sadness that I find so captivating.

  10. One of the better orchestral versions I've heard. Would be better without vocals. Something like this does not need vocals.

  12. The first time I watched James Earl Jones was when he played Barney Hill in the 1975 TV movie "The UFO Incident". (Real life) Barney and Betty Hill claimed to have been abducted by aliens in 1961 New Hampshire.

  17. UPDATE: Christopher Nolan‘s “Interstellar” will be re-released in honor of its 10th anniversary. The Paramount Pictures film was slated to return on Sept. 27 but will instead land roughly two months later on December 6th. It will be shown in 70mm Imax prints, as well as digital screens. The theatrical release date was pushed to align with the home entertainment relaunch, according to knowledgeable individuals. Warner Bros. Pictures, which co-produced the movie, is working with Paramount on the revival. Please come to my town!

  18. Gave it a whirl last night on streaming. Definitely has those 'Island" vibes to it. Good album, will listen a few more times at least.

  19. Hot take. If a college coach makes more money than anyone else at a college, the school is a sports franchise with a side hustle of teaching.

  20. 5.1 does nothing for me and won't factor in my decision but I can understand why others would want that.

  21. i still find it hard to believe that none of those Radio City Shows were recorded from the board. The could make a fantastic composite from that run. And then of course the alternate night at the Gardens.....

  26. Bruce Springsteen- Letter To You A beautiful, soulful album. It came out shortly after Western Stars, but I find the two albums markedly different. LTY rocks harder, for one.

  27. Bruce Springsteen- Western Stars A late career masterpiece, I think this album shines as brightly as his classics.

  30. 9/22/83 ? That was one of the RCMH shows. 9/22/84 - Maple Leaf Gardens. Both of those would go a long way to make up for the SIG40 suck.

  31. I would love that, or something similar, and maybe so. I don't even have a hint of what it could be (assuming it's anything at all) but I doubt seriously it'll be another old live show from a tour that we just got a box set for in the last few years. If we do get a 50th package of some kind my guess (because again, I'm generally pessimistic) is that it will be some kind of collection of all the studio albums in elaborate packaging or something similar without any significant unreleased content. I'd love for some sort of sequel to the R40 package though with more live footage. Who knows. If we are getting something for the 50th it would seem it would have to be announced in the next few weeks or so, we should know soon.

  32. Well . . .winning ugly but winning! Six field goals for the Steelers to win over Atlanta? 18-10. No answers to the "quarterback controversy" as Fields didn't get any TDs and Wilson is injured.

  33. I am hoping we get a complete recording of a show we don't have in circulation. Perhaps September 22? As for the 50th talk, I also wonder if some ATWAS box set with all 3 nights is released for that (yes, I would grab it up in a heartbeat).

  34. Last week I tried to politely pry a bit with someone who I think would know and while I have no confirmed info I personally trust this person enough to feel comfortable now that stuff is still coming, and I’m usually pretty pessimistic in general. It sounds like, and I’m not swearing to anything, but it sounds like GUP might be delayed to spring so there can also be some type of 50th product too. So I’m no longer stressed about not getting news of it yet.
