My apologies. I was away on some family business yesterday. It is serendipitous that you and I joined on the same day. I hope the board will join in me raising a glass to someone who has educated me, challenged me, and made me laugh my f*cking @ss off over the years here. Cheers to my dear friend, LABT.1 point

Happy forum anniversary to a friend from SOCN, a foe in OLV, and a nemesis to the yacht rock Hagar lover in MOTS! Some of your posts are so well thought out it's almost possible to forget that you're actually from Boston (not the Brady RINGZ!!!1! sycophantic ones though) Here's to many more...1 point

f**k me, they are ugly. The stainless ones look like someone smooshed a fridge. The black ones look like a heap of black lacquer furniture from the 80's.1 point

They may have, I hadn't heard but who knows? It's just terrible in so many ways. It just keeps getting more tragic, now I heard his wife is expecting. So that baby won't ever know his daddy. Heartbreaking. Correction...it is his brother's wife Matthew who is expecting their first child. Still so sad1 point

Oh that's so sad. I guess when Johnny and Matt were little kids, they got to meet Bernie Parent in the locker room. Just awful news for their families.1 point

My God, what a terrible tragedy. It just is unbelievable for this to happen and his sister's wedding will be so sad. Just makes me sick at heart, God Bless you Johnny and Matt. Gone too soon1 point

Apparently he and his brother were together because today is their sister's wedding. Good Lord. When my son was little, Kevin Hayes brought us into the BC hockey locker room after a game. Hayes asked my son who his favorite player was. My son quickly responded "probably your brother." He thought about it for a moment and then added, "Oh, or Johnny Gaudreau." Now they're both gone.1 point

Aww, thank you so much, BHR ! I'm just about back to normal health wise but had to spend most of the day dealing with internet outage so I didn't see this until now! (Just the way a girl wants to spend her birthday, lol. Crazy technology.) I really appreciate the birthday wishes!1 point

Happy Birthday Blueschica! I hope the mending process continues to go well for you!1 point

The concerts highlighted on #8 are positively epic. Zevon is one of my top 2 singer songwriters that I didn't come to appreciate that until later in my life. Of those you saw, I've only seen Dio, and man what a singer.1 point

1. First Concert? Tom Petty and Steve Winwood at the Hollywood Bowl in 2008. I was 11 2. Last Concert? Yob at Brick by Brick in San Diego last year. They're a doom metal trio. 3. Worst Concert? I hate to say it, but my experience seeing Iron Maiden in 2017 wasn't great. The venue sucked, the concert-goers sucked, and the openers sucked except for Ghost. 4. Loudest Concert? It's a tie between Iron Maiden, The Melvins, and Mr. Bungle 5. Best Concert? Several: Rush, Weird Al, Roger Waters, Ghost, Dream Theater, Chili Peppers 6. Seen the Most? Yob 4 times 7. Most Surprising? Pond, I didn't expect to become a fan until I saw them. 8. Happy I got to see? Rush and Iron Maiden! 9. Wish I could have seen? Oingo Boingo 10. Next Concert? None at the moment1 point

1. First Concert? Technically, Harry Chapin with my family. The first rock concert I went to without parents was Rush, Maple Leaf Gardens, Sept '84. 2. Last Concert? I've been out of the concert loop for a while - go to see many friends' bands play locally, but I think my last show was Jon Batiste about 3 years ago. 3. Worst Concert? Sandra Bernhard, some time in the 90s. Thought it would be a comedy show, but she had a band and played AWFUL covers of Stones and other classic rock songs. It was unbearable. 4. Loudest Concert? I can't remember the band, but it was at the Ottawa Blues Festival -- the drummer's snare was like an icepick in my ear for every 2 and 4. 5. Best Concert? Hard call, but probably Tom Waits in 1999. 6. Seen the Most? Rush - I think 12 times. 7. Most Surprising? Jon Batiste - a close call to the crown of best concert. He was astonishing -- like Prince, James Brown and McCoy Tyner all wrapped up into one. 8. Happy I got to see? Leonard Cohen. I saw him twice before he passed. I am grateful that he went back to touring in his later years. It was a semi-religious experience both times. 9. Wish I could have seen? Genesis. Of course I would have LOVED to have seen them with Gabriel, but even seeing the Phil-led band in its heyday would have been great. I considered this most recent (final) tour, but I just didn't think the magic would be there...and the Chester/Phil double drum thing was such a big part of what made their post - Gabriel shows great. 10. Next Concert? At this point, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.1 point

Mastodon- Crack The Skye Mastodon- Emperor Of Sand I used to think CTS was overrated. I now realise that due to its arriving at a very, very difficult stage in my life, I have struggled with it due to mental connections between it's release day and what I was going through at the time. I am proud to say I've had an emotional breakthrough and I'm really, really in love with this album now! It continues their evolution beautifully! It's very different to Blood Mountain but in a weird way it also feels like it's sister album. Emperor Of Sand is magnificent. I didn't like it at first but once again...came out during a difficult time. I do think it's the perfect album to play a new fan. It has all the brilliance of...Mastodon...and well...its just incredible.1 point
