I was never able to hear this album with virgin ears since my local classic rock station played the crap out of almost every song on it. So by the time I listened to it I already knew 90 percent of it. It was cool to learn that all these songs I knew were on the same album. Still an all time classic no matter how you first heard it.3 points

I can only imagine what Bayern would do to us. Another 7-something schooling. Best to apologise to everyone and sneak out the back door.2 points

I didn't see a diary about this, so I decided to post. I believe he passed on March 2nd. He was involved with many important groups and other jazz artists throughout his career; Art Blakely and Miles Davis. He went on to form Weather Report and later his own band. Beautiful tenor sax tone, I had also forgotten that he did the solo on the title track Aja with Steely Dan. RIP https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-648309492 points

2nd PG movie I saw in theaters after Willow and saw it 3 times in theaters when I was 7 going on 8 and God know how many times on VHS and Showtime. That's the movie that made me interested in movies as a kid. Still holds up today. RIP Cockney Cagney.2 points

Symphony X- Twilight In Olympus This is the album I'm replaying the most ATM. SX are a terrific band, but I don't think the comparisons to Dream Theater are valid. DT are far more diverse and, dare I say it, ambitious (not always a good thing, they often bite off more than they can chew) and accomplished. Plus, I see SX as being closer to European power metal. Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire, even Nightwish. Lots of great music though. SX are definitely a terrific band, and it's a shame they aren't more popular. Their older albums are out of print and very expensive to purchase, but I see it as worth it.2 points

I have a version of this that was signed by Papa III. And several ghouls who were likely not even on the album. It holds a special place to me.1 point
