  19. Elton/Burn Down The Mission ... was working at Mission Lake yesterday and It was a sad state of affairs. A social worker told me that "no one taught them how to live" ... Place got trashed, clothes and kids toys, diapers all over ... doors left unlocked, windows opened, pet feces on the floor, no handles on the refrigerator, and broken tooth on the broken dryer.

  21. You should not worry about discussing the fact that you're not neurotypical. I suspect many here are familiar with the spectrum. Anyone who suggest you're looking for attention by disclosing that fact is a jack@ss IMO. Melancholy is indeed sadness.

  22. Will catch up on it on Audible. Which reminds me, I need to finish the recent memoirs by Geena Davis and Lol Tolhurst of The Cure. Audiobook format makes me comprehend better.

  26. I am EXPONENTIALLY more excited to read a Geddy memoir than any of Neil's work - I think his dry humour and conversational style are going to be an absolute joy to read. Can't wait.

  27. Unleash The Archers - Apex This is an awesome album. Love it!!! Started with the amazing song Awakening and every song after it is very good. Britany Slays (stage name - real name Britany Hays) is an awesome vocalist. The youtube reactor The Charismatic Voice has revived multiple songs from this group and had Britany on for an interview. Another youtube reactor, Tank The Tech (who was a roadie for 15 years and worked for a number of bands including Journey, Pat Benetar, The Foo Fighters & VH) has interviewed members of this group as well and was clearly impressed by the group. Interestingly, The Charismatic Voice had Tank The Tech on her show for an interview at one point!! Anyway, beyond the amazing vocals of Britany, you do get some harsh growled vocals on the album. Normally I hate those but here they are done well so I don't mind them. The album itself is a concept album and it ends with the title track which defiantly has an Iron Maiden influence (specifically The Trooper) with lots of galloping guitars. But its a very strong song. Heck, the entire album is strong. Just awesome. This group should be so much bigger than they are.

  28. I don't bring this up in Real Life, because there is an enormous amount of misunderstanding about autism: I really don't understand emotions all that well, and I only identify them with great difficulty. But here I'm anonymous and so I feel safe! (On FB I once [once!] broached this subject, under my real name, and was accused of "wanting attention" and other bizarre things. That shut me down for years.) Anyway, the existence of this thread bothered me for a long time because I don't know what a "sad album" is. But tonight, listening to New Order's Power, Corruption & Lies, I was hit with what I think is sadness. Or melancholy? Well, whatever it is, it's beautiful.

  32. Such a maddening loss, don't know what is going on with our D but just not clicking well. Such a shame since Georgiev had some fantastic saves, but at least we got a point. Kraken have won all 3 of the series with Avs, go figure.

  33. Much more drawn to sad, or I suppose more specifically, melancholy music than upbeat music. Like, I adore the Beatles, all of it, but I'll take Strawberry Fields over Good Day Sunshine most of the time. It would take a long time to list all the sad music I love. The first artist that popped into my head was Aimee Mann. She cuts right to my soul.

  36. I just booked tickets for the 2023 Muddy Roots Festival in Cookeville, TN from September 1-3. A few of the bands announced so far include Amigo the Devil, Murder by Death, and Goddamn Gallows. Slim Cessna's Auto Club usually perform every year so they should be announced eventually.

  37. Thank you for thinking about this, Alexmai. But I wonder if you are looking only at "capacity" and not so much at the ticket sales/seat occupancy? Many things come together when considering these statistics. I also have looked through Wandering, but it is very number/review specific. The whole picture is not that obvious? The concerts were some of the biggest EVER that Rush had performed, huge numbers - but they were in soccer/football stadiums that are very, very large. Those stadiums are meant to accommodate tens upon tens of thousands of fans - yet they were available for concert bookings, and the whole Rush team admits to not realising how popular they were down south. It would look on paper that those shows were under attended, but a couple were, in fact, the biggest ever.

  38. As I recall at my show in 2012, the house was pretty much full. That was at the Verizon Wireless Arena, and their capacity is about 10,000-12,000.

  39. The shows I saw were full. I realize that is not a sizeable enough statistical sample . Having said that.....Permanent Waves was released in 1980.
