  1. I hope they do put Maiden in because Bruce has a very good chance of telling them "f**k off with your award".

  2. Excellent album! I think I told Entre one time, I used to live with someone who would come home drunk and blast it on the stereo! I really like it anyway!

  3. Well... I loved the White Stripes back in the early 00s. RATM and Soundgarden too. Although I`m indifferent towards them, I know many people who love Joy Division and New Order. Some people here seem to like Iron Maiden. I always thought Sheryl Crow was kinda hot. I`ve seen worse lists.

  4. Muse-Black Holes And Revelations (10/10) in a lot of ways i miss this version of the band. Just a straight ahead rock band. Before programmced beats mostly took over the rhythm Section. Before Matt got on the conspiracy theory angle heavily. I know they'll never make an album like this again but gosh i miss it. Mick

  5. Love Ozzy and his music. I think we'll hear more music from him. My last time seeing Ozzy and Sabbath. I've seen the band a few times ( Ozzy version only ) and when they were in their peak. Great memories.

  7. We've all known for a long time that he's not up for touring anymore. Even if he sits down for shows, I think even random one offs or residencies are out of the question because he doesn't know from day to day what the Parkinson's will be doing to him. He doesn't owe us anything anymore and should enjoy whatever time he has left just relaxing and enjoying all he has accomplished. His new album is his best since No More Tears. He should leave it at that and go out on a very high note. Not many artists who have been around for as long as he has can do that.

  8. Sheryl Crow was a hit machine and for that has earned a place, imo. Same with George Michael, I suppose. Warren Zevon is a great old hipster's choice. Lol if Maiden doesn't get in.

  10. I'm glad I got to see him just once on Black Sabbath's The End Tour. He was in great form that night. Hopefully he continues to record music. His last two records were a bit of fun!

  11. I think we all saw this was coming, but it's still sad. (I hope Zumbi can get a refund. ). Sounds like Sharon is working on ideas so the fans can still see him. Vegas residency? From CNN- "Ozzy Osbourne announced the cancellation of his upcoming shows, and said his touring career is over because he “is not physically capable (of it).” In a statement released on Wednesday, the 74-year-old said he had a major accident four years ago in which he damaged his spine and that he can no longer cope with the travel required for a tour. “My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage,” he said. “My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.” Osbourne’s team, he added in the statement, is “currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.” He ended the statement by thanking his family, band, crew, longtime friends, Judas Priest and his fans “for their endless dedication, loyalty, and support, and for giving me the life that I never ever dreamed I would have.”

  12. January, 1973: David McCall and Bob Dorough created one of the best educational tools for kids. Short videos with cool animation, very catchy tunes with great lyrics that taught kids all about math, grammar, vocabulary and basic civics. We sure could use more of this these days!

  17. I kinda figured. How much more can a body physically take? A couple of years ago he wanted to tour and several fans were saying to stop, take it easy, man. I agree. This coming from a fan since high school in the 80's. He still makes good albums, and that's fine by me. I'll buy them. If your fans care, they'll do the same.

  22. These days, your song is likely considered less offensive than the Schoolhouse Rock video I quoted, as it features an Arab prince rolling up with spice- and oil-laden camels and a harem of a dozen wives with six kids each. And of course each of his fingers is covered in shiny diamond rings. "Hey kids, let's count!" I love the groove, though.

  24. One of the things about PG is there's so much of it. The best bits of PG are one of the greatest rock albums ever. The worst bits might not win a county fair battle of the bands. But the highs are higher than ANATO.

  33. I saw Ozzy on the Diary of a Madman, Speak of the Devil, and Bark at the Moon tours in his heyday, and I saw him on No More Tours 2 a few years ago. Ozzy was an absolutely fantastic front man and live performer. If you missed seeing him, I'm sorry.

  37. I just returned from a class where we were teaching winter survival stuff to college aviation students - a two month long annual affair. After shelter building and discussing how they will be outside and cutting down trees and such, the next topic was signals. They need to learn how to signal to aircraft to improve rescue times and shorten the time spent waiting for said rescues. I introduced the next topic of signals - different types of sound, reflective, ground signal fires, etc. I said "so the next topic is signals." ..."Not only is Signals a great Rush album, we need to know the basics of..." There were a couple of chuckles, but most are too young to understand. Talking to them in groups outside, I always mention Rush as an icebreaker - more and more, it's "My dad is (this or that)" but not the students. Sigh. But I loved that I could sneak that in to get a sense of musical tastes!
