One of my favorite bass players of all time. A member of Mr. Big. Talas, The Winery Dogs, David Lee Roth...and I had the pleasure of interviewing him to talk about the upcoming Winery Dogs album, and his role in several other bands. Rush- A Farewell To Kings Rush- Hemispheres Something struck me listening to these two masterpieces: in the grand scheme of things, very little time separates Hemispheres from Roll The Bones, yet they sound worlds apart. I think of "this is a seventies album, that is a nineties album", but the reality is they evolved so much in a short space of time it's crazy to me to think how it must have felt to be a fan following them from the early days. Anyway, these two albums are flawless to me. I absolutely adore them, and my relationship with Hemispheres has changed so much. Back to back, they are intoxicating and still so forward thinking. Some albums age badly, some albums are simply timeless.

Though he was a complete tool during his solo run, Don Henley was a master songwriter/collaborator. End of the Innocence is outstanding beginning to end

I love, love, love this album Even Arizona.

I saw some talk of Matt Cameron. Seeing as he’s simultaneously been in two big bands before, and one of those two bands doesn’t really do anything anymore.

The obvious choice to me is Rufus Taylor. Played at the tribute show and did a great job, was friends with/mentored by him, and Taylor's all-time favorite band was Queen so I'll bet he'd think it was pretty cool that Queen's drummer's son replaced him. They look a lot alike too. Don't think anyone could get mad at that choice.

Taylor's not irreplacable but the next guy needs to have thick skin to deal with 'well you're not as good as taylor' BS.

I don’t like any of them - even the male reporters (if there are any left). They are good for relaying info about injured players, but that’s it. It’s obvious that the head coaches don’t want to talk to them during the game, and their questions are almost always moronic.

I'll have to think about this a while. However, my number 1 is easily All Things Must Pass by George Harrison. The vibe of that album is just flawless.

Almost every year during the 80s in the UK music press Rush were rumoured to be headlining Monsters of Rock at Donington. But they were never into the idea at all, and probably just as well. I don't know how the Power Windows setlist for example would have gone down with an audience of 50,000 metalheads.

There's easily 200 session/studio/youtube players than can handle the Foo's material without breaking a sweat. But can they do it will his energy, enthusiasm, and touch? Probably not, but that's what makes musicians unique (ie - "them"). Knowing there will never be a full step-in replacement, whomever they choose will need to pass the Grohl sniff test and that should ensure the transition will be the best it could be. The band has a lot of mouths to feed now, so I never doubted its return. It's an enterprise now (Grohl's own words). I'm glad they're continuing on, although they're trending away from what interested me in them.

Shanahan has forbid his team from watching any more of this game to avoid overconfidence, but the damage may already have been done.

I think RTB is now my most played Rush album. I really, really adore it. It's definitely not my favourite, but I find it a genuinely comforting and emotional album.

- Kick It Out

May Spector rot in hell but EotC is an underrated album. My favorite Green Day album is getting a 25 anniversary issue. One of the demos is a remake of Alison by Elvis Costello. Nimrod is still tops for me. Hoping that Cure album will finally get the release Robert Smith has been teasing and was supposed to come out last fall. Heard some of the songs in concert on Youtube and they're quite promising. I hope Gaslight Anthem has one since they went back to the studio. It's cruel how underrated this Joisey band are. Been 9 years since Get Hurt and Brian Fallon has done 2 solo albums since.

I'm trying for one ticket, somehow.

He did say that he Wouldn't play Hot Legs any more. I suppose we will find out soon enough,LOL!

I feel you. I miss him so much, wish he was still here.
