I can't believe I used to idolize that idiot when I was a kid. It's stupid the things she does for attention, trying to stay relevant. I was gonna post a visual, but I didn't wanna get banned from this place.

Neil's hometown of St. Catharine's held a competition for a statue to be placed at his park pavilion to honor Neil. Link to the winning design below. (Sorry, can't post photo directly for some reason tonight.) Interestingly, it's not the one of him at the drums wearing the kufi hat that a bronze artist worked on last year. Instead, they went with 2 statues- the young 1970s Neil, and the mature Neil. Evidence of the claim made in Wandering The Face Of The Earth that it was played. (Just guessing here but a Kansas fan might have recorded it.) Have to figure that this is a tease for the entire show which was what....about 45 minutes? Nice surprise!

Jordan is still doing random dates, Petrucci is doing his first solo tour right now, with Portnoy on drums and Dave LaRue on bass. There are European tour dates for DT starting January, and then I believe there will be a second leg of the View from the Top of the World Tour. Then a new album will be recorded in Q3 2023.

I have just (re)discovered Ram Jam. Listening to the best of package, which is really the 2 albums concatenated. 'Southern Rock' from New York City. Love it.

We have just returned from a trip south of the border to Duluth for three days, our closest fun shopping and dining get-away destination. After almost three years, we are trying to return to a sense of "normal". At a small boutique shop (at Fitger's - in case said person is watching...) I was looking for an aged bottle of The Macallan, to see if the exchange rate and price was better than our local LCBO choices. Turns out the prices were not very different. So I asked the proprietor if he would consider a discount for Canucks long absent but returning to the scene - joking, in a sincere sort of way. Sorry, no. Prices are rising everywhere. Fine. Would you consider a discount to a RUSH fan, the drummer being a big fan of said label. He looked up at me and asked You're a RUSH fan? Yes, I said. I've seen three of their concerts, he said. I have only seen two, I said. I knew I was beat, right then. While it didn't get me a discount, and nothing gained, I was delighted to hear a stranger describe Neil's having learned new techniques from Freddy and how he, himself, was inspired to try to learn new techniques, also a drummer. Found another RUSH fan in the north-western wilderness. Sweet!

Her kids must feel so ashamed of her. I think she feels a lot of pressure from having to compete with Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. She needs to realize that she's not young anymore and stop doing things like this. She's 64 and acts like she's 12.

Well put. Pashchdale is my favorite Iron Maiden song. I remember the first time I heard it. I was in the car and was just blown away by it. Had to pull over to the side of the road because it so emotionally impacted me. Just an awesome song.

Thursday game for the AVS was very emotional. Had a tribute to Peter McNab, he was a wonderful person and contributed so much to hockey in Colorado. I am still shocked he passed so suddenly, he had been in remission and looked more like himself. Very glad he got to see the team win another Cup. Good game, Avs win after their return from Finland. Rantenen had some beautiful goals.
