  5. I feel bad for the reviewers, the power they must have over them for not a single copy to trickle out from all those music nerd hands. Reviewer: "I'd like to review your album, Mr PT." Mr PT: "Sign here in blood. Which of your children will you be using as collateral?"

  6. The friend with whom I'm seeing this show in August and I went out for lunch last week, and we were talking about the show. We saw them with Journey a couple of years ago. We agreed that they wiped the floor with Journey and are likely to do the same to the Crue. For the Crue's sake, I hope they play before Def Leppard.

  7. It was a classy move by the team to let him reach 10 years of major league service prior to releasing him.

  8. Having a hard time concentrating on reading with hockey playoffs, not getting very far on last books I mentioned. Since we are going to see Santana in concert on the 28th of this month, decided to give The Universal Tone by Santana a listen. Has started off good, he was one of 11 children! Will be interesting to hear his comments about other musicians that influenced him, the years in 60's with concert promoter Bill Graham will be good too.

  11. I don't know if I've ever seen a more suspenseful golf tournament, with as many swings of fortune as this US Open. (I'd call it swings in win probability but I know how some people react to analytics, and I guess I'll also have to say Fitzpatrick just wanted it more and gave 100%, nay, 110%, taking it one hole at a time, concentrating on his own game and ignoring outside distractions while being the only person who believed he could win. Oh, and disrespect. The disrespect is what drove him.)

  25. I disagree. His strokes gained off the tee improved from -.4 to +.3 after he started fading his shot. His swing speed has increased from 118 to 120mph, resulting in an increase in driving distance to 298 yards with an accuracy rating of 64.88%. That makes for a total driving value of 148, which ranks 38 on the tour, far above where he was just 2 years ago. Playing by your gut is for hackers like me. If you want to make money, you need analytics. I was hoping for Scheffler, Matsuyama or McIlroy, but this kid seems ok.

  27. Here's something interesting... “I was bussing tables from midnight to 8 a.m. at [American casual diner-style restaurant] Denny’s after I left Megadeth,” he said. “And I would be bussing tables on a weekend, and some guy would go, ‘Dude, you’re Chris Poland.’ [Laughs] And I’d have to go, ‘Yeah, I am.’ [Laughs] And it was so weird, because he just looked at me, like, ‘Dude, what the f**k are you doing here?’ And I would just say, ‘Hey, man, I’ve gotta eat. I’ve gotta pay the rent.’ “When you think of it now, it is pretty crazy, because at that time Megadeth was beyond gold — ‘Peace Sells’ was really like a train,” Chris continued. “And here I am bussing tables in the middle of the night at Denny’s. He also recalled how he was once insulted on a beach as no one recognized him. “I also had shit happen where I’d be at the beach with my girlfriend, and there’d be, like, six guys walking down the boardwalk in Venice wearing Megadeth shirts,” Poland recalled. “And at the time my girlfriend said, ‘Hey, you guys. You know who this is? This is Chris Poland from Megadeth.’ And they would just go, ‘Yeah, right. f**k off,’ and then walk away. [Laughs] So I’ve had every little version of weirdness from being in that band, let me tell you.” Asked if ever regretted leaving Megadeth, Chris said: “It was just meant to be. It got to the point where it was just time… It wasn’t working for anybody anymore. Who knows what would have happened if I stayed in the band? It was probably best that I didn’t. [Laughs] Probably drugs would have killed somebody, or all of us. Who knows?”

  29. Journey-Trial By Fire(8/10) People seem to really give this one i hard time and i could see reasons why. it's overlong and a few too many slow perry solo album typ songs but what's good here is REALLY damn good. Message of Love One More When you Love A Woman If He Should Break Your Heart Forever In Blue Don't Be Down On Me It's Just The Rain Trial By Fire all that is classic Journey for me. It's a bit generic to say but in his prime Steve Perry was one of the best singers ever. and i love his tone on this album not quite prime but a rich mature tone. to bad everyone in this band hates each other cause they could have gone on after this one. this lineup i believe had way more in the tank at the time but...."band politics" don't ya know? 30. It's a similar feeling for me. I think it's close to perfection song wise, but the production is so, so jumbled and it makes little sense. It's infuriating. I love it, but not as much as I could. If the production was better, this might have topped Broken Crown Halo and Delirium.
