  7. There's a pro shot live video of Take Hold Of The Flame from Japan recorded during that tour. You should check it out. Tate pulls everything off vocally without a problem.

  8. Queensryche- Queensryche EP Four tracks and you know what? It's sublime! QR came out all guns blazing, ready to take on the world. Listening to this is as fulfilling as the best of Maiden/Priest. This is GODLY.

  11. After having that big of an album most bands would try to repeat it with the follow up. But Promised Land is probably their darkest album and the theme deals with the downside of becoming so successful.

  12. Half of Empire (Best I Can, Jet City, Another Rainy Night, the title track, Silent Lucidity and Anybody Listening?) were all huge hits.

  17. I agree but i also enjoy Working up a Sweat (quite a lot actually). I think Golden Gun is meh, but you got to respect the attempted bond song.. I bet if Alice were to take a stab at it today it wouldn't have been rejected

  18. At the time Muscle Of Love came out I was a big Alice Cooper fan and had all their LP's to date. There was a big fanfare in the UK for this release after the massive commercial success of Billion Bollar Babies - Warner Bros went all out on the packaging - a weird cardboard box imitating a delivery package. A bummer to shelve with any other albums!! For me personally, I was a bit disappointed in the album - just not as dark as its predecessors and in a lot of ways signalling the end of the 'golden age'.

  25. Their commercial peak with Empire was bigger than anything Maiden and Priest did. They were bigger than them at that time.

  26. Oh okay! They are fast becoming one of my favourite bands (excluding the filler albums). I have the early stuff a passing glance a couple of weeks ago, today I'm doing a thorough listen. Exceptional! In an alternate universe, Queensryche are as huge as Maiden/Priest.

  27. I am still getting into QR. Right now, I am playing their debut EP. I'm actually knocked off my feet, it's absolutely sublime. The Lady Wore Black is an astounding song. But I have now worked my way through their post-PL discography. I didn't share my thoughts because one listen to those records involved a lot of skipping, some awful albums. A reason I never tried to take Queensryche seriously before is that I grew up reading negative reviews of new releases, and when the band divided a few years back, it was cringe. But now I'm diving in, it is so good to listen to such brilliant songwriting. QR and Savatage are terrific bands, I get a similar feeling from both even though they are different. But Queensryche after Promised Land is dead to me. Saying that, I really enjoyed the latest two albums.

  29. He was always regarded as one of the best singers in the metal genre. It's too bad the band's quality went down so much and he turned out to come off as a bit of a dick over the years. I don't think he's talked about as much as he should be due to that. But there was a time when he was spoken of in the same way Halford, Dio and Dickinson are for their vocal abilities. I feel sometimes people forget just how great of a singer he was.

  33. Looks like a lot of those old photos were hosted on Photobucket.com. Most of us used Photobucket back in the day. They had free accounts when they first opened, which most of us here used, and after a few years of people uploading hundreds of their favorite photos and memes to their website they got greedy and started charging a lot of money to keep displaying those images. Pay this new membership fee or your many images would no longer display properly. Most people didn't pay it, and what we're left with now are just a bunch of dead links.
