  1. Another Christmas with my parents, ages 88 and 89. Don't know how many more there will be, if any so really treasured it.

  2. The Lad and I got a router and table, so really looking forward to fiddling about with that. Got the wife a really fun jigsaw puzzle...an abstract collage of great buildings of the world. We spent hours on it Christmas Eve and yesterday. A fantastic dinner with longtime friends. It was fun catching up with them and their now-adult daughters. And finally, Mother Nature brought a huge winter storm that dumped piles of much needed snow to the ski resorts.

  3. All weekend I've been receiving the love of old friends and the meeting of new ones. A weekend stay at a friends house, a tour of his area(Hudson, FL, North of Clearwater). A candlelight Christmas eve program at their church, and a massive turkey, ham, and trimmings Christmas dinner. Today we are all driving down to Tarpon Springs and a big last meal at one of the Greek restaurants in the area before we parts ways and I start my drive home.

  7. After so many years of delays, our next generation of space telescopes has launched! After a flawless launch and separation sequence, the telescope is on its way to a Lagrange point behind the Earth and Moon, where it will look deep into the depths of space....far deeper than any previous telescope has done. Astronomers hope to see the formations of the earliest stars and galaxies, formed in the very young Universe, as well as study other planets in other star systems. In the coming weeks, the telescope will unfold itself and perform numerous self-tests as it positions itself at the Lagrange point. We will have to be patient to see the first images from this technological marvel. CAN'T WAIT!! https://www.nasa.gov...lescope-mission

  15. By that logic, I'm gonna be super upset when Geddy dies. But I don't wanna think about that yet.

  16. The only thing I’m glad about is that he didn’t sing, because hearing his voice would make me sad. I’ve always been a big John Denver fan and certain songs it still breaks my heart to hear his voice all these years later.

  24. Hi guys! I've been checking out this forum on and off for several years but just got around to register. I wanted to introduce myself. My name's Charlotte, I'm 23 years old and have loved Rush since I was about 8. Saw them on Snakes and Arrows and Clockwork Angels, seats weren't great but hey, at least I got to go. I look forward to getting to know everyone here!

  25. Some of you may feel that the cormorant does not play an important part in the life of the school. :tsk: Yes, it's one of those new self-righting models. Newhaven was about the first place in the country to get one. Well look, you can ask Mr. Maudling, but I'm sure he'll never agree. :finbar: Not for fifty shillings.

It will be like constantly driving around the block..... :o The LaGrange point is constantly moving, as the Moon orbits the earth. So yeah, constantly driving that hotrod around the block, looking for those nice girls. I wanted to get a reference to Space Trucking in there, and couldn't find a way. LOL. Something about riding that fireball and dancing around with Borealice.

  28. My Steinberger earlier in the year was pretty much my gift. My wife did get me a baby Christmas tree too.... I like growing trees, so going to add this little guy to the garden and figure out where to plant him in a couple of years . Bass strings too.... Rotosound 66's for the 2 Fenders.

  33. Any evidence as to who did it? Our only clue is this portion of wolf's clothing which the killer :baabaa: was wearing. Great. We're losing the lion. Rewrite. Lose the lion everyone. That's fantastic! Hello, Your_Lion. I'm sorry about my colleague's rather unconventional behaviour just now. :tsk: I am not a loony! Why should I be tied with the epithet loony merely because I have a pet halibut? You tie balloons to your ankles in the evenings. Flying Thompson's Gazelle of the Yard! These are placid and peaceful creatures and consequently bad television. But I am a chartered accountant. Get over there against the wall, pig, you're going to die! :bang bang: Well do you have to do that, couldn't you just give me the pound? Right you are, MacDonald. No time to lose. :ebert: It's my last chance with TRF, I can't throw it away. I've got to do it... for Joe-jums... for the kids... I've got to go through with it. Now the approach to the Soccer Thread is quite simply over the Video Vertigo, and then we go on after that to set up a base camp, somewhere in the region of the bottom of One Little Victory. :madra: A good attempt there but unfortunately he chose a general appraisal of the forum, before getting on to the threads and as you can see he only got as far as page one of ''General Discussion", the first of the seven volumes. A good try though and very nice posture  Well, harsh words there from 73, the Garibaldi family unable today to score more than fifteen on our :rush: ometer.

  42. I'm sending you a lot of love, prayers and Christmas joy, dear Lorraine. Me and my parents went to the pretty country church in the small town we're from. Sitting on the familiar bench I used to sit on every Christmas Eve as a kid I sent my heartfelt prayers for you today.

  44. :hug2: Lorraine! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!!! YOU ARE STRONG!!! I had gastritis when I was a kid and it was terrible! They had to give me a shot in my ass check. It hurt like Hell!! Please hang in there Lorraine! You are surrounded by many who love you so much!! YOU FUCKKING ROCK!!! Merry Christmas my great friend!! LOVE, Earl Earl, you get worn down and out. You're not giving up, you just want relief. The pain wears you out. Developing gastritis didn't help. That pain is through the roof. I have to back on hospice. Someone in my condition doesn't care if they have borderline high cholesterol. I am already dying, so who cares about minor stuff like that? Hi Lorraine! I totally understand! It's not about giving up! It's the constant pain that is torturing your body! Your Sweet Super Soul is Strong! Yes Lorraine, don't worry about your cholesterol. Some EXTRA SALTY PRETZELS are calling your name!!! Hang in there my sweet friend who has ALWAYS been here for me!!!! I will always love your Lorraine. You know this. Godspeed and please..... "HANG TOUGH!" Signed, TESLA

  45. I think if I were a known musician as he was, I would have handled it the way he did. I have quite a bit of respect for his friends sitting on it until after he was gone. It is truly a great thing to know that people out there will do that for you if asked. But he was also a writer and someone who explored the idea of death many times. This guy wrote Time Stand Still and the Garden. His perspective would be an important one. It's possible he did and it hasn't been released yet or won't ever be. Ultimately his family would abide by his wishes.

  46. Neil's passing is the second death of a music icon that I loved in my life. I still remember how much I grieved when John Lennon was murdered, it was like part of my childhood died. I became a Rush fan late in their career so I don't have as many experiences as some here do. Yet I was able to see them in concert 3 times and I never did see the Beatles :( I think I have processed Neil's passing but then there are times when I am listening to a song or watching a YT video and it gets me that he is gone...it still can make me cry. It just seems surreal that it has been almost 2 years. Crazy times we are living in have been like a time warp. Curious that Neil left us right before the world turned upside down.
