  5. Is it disrespectful to say the part about your husband made me smile ? Hope they can address your new complaints and glad to see your sense of humor is doing well! :hug2: She just left. This is her report. Cancer is a very selfish disease. It takes everything in the body for itself. What she thought might be being caused by other things (blood pressure/oxygen levels) is, in fact, being caused by the cancer. My cancer is quickly depleting whatever nutrients I have and are taking them in to feed itself and grow. My prediction: It is now September 27th. At the rate I am going downhill, Thanksgiving might be somewhat bearable, but Christmas, if I make it, will be the swan song. I predict I die in early January. It's not pleasant hearing how I go. They don't stick a vacuum up my rear and suck the poop that the tumor won't allow through out. It all just sits there, and solid food ceases, iv's for nausea and other things because pills would only vomit back. That's my reality. Each day, as long as I am given the grace to do so, I hope to make the best of. She said my incessant and unpredictable weeping is normal too. After all, I'm dying. Even though I don't walk around thinking that thought 24/7, my soul still knows it. I am dying. If you had asked me last year what I would think was going to happen to me this year, this little gem wouldn't have even made my list. :hug2:

  7. What a lovely kitty, I have a blue cream girl too, so nice to have a cuddle with  :hug2: She's not much for cuddling. Each morning and night I grab her and hug her and give her a kiss, but she doesn't go for any of that type of stuff. I do it just the same. :) It might not do much for her, but it helps me! :) That sounds like the one cat I have. He's a little bit bigger than some cats and looks like he was the alpha of the litter. So, he's a bit aloof and not too affectionate. The younger one I have I got when he was a kitten and he is very affectionate. Almost like a dog would be. Pets are great comfort when things aren't going well. I'm glad you have one to help you through a little bit.

  8. Supertramp all the way although BTO is classic, and Not Fragile is a pretty good album. But when you have an album with Goodbye Stranger, Logical Song, Take The Long Road Home, those 3 alone beat Not Fragile by a mile.

  12. Wasn't me but I understand it. I'm a big fan of VH but imo they made imperfect albums after VH1 in that there were always oddball or imperfect tracks on every album in the Roth-era from 2 onwards. Sacrilege you say! Well I voted for 'Eff' to be eliminated but it's almost as though he Hagar-era, to me, filled up the albums with safer/more boring songs. And that, to me, is in a nutshell the difference between the eras. Steady, safe and bland versus Crazy, high-speed and off the rails. OK hyperbole maybe but that's the feeling one gets of the differences. So take WACF, one might say that the 1st three tracks are ones that don't highlight VH at their best. Sacrilege again you say! Well, one might say that Romeo Delight and In a simple rhyme are by far the best tracks on the album and that the 1st 3 are a bit lazy or experimental or just too kooky to be really representations of VH at their best. I love the synth in And the Cradle.., I love the lazy simplicity of Everybody wants some and I love the bass-heavy style (Spinal Tap anyone!! ;-) ) of Fools. But for me, they are not VH at their best. I wouldn't play them to a newbie to show off Van Halen that's for sure. But Everybody Wants Some gets played a lot and in films and it embarrasses me a bit because it's the laziest, albeit one of the more fun, VH track out there. I know, I know, most of you love those songs. Well for me, the album switches gears from Romeo until the end. I much prefer the acoustic-then-heavy Whiskey, out of control 'Loss of Control' and In a simple rhyme after Romeo. And heck even the fireside acoustic playing on Could this be Magic is more entertaining then the 1st 3 songs. So when you try to compare FU..and 5150 (and even OU812 which is my fave Hagar album...yes, I said it!), then if you step back and compare them with the Roth ones then one always has to accommodate for the oddball/experimental stuff in the Roth era that isn't as 'consistent' as the Hagar era. That's one reason I think some people prefer the Sammy era. I'm going to have a hard time in my heart voting Sammy stuff over Roth stuff but my head says that on a consistency basis, Sammy albums sometimes win albeit they are usually safer, even blander (in the lesser tracks) at times. There, I've said it. Do your worst!! :madra: :finbar:  You`re a loony! You might even need a new brain

  17. Mariah Carey- Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (6/10) First half is near perfect, but the album just fades into late 2000s monotony. Not her best work, but it has some real gems (all non-singles, as per usual). Dream Theater- Distance Over Time (9/10) I have no qualms about putting this album in my top five DT albums. I love it start to finish.

  20. I don't understand the problem some fans have with the cover of Dance Of Death. I thought the cover fit the theme of the title track very well. I have no problem saying that Paschendale might be my favorite Maiden song about war. My problem with the art is it looks like a video game does when you slip into an unfinished area due to some glitch where the graphics are full of holes or incompletely rendered. It is a great concept, but it looks like the sketch before the painting, or the story board before the filming. In fact I believe the artist has actually said they used it despite the fact he wasn't done.

  24. Just so long as you understand that this is a 2-way street. All the irrational crazies aren't all on one side. I've had trf members give me the axe for voting for Trump. Maybe you will too now. I'm glad I'm almost gone from this increasingly irrational, partisan, and insane world. Sometimes I think there's more hatred in the world today than ever which is why kindness shines out like a diamond. Don't you all think it is high time we call an end to this? If we don't stop it now it will only result in more pain and suffering and sickness and, worse yet, more hatred. Indeed.

  25. Every remaining album is excellent, so I feel wrong voting to eliminate any. So I'll just remove the ones I'm least likely to listen to next. BTW, Despite the worst artwork by far Maiden has ever had Dance of Death is astounding. Paschendale alone makes it a better album than most bands could ever have.

They are learning to like pets on the head but we have to fool them into thinking it was their idea . That's why I love the blue cream girl, she comes to me for tummy rubs. She loves tummy rubs too and loves to sleep on her back. I've taken care of probably close to 50 cats or more, the last thirty years, and Tulora is the first cat I've ever been in contact that wasn't vulnerable when it came to her tummy.

  31. Let me take this opportunity to give John at Cygnus-X1.net some recognition, not only for his archiving of Neil's articles, but for his entire site, an invaluable resource to the Rush community. John was handing out postcards advertising Cygnus-X.net at the first Rush gig I ever went to, the gig at which I became a fan, and I have been visiting it regularly ever since. Many thanks and much appreciation to John for all his hard work over the years!
