  1. BOC is my fave US band. I've seen them tons of times & have everything they've done. The Columbia albums collection is the best box set I have. I saw them about 3 weeks ago in Manchester. Club holds 2600 & it was close to sold out. I think England likes them more than the US does. They've always been a big deal over here. They did I Love The Night in that set. It was absolutely beautiful. They opened with Transmaniacon MC & Before The Kiss. Incredible. The Vigil, ETI & Black Blade were highlights.

  6. I like that they're changing things up here and there on this tour. Makes it more interesting to check up on what they play.

  7. If you like '90s Rush, you'll like it. Songwriting is solid and Matt Cameron does a good job on drums. Vocally, Geddy sounds great. "Grace to Grace" would be the best Rush song of the '90s if it was on a Rush album.

  10. I saw them with Black Sabbath on the "Black and Blue" tour in 1980, Oct. 5, at Joe Louis Arena. All original members present, not so for Black Sabbath. Blue Öyster Cult RULED THAT CONCERT! Still have the stub! I have ALL of my stubs... I also saw ZZ TOP in 1980 on the Degüello tour.

  11. I love the debut. So much great stuff. "Beautiful as a Foot" is so gorgeous, musically, that I can't help wishing it had different lyrics, though. Another favorite is "Before the Kiss, a Redcap." Reminds me of a more upbeat Grateful Dead. I saw them play the first album in its entirety a couple of years ago. Fantastic gig.

  12. Ah, no, no. My name is spelt "IbanezJem", but it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove. That's going to cause a little confusion. Mind if we call you "Bruce" to keep it clear? Ssshhh! I think my wife is beginning to suspect something. Shut up you silly bitch, it was only a bit of Monty Python fun. I see. Do you want the full argument, or are you thinking of taking a course? No, no, the word, 'intercourse' - good and woody...Inter...course... pert...pert thighs...botty, botty botty....erogenous...zone...concubine...erogenous zone! Loose woman...erogenous zone.. Yes, good. Nibbling the earlobe, kneading the buttocks...and so and so forth. We have all these possibilities before we stampede towards the clitoris! You must spank her well, and after you have spanked her, you may deal with her as you like, and then, spank me Oh Robert, I thought you loved ME? :boohoo: He has a wife, you know. You know what she's called? She's called... 'Incontinentia'. Incontentina Buttocks. The Rush Forum would like to apologize for the poor quality of the writing in that post. It is not TRF policy to get easy laughs with words like bum, knickers, botty or wee-wees. Citizen of the World. Come at me with that banana then. Come and attack me with it. As hard as you like. Come on! in our laboratories, we have developed a cheese sandwich that can withstand an impact of 4,000 pounds per square inch Blimey, whatever did I give the wife?

  13. ReGor (Cat3) turned me onto Kings X Various members introduced me to Styx and Kansas (didn't like either straight away) J2112YZ (never get it right!) introduced me to Savatage and reminded me of a lot kf bands I used to enjoy, but had forgotten of (plus I think he was the one who reminded me of Nevermore and that was wonderful). Mick guided me through Dream Theater and many other bands I either had casual interest in or strongly disliked (I've done likewise for him too). Mr. Not (I think) was there when I got into Sonata Arctica and he really helped me get into them through a lot of spirited discussion! Narps got me enthusiastic for Yes and that was a real fun musical journey. Treeduck has been a fun source of wisdom in regards to metal. Can't think of any bands he introduced to me, but his enthusiasm got me to try a lot of metal bands I knew of but didn't know (Judas Priest and Megadeth come to mind). Love this forum!

  15. Wasn't that the night the subway flooded & the city had blackouts? Super Storm Sandy hit October 29, 2012. The concert was November 5th, so, yeah, the city was still reeling from the effects of that storm. Didn't stop me, though! Looking this up, I now remember that it was the Best Buy Theater in NYC.

  22. I really enjoy this album, seven months later. It's held up. Better than the album previous. There's elements of many previous works of AIC in it. The songs they chose from Rainy Fog at the latest concert were great live. Love him or hate him, DuVall is integral to AIC at this point. He has played more shows with them than Layne ever dreamed of. "Fly" is my personal favorite from the record.

  25. Mirrors is an underrated gem. The Great Sun Jester, The Vigil, I Am The Storm & Lonely Teardrops are some of BOC's best stuff. Love that album. I wish I had a t shirt of the cover art.

  30. Listened to Scenes and D/T today. Scene’s is better of course, but D/T is great as well. And I honestly love the first three tracks if only because they have stronger hooks than many of the others. It’s a quite wintery album, blizzardy in places. Very happy with this record.

  37. They aren't very similar to either of those bands. I don't think any of those 3 bands sound alike at all. They each have their own distinct sound. Mithrandir, For sound wise, I didn't mostly mean that, and from what I've listened to, wasn't referring to that. In the same category, and how the three of them are categorized, I meant by that.

  38. Unholy Unknown Origin Fire CW!!!! The old Earl would have flown back to NYC for that show if I was aware of it. I know! I was just saying how this legendary band hit a lull. Wow! All five original members. Yes, If I had known about that gig I would have flown there. Yup! I am crazy. But crazy for ROCK AND ROLL!!! Great story! Thank you for sharing. I have a serious BOC obsession going on right now. I'm the "Sole Survivor" cursed with second sight. This band. BLOOM AND BUCK!!! Keep it going guys! They have great musicians in the band today!

  40. I think it would have been a good thing if Broon had stayed with them at least for a few more albums. Even if they'd stayed in the same vein as Moving Pictures they would have had some better albums than came afterwards. They could have advanced and made things sound different but the wimpy radio friendly pop rock way they went would have been delayed.
