  4. Well aren't you a spoil sport? :( It probably has more to do with the fact I can't come up with anything on my own. I can't either. My imagination is a barren landscape. ********************** Sweet Jamaican Pineapple Dreams* *Available in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. Restrictions apply elsewhere. That's all I've got.

  8. I wonder what would the Rush road would have looked like had Terry stayed on and produced all the albums. I think it would have been even more prolific. I always liked those earlier albums, the way they sounded, the way they were engineered, produced... Would Terry have swayed the boys away from the so-called, "synth period" and kept them as a kick-ass power trio, minus the one million guitar and keys tracks per song?

  9. There was a lot of great albums released in 1976, Judas Priest's Sad Wings of Destiny, 2112, Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak, and here's another one! http://ximmix.mixeriksson.com/bilder/rainbow_rising_1500x1500px_100321231434_2.jpg http://www.dawksound.com/images/rainbow2_huge.jpg http://files.teamrock.com/images/696d616765-534bba0fb14f34.77901357/1280x720.jpg http://cache4.asset-cache.net/gc/73999376-singer-ronnie-james-dio-bassist-jimmy-bain-gettyimages.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=GkZZ8bf5zL1ZiijUmxa7QWEEdxvJqVYEOBM%2B0RKEFc1mXPIFbDOdlV1sW4hr6sOT http://www.oocities.org/sunsetstrip/palladium/9932/cpowe_r2.jpg http://www.helgeoveras.com/images/rainbow_02_800.jpg

  10. It's more about chops to me than dead idol worship, which I think is alot of Cobain's appeal. Let's be honest, Nirvana were the anti-chops band that made loud and shitty sounding cool. It's no coincidence that the gangsta rap phase happened about the same time. The industry needed it at that point. But at the end of the day, there's not much musically adventurous or interesting about Nirvana. Chops can be overrated when it comes to music. Listen to Joe Perry play Dream On. Then listen to Yngwie Malmsteen's cover with Dio. Malmsteen's is garbage. Because his playing doesn't fit the song. Let's be honest. Nirvana made music that changed the direction of the rock music industry for a time. You don't like it though. I also find a lot of grunge incredibly powerful emotionally. Something a lot of the more trained and talented musicians overlooked. Perhaps it's because this is a Rush forum, and Alex, Geddy and Neil are phenomenal players, but I think virtuosity can be overblown here. A guitar solo needn't be Eruption to be good. A bassist doesn't need to be Jaco Pastorius to play the right role in a band. And you don't need a double bass kit with 14 octobans to keep the beat in a great song.

  16. It would be risky either way. It might be a pesky bootstrap paradox. What if they only wrote 2112 because they remembered someone from the future playing it to them? Now, if you don't go back into the past and play them 2112, they will never write it...and then you create the alternate timeline, where Embrace of Iron, the sequel to Caress, sends them further down the tubes. But then again, they were probably so high after one of their 1968 gigs that they probably wouldn't remember much of what you played them. So if it was a bootstrap paradox, 2112 would become less 2112-like and more drug-addled with each passing loop. Like I said, it's risky either way. Leave time travel to the professionals http://www.movieactors.com/freezeframes5/Terminator27.jpeg "Peart can't be bargained with, Peart can't be reasoned with. Peart doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and Peart will not stop, EVER, until you hear 2112."

  18. A tiny spider, no larger than 3 mm legs included, took up residence in the corner of my PC monitor tonight. I watched it spin its web for about half an hour -more entertaining and fascinating than anything I could watch online. I don't have the heart to destroy the web, much less kill the spider (I would never kill a spider, anyway). All of my daily concerns briefly faded away. It doesn't take much to make my day.

  19. I'd play something from the THEN not too distant future: Working Man. Anything else and it truly might screw up the Terminator Star Trek space time continuum. That is, if I played You Bet Your Life, Lifeson might chuck it all and settle on being his dad's plumber assistant. And I need Lifeson hungry and fiery.
