Dude...if Zumbi can't understand you, then you need to re-evaluate your grammar.6 points

Drop the drum solo entirely? Why don't you just ask Geddy to get a crew cut and a nose job?4 points

I know I'm gonna get some shit for this and as a drummer too but I'd like to see Neil retire the solo that was we could get another 2 Rush songs in there.Im not saying this that the solos sucks I enjoy them but I'd rather hear more Rush songs than a solo.so hears to no solo on the next tour to the people who dig it I'm sorry but I wouldn't worry it will happen its a staple at Rush shows people know when you go to a Rush show your gonna hear the Professer Like Bubbles said in the "Trailer Park Boys" episode "Closer to the Heart" (which was very funny) "come on Ricky Geddy Lee,Alex Lifeson,Neil Peart you know he's gonna do that f*ckin Drum solo!! Haha Please don't start throwing tomatoes at me until I pull up my Plastic sheet.....ok through now!3 points

Just had a proper listen to the great album this track's off, first real play for years to be honest. THIS is what i want more of from Rush now, their fantasy imaginations pushed to the limit and just let go no holds barred. The latest two or three albums, although obviously brilliant, i still believe show a level of mature restraint. Have a loud play of Double Agent, every aspect of the track is loose and totally free, neils lyrics in counterparts in general are superb, less based in reality full of imagination and i want those back too. Counterparts, what a great great album, go back there guys pump it up again forget all the adult realism shit and get funkyy3 points

Agreed. Even a top 5 without Permanent Waves makes the list worthless in my humble opinion.... :)3 points

SInce when could Rolling Stone ever do a proper top RUSH album list? Since when could they ever do any music list properly?2 points

I agree. Dump the dreaded drum solo! its taxing on Neil and is so passe' these days. Unless... he does the ATWAS solo :)2 points

Agreed. Even a top 5 without Permanent Waves makes the list worthless in my humble opinion.... :) In the spirit of Name That Tune, even a top 2 without PeW doesn't cut it.2 points

The feeling I got watching his solos.....in the presence of a god. I would be very sad if he dropped them from the set.2 points

Love listening to Supertramp. One of my favourite non-Rush concerts was Supertramp, Breakfast in America tour. A hot August evening in an outdoor stadium with mountains in the background behind the stage. From the haunting opening notes of School to the finale of Crime of the Century, a truly great show. Even years later I love to sit on the deck on a warm summer evening, drink in my hand, and Supertramp on the stereo.2 points

There are rumours (like there always are) but nothing official. This is what Steven Moffat had to say. “It’s always down to whether there’s a good story. My immediate instinct was that story’s probably done. Not that we saw all of it, but I never thought we should see all of it. I’m slightly tempted, because I imagine Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston would be absolutely hilarious together…” The other rumour floating around is of the return of the Master. Ooooooooooo the Master! I adore John Simm. He was greatin the roll!!! Yeah, I like John Simm. I was a big fan of him in Life on Mars. A brilliant series...I even loved Ashes to Ashes for the genius of Glenister as well. Did you watch The Lakes? That's when I first noticed JS, excellent stuff again...sorry, just had to say that, back to Who now kiddies :cheers:2 points

I don't believe this guy for a second. Maybe Alex is playing a practical joke on us with a sockpuppet account. Alex? If this is you, I think I can speak for all the ladies when I say that you have yet to show the world your man parts. It's not too late, bro. ;)2 points

get everything from 1969-1980 and since opinions on 90125 seem to be split down the middle (I don't like it but many many people do) you might as well get that one as well2 points

Close To The Edge The Yes Album Going For The One Tormato are my favorite 70's Yes studio recordings. Outstanding all of them. Yessongs is an awesome live recording that covers their very early stuff. There are other members here that are more expert on their post 1980 stuff. I know some of it and like some but I wouldn't consider myself expert on it. Hope this helps some.... :) Man. If only they had a decent bassist2 points

Reach out to him and let him know he's not alone. Maybe it'll be good for both of you!2 points

As I've said in chat before (much to the surprise of folks lol),I LOVE all eras of 'Smith. Their hits (ok except Walk This Way), their old stuff is the best, and everything in between. Even their newer releases have gems on 'em, IMO. I have such a deep love for Aerosmith. Happy bday, Steven Tyler!!2 points

I know some of it and like some but I wouldn't consider myself expert on it. Hope this helps some.... :) Those are all excellent albums. I'd suggest getting them in the following order: 1. The Yes Album & Fragile - Two early classics, together they include most of the band's classic 10-minute-ish long songs. And Fragile has "Roundabout," which admittedly I've heard a lot in my many decades of Yesfandom, but I still remember the first time I heard the organ arpeggios over the chorus, and it still sends chills up my spine to think of it. :) 2. Close To The Edge - Possibly their greatest album. My favourite. Their first excursion into a side length song. 3. Going For The One - Skips over two mid-70's albums, Tales From Topographic Oceans and Relayer. Don't get me wrong, I love them both, and they are among my favourite work by the band, but compared to the albums on this list they are pretty challenging. It took me a long time to deeply appreciate both, let alone even understand them. GFTO is a lot easier to digest, with a number of concise (for them) songs and the awe-inspiring 17 minute classic, "Awaken." Enjoy! They are an exciting band to discover.2 points

OMG, yes, definitely! Jokes aside, "a nice personality" really does mean something. You can take two people of similar, average looks and depending on their personality they might either end up being completely gorgeous, or terrifically ugly. We've certainly got us some handsome men :D2 points

Oh c'mon, guys! Give the OP some credit. It's a lot harder to come up with these nuggets of golden prose than our shitty "correct" spelling and grammar :dweez:2 points

I'm quite the private, introverted person like Neil is and it's hard to share my life on a public forum, but feel I may have a worthwhile contribution to this topic. Or at least an experience that may be interesting to some. It's taken me 3 days to actually read the blog (which was fascinating and educational as always) because I have been too excited with the pictures, looking at them over & over, saving them to every pc, laptop, ipad, etc, in the house. Why? Because in so many of the photos he is wearing the hat I knitted and gave to him.......a year and a half ago!! The same one that he gave me recognition for in his March blog of last year! I never dreamed that he would still have the hat, much less still be wearing it, a year later. This speaks volumes for his character. You see, I am not the demonstrative type and words/expressions of love do not come easily for me. But I do try to SHOW people how much I care by doing things for them. Cooking, cleaning, helping out with various needs, and sewing and knitting unique objects which display their interests and personalities are things I do for my family and loved ones. Am sure most here can relate to that. As well as is the case that so often those closest to you will be negative and rebuke or even refuse these expressions of love. There have been numerous times that I've been hurt, having put much thought, time & money into knitting what I thought was the perfect item for a relative only to later find it in the corner of the closet gathering dust, or given to Goodwill, or as my Mother did, returned to me a dozen years later saying she had never worn it. Mentally, I know it's not true but it FEELS like they are rejecting me when they reject that part of me. So coming from this perspective, it feels like Neil is one of the rare folks who seems to appreciate what I did and I interpret it as his way of acknowledging me and accepting my love. It's such a great feeling and I will always hold him in the highest esteem and close to my heart because of this!! (I also knitted 2 scarves, one for Geddy and for Alex and I'm hoping they or one of their family members found a time or two to wear it. If not, I love them still anyway, LOL) This is a very selfLESS act by Neil. And like MMCXII said above, every minute that Neil spends at his drumkit, or writing lyrics to a song, or a book, is a selfless act of love and appreciation he is giving to all the fans and a way of earning money to support his family. That definitely warrants my respect.2 points

Apparently it wasn't a big enough explosion to reach the US! lol. I seem to remember hearing about something happening in the 70's with the music industry that made US labels turn more towards Canadian content. There was also a push for Canadian content on Canadian radio stations and I think there was even stations that made sure their playlists contained more Canadian artists than anything else. Plus the Juno awards started in the early 70's (basically the "Canadian Grammys") Besides all that (or because of it), all the best Canadian music happened in the 70's! BTO, April Wine, Trooper, The Guess Who, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Chilliwack, Prism, Red Rider, Max Webster, Aldo Nova, Triumph, Saga, the Band, Five Man Electrical band.. Thinking of all these bands is really taking me back! Us Canadians grew up with this stuff and it's awesome! ..but I'm digressing a little here lol. Any way, that's what I know about it :)2 points

Ooh good call. Take out Sabbath then. No! Thin Lizzy, Slayer, Motorhead, but not Sabbath? One of those three is getting the boot before Paranoid. seriously. who the hell says "take out sabbath" on a list of classic metal albums No shit. I've played the song live many times...thank God Ozzy left them. I've never made it through an entire album. I know...I suck Humor me brother. Pay attention particularly to track 3 (Planet Caravan), track 7 (Rat Salad) and track 8 (Fairies Wear Boots). That, including the 3 I know you know, brings the number of brilliant songs on this album up to 6. And the other 2 are pretty damn good too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avgMaWsJcRM1 point

Can't see Coachella since that is pretty much where bands that are only accepted by critics play. And that ain't Rush. Or if they were a band that were together for like 4 years, sold 50 albums but somehow we all were so stupid and missed out on their God-like abilities, then Coachella would call them. Besides Rush at a multi-band festival for all the "cool people" would stand out like Kanye West at the Hurricane Sandy benefit concert dominated by mainstream old-white rockers; it just wouldn't fit.1 point
