Many of you are probably wondering who this "GG" person is...I used to be here all the time, helped get the place off the ground, etc. and then life kicked me in the ass. Between personal issues to do with my son who has autism, and work cracking down on internet usage, I am hardly ever here. I hope that changes soon and that I can get to know all the new folks and renew my friendships with the oldtimers. This place is very special to me and I had to stop in tonight to acknowledge that.

Nine years...wow... I posted in another thread, but couldn't pass this one up. Life has dealt some of us some rough blows, and yet, TRF still stands. Much love to my old friends. This was an interesting read for me because my mother let me quit at age 12 after 6 years of lessons and now I hate that I gave it up. My parents forced me to take triangle lessons for years. It was torture.

Just got turned on to this band, having heard some of their music from A Show Of Hands and their self-titled debut album; I was like "Who the heck is this?" So I Googled all over the place, seeing images and song titles, til eventually I thought about forums. Then I saw this one, and Oh Lord..! I saw a great layout, amazing people talking about this band, stunning pics and some of the funniest posts imaginable! Thing was, having never known about forums, I was actually scared, so I decided to lurk for about 6 months. Then I finally went and did it. Been here three years next month. This little kitty found a home.

This topic reminds me of the pre-internet days when some of us would long to meet other SERIOUS Rush fans to share our passion with. Rush have always been pretty popular but back then it was really hard to find the serious fans or even to get inside info. I about **** when a guy that lived close to my Grandmother's house had Exit Stage Left on Laserdisc. I had never seen it before. Nothing beats those days of first discovering the band and getting their records one by one. I think pre-internet was actually more exciting because the band was a little more mysterious.

Mu little brother was always taking forever to get out of the house when we were going somewhere. He was about 4-5 (I am 10 years older than him) and was poking along putting his cowboy boots on. My dad yells at him "Put you GOD DAMNED boots on!!" My dad goes out to the car and I'm waiting for my brother to finish and get him out to the car. My dad comes back in after a minute or two of waiting, looks at my brother and asks "What are you doing"? My brother loosk at him and yells "I'm putting my GOD DAMNED boots on"! All we could do was laugh.

I don't think you can equate acoustic Rush with Feedback...I believe there are a lot of song that would translate well acoustically. I don't think the boys will every do that though. What I would love is an all instrumental set, so many good instrumentals, as much as I love listening to Geddy's voice. Or an all 'B' Side set

Oh, forgot to say: I like Geddy's stage style. I've actually been a bit disappointed this tour that he's chosen to wear kind of dressy shirts over top his usual t-shirts, and yes, it's because these shirts are hiding his fabulous-at-sixty torso. If I was a guy, and I was 60, and I looked that great, I would by showing myself off! :P But seriously, I like Geddy's casual style. He's been meandering a bit into dressier territory, which is cool, but I think the casual look suits him and his style, or maybe I'm just really used to it because he has been wearing the same kind of stage style for a long time now! Actually, Since Test for Echo, since he'd been wearing the same kind of dressier shirts then, too, though in a grungier way. As for Alex - I like his style being more casual, too - he seems like he would be a bit uncomfortable wearing that warm, heavy-looking sport coat or whatever it's called. Also, speaking from a girl's perspective, it makes him look a bit girthier than he actually is - I bet he'd look quite a bit slimmer if he ditched it, but I'm certainly not the fashion police! All the Rush boys can wear whatever the heck they feel good wearing!

I was surfing the great wide Interweb of Youtube, searching for Joe Bonamassa. I found out that he was really open about his guitar rig, and I am a guitar nerd so I thought "cool". Then I found his website and registered on the forum. They are all very nice there, and never calling each other names, so one day I thought "why doesn't Rush have an official message board"? That was weird I thought to myself. So, Google here I come! I think there were some other Rush related places, but this one seemed like a proper place to hang out. Besides, there's some real sweet people here :)
