  1. You apparently don't understand the full force of the ladies you are dealing with. :P :yay: Ged Gals will defend the Gedster! :yay: This thread be pirated by the ladies! Yar! :madra: :yay: I just love seeing Geddy in such a casual setting. He's just this guy, ya know? He's just this guy who happens to play bass like a god and write and play music that touches my heart like no other. 3. For all those who believe there's something wrong with Neil because he doesn't do meet & greets, doesn't like the hero worship from lunatics, etc. take a look at the current news, weather & sports that he posted.... He not only shares a lot about his relationship with his daughter which I thought was really touching on several levels but he shows a picture of him wearing a ski hat....His commentary.... My ski hat this winter, knitted and given to me by a fan on our Clockwork Angels tour. Now that’s cool. And warm! Perhaps I am over reactiing, but the fact that is actually wearing something created and given to him by a fan says a lot that Neil does indeed care about Rush fans, he just is too shy and uncomfortable to accept all the praise in front of all of us... After reading his caption to the photo, I came away with a new respect for Neil the person, not the drummer of Rush...

  6. OMG, this is too exciting, I won't be able to sleep tonight. That is the hat I knit!!! I knitted 2 other items as well, 2 scarves, and presumably (hopefully) Alex and Geddy have those. One is a Body Electric/binary scarf and the other has a steampunk/mad scientist theme. Am thrilled to get this public acknowledgement from Neil, he is too awesome for words.

  7. Kids at concerts annoy me. Don't bring them and then expect me to sit or move out of the way so they can see. That's your problem, not mine. BTW, I've had this happen more than once.

  8. BTW, my advice to Neil for future touring.... Get off the bike, use a luxury PROVOST tour bus and bring Carrie and Olivia along, she's young enough not to be in school just yet and could come along on future tours during the summer months.... that way, he spends more time with his family and Olivia experiences new places and new experiences, seems like everyone would be happy... After all these years of touring by motorcycle I often wonder if he's already biked on just about every back road the USA has to offer....just a thought, not gonna happen...

  20. This is one of my favorite dishes - ever. My grandmother made a mean sauerbraten. She marinated hers for 3 days (which I believe is traditional). Plus, it's a meaty meat dish that has ginger snap cookies in it!! Served with German potato salad and sauerkraut dumplings.... very drool worthy.

  33. I'll never forget my dh's romantic proposal. It went something along the lines of, "so, I was thinking, maybe we should get married," followed my some comments about the greater cost-effectiveness of such an arrangement. He didn't know that I had already decided on that course of action by myself about two months prior. Men—always late to the game. . . Still, it seems to have worked out and here we are 24 years and four kids later.

  34. In n Out burgers are overrated. Don't get me wrong, they're a fine fast food hamburger (although they're so slow there that the term fast food is somewhat of a misnomer - i know, i know, they make everything to order), but they're not so good that they live up to the hype. I mean seriously, people WORSHIP these hamburgers, and they're just not all that. And because people worship them the lines (both drive through and in the store) are ridiculous. Maybe if I didn't have to wait 10 minutes the burgers would seem more worth it.

  35. What the f**k is that? Charles Nelson Riley as a character named Hoodoo on a Sid and Marty Krofft children's program called "Lidsville". Also had Butch Patrick from the Munsters. I knew that was Charles Nelson Riley, but I didn't remember the show. I knew it just had to be related to H.R. Pufnstuf.... :laughing guy: I remember H.R. Pufnstuf, but I've never seen that show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btpd8zg5VWA"In the middle of the summer, in the middle of a park..." Oh my God. It looked like Mark ate the brown acid. Holy crap. What a frightening trip, then all of a sudden it gets happy at the end. I had never seen that show. Was there time for a show after that intro? I seemed to last forever. Bizzaro, maaaan.

  36. Thanks Tombstone Mountain & Librarian, It is much like the quote from the book, "The Notebook", by Nicholas Sparks... “I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough...” Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

  43. It was weird. I was to pick my wife up for our first date at 7:00 and we were going to catch a movie. I had been out riding my bike earlier that day and saw the most beautiful field of wildflowers. So I suggested that we drive by a look at them before the movie and we got there just as the sun was starting to set which really illuminated the flowers in the most amazing way. We talked about which movie to see and agreed that we both loved scary movies, and there really wasn’t any playing. So we went back to her apartment and watched “The Changeling” and “Ghost Story”, eating popcorn and just talking. We talked straight through the night (no funny stuff, I swear) and just laughed and laughed. So, the sun starts to come up and I’m thinking I should head out, don’t want the neighbours to talk, right? I get to the bottom of the stairs and we gave each other a hug and just looked at each other and smiled and didn’t say a word. I’m driving home, bright sun in my eyes and I think to myself, “Wow, I just met my wife”, and start laughing out loud with this big stupid smile on my face. That was nearly 24 years ago and I can tell you, I am so blessed to know that I get to begin and end each and everyday with this most amazing person. We have so much fun, still love watching scary movies and laughing like crazy and just spending hours with one another. I consider myself the most fortunate of men. There are times, when we are out and about, that I just look at her and think, “Man, one day she is going to catch on that she is wa-a-ay too good for me”. To say that I love her falls dreadfully short, as there are no words to express how I feel. Scripture says that “two become one”, if this is true, then she, most certainly, is the better part of me. I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt then and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt now and, yes, I still have that stupid smile on my face.
