  3. I think there are just too many presales and that's why it becomes so hard to find something. You've got so many people trying to get tickets at one time that you don't end up with anything decent until you've tried many times. Personally, I think presales are scams and most of them i've been a part of don't give you anything you couldn't get when the tickets go on sale to the public. The only band i've ever seen do these preseales right is Iron Maiden. They send fan club members a special presale code and the sale starts a couple days before the public on sale date and they always offer the fans the best seats with it. Rush needs to look into something like that because the way their presales have been done this tour has been very poor. If you can get the same tickets for the presale that you can when the regular sale starts then what's the point of having it?

  5. I thought it was to make that area more appealing for the casting director in order to take more in that uhm... area. Well it goes darker apparently after extended use so they bleach the area every so often to make it look better, I saw it on this porn documentary show. You know the ones they show some porn being filmed too but they only show long shots from obscure angles or close ups with the rude bits fuzzed out. Interesting. So they wax and bleach? What if you're already ghastly white like uhh some women are? Then you are good to go and are the envy of porn stars everywhere. Maybe I should think of a career change...

  9. Don't forget Glen Campbell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC8bygMhrvs&list=PL6B1C6C4B1222F377 and I don't think he's using a pick (I couldn't see it before or after the song - slight of hand ) and I can see that he's if is using a pick, he's also strumming with his fingers, so hybrid I suppose... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5vfw5f1CZo&list=PL6B1C6C4B1222F377

  21. Flick of the switch was another great one, the top 2 Johnson albums, Fly on the wall and flick of the switch, after black in black, these 2 prove it they still have it, Fly on the wall was much heavier sounding than flick, songs like Danger, fly on the wall, shake your foundations and sink the pink yelled metal, plus that was my 3 ever concert I went to, and the loudest concert I ever heard, The stage show was the Bell, 2 cannons and the band with a big fan behind them, today I listed to flick of switch, just love this house is on fire, nervous shakedown, bedlam in Belgium and of course flick of the switch and rising power.

  22. I'm so frustrated this time around with buying Rush tickets, for Vancouver. Last show, Edmonton in September, there were two ticket pre-sales that I was aware of: The Citi credit card one, and the LiveNation one. I readied myself for the LiveNation one, and accidently ended up making plans the morning of the pre-sale, and with getting my time zones wrong, I ended up being half an hour late for it and pressed for time as my friend was waitig for me. It took me only a few tries before I ended up finding tickets that looked really good - and four of them - the closest plaza section to Geddy, and second row. I figured, good enough, and merrily went on my way. Boom, ten minutes flat. This time, I've discovered there have been five different pre-sales for the Vancouver show. I got up early after having to work late in order to be on board for the first pre-sale, the AmEx one. [Not that, I realize now, I have an AmEx card....] The tickets popping up were kind of not that great - middle-distance floor seats, middle-of-section by Alex's side, and absolutely nothing on Geddy's side of the stadium at all. After spending an hour rejecting tickets, I gave up and figured to try the next morning's pre-sale, the LiveNation one. After quite a number of rejections, I finally decided on a floor seat, row 14 in the middle, which seemed pretty good. I was still wanting a seat like I had last time, though, and kept searching, but again, absolutely no options were coming up for Geddy's side, at all. After spending an hour and a half, I gave up again, and told myself, hey, I have a decent seat! Be happy! But I still felt I was missing out.... Yesterday was a Ticketmaster and Rock101 pre-sale, which required passwords, which I could not find anywhere after many frustrating minutes of searching (well, serves me right for not being a member of TicketMaster or Rock101, I guess), so I had to give up on that attempt, too. This morning the tickets went on sale to the general public, so I hopped onto the good ol' internet right away, and finally found some tickets on Geddy's side of the stage - but too far away. Row 17. I noticed there was an option for 'Platinum Seating' and saw there were four front-row seats in Geddy's section (in the plaza) for $485 each. What's a fangirl to do?! How did seats I easily got last time become such a nightmare to try to get this time? How could these seats have been gotten by anyone at all, if anyone's experience has been like mine (no Geddy options)? How am I going to be able to show off my air-bass skills if Geddy's not going to be able to see me in the sea of people on the floor? I don't think the seat I have (centre 14th row) is anything to be dissapointed in, for sure, but I'm so frustrated that I haven't been able to get what I wanted. I'm so done with pre-sales and corporations holding off the best seats for their own interests. I think that fans should be able to get good seats, and it shouldn't be such an ordeal to try to do so. I know I will have an awesome time where I will be sitting (who am I kidding - standing!), but I wanted the chance to make eye contact with Geddy again and have him point to me during 'Tom Sawyer' like last time. Ah well. OK, rant over, and now time to build up my excitement! :)

  29. Such a good album. Listened twice at work today. I just about cried when I listened to the title track. All of the songs are super solid, but I just can't get past Luminol. Holy crap what a song! The bass, the guitar, everything is just so good. Seriously, one of the best songs Steven Wilson has ever done, PT or not.

  34. I know you live off of the grid... However I am right in the middle of the state that started it all... so I promise you that yes, it is real. http://www.pinkcheeks.com/ Also, you can already buy bleach for facial hair. Well, holy Jesus Christ... I've seen everything now. Question - Why does it matter what color your asshole is? Isn't that the part of your body where actual shit comes out? Even the most revealing of bikinis wouldn't show your asshole... Even if you walked around completely buck naked, you STILL wouldn't see your asshole. Unless, of course, you dropped your car keys and then you bent over (waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over) and your friend (a very, VERY good friend) used both of his or her hands and spread your buns waaaaay apart. Then, okay, I could see why one desire to have a "bleached asshole." Just wondering... (Off the gridness) And, I guess I could add quite frankly, that even though I haven't actually checked, I can assume that my asshole is brown. Why? Because shit comes out of it every day. Nearly every day... Maybe we should start a new thread, eh?????????????????????????????????

  35. His hands are not an issue at all and the 80's keyboard songs have nothing to do with this. In fact, the 80's songs contain Geddy's busiest and most demanding bass melodies, and he did an awesome job on the first leg of the tour. Also, he has never played in such a high level. Just watch him play the intro to Where's my thing? - he does some amazing chromatic shredding over there. His flamenco picking technique is also on its peak (it's a demanding technique too, it causes a lot of strain on your hand). Geddy's only struggle is on his vocals, that's all. I could not agree more - the synth era songs contain some of his most intricate and difficult bass work. His bass playing on this tour (and really all of the tours of late) has been stellar. His vocs were surely strained on the TMT. In retrospect, it was a really demaniding set for any vocalist. I'm glad he made the right choices for this tour - it's proving to be my all time fave, just got my ticks for the Chicago show - whooo hooo :)

  38. Clearly, the 7 of T'Pol factor. Spock has to explore his, er, human side? Spock: "as first officer of the Enterprise, I demand that all female crew wear these uniforms. They are more aerodynamic thus allowing for greater agility. I will believe that the look will increase morale, as I have been told that they are quite stylish in comparison to the Starfleet issue standard uniforms. That will be all."

  46. I hope that nobody took my last post seriously... I always, always wanted to be a wife. I always wanted a partner, my other half, to get through this life with. When I first moved in with my husband (then boyfriend) it was terrible. We were selfish, immature brats. Actually, we still are in a way. But as time went on, we stuck it through and noticed that together, we were both going through a change. That with the other person, we learned from our mistakes and became better based off of our desire to be a better partner for the other and to just be a good person in general. I think of all of the things my husband has added to my life (like introducing me to Rush!) and the things he says I have added to his life. He's very sweet and I don't think I can imagine being married to anybody else.
