I've really gone on a discography run with these guys again, especially with the reunion coming up. I also remembered how I tried making a list like this a few years ago, but I feel like giving out some respect in some well-condensed posts every so often. I have digested this list into tiers, as well as posting the progress of each album through the list, and posting the whole list's progress so far.

Some of these could definitely change later, but I feel very confident in how I placed most of these.

A couple of tracks I considered interludes into another song shortened the list into 171 and not 173. I included Feedback again, even though ooooo spoilers, it will get dumped again.

In the meantime....

I also spent a fair amount of time watching YouTube vids like this of groups of RUSH fans ranking their favorite and least-liked albums.  I found those discussions interesting, and a common theme seemed to be that one's rankings of albums and the songs within them often depends on when and how a person became a fan.  In that spirit, I'll share my love-of-RUSH history as my list unfolds. 

I'll gladly  start with a song I absolutely hated upon hearing its first note. 

How the band I had grown to love could put out something this dismal baffled me.  The keyboard playing was absolute shit.  The lyrics were trite.  The guitar work was banal.  And it was so stupidly short I couldn't imagine why it was even included on the album - an album with such a great title, such amazing artwork.  Re-visiting it for the ranking process has confirmed one thing:  This song is a crime against prog-rock humanity.

However, I thought it would be fun if I shared my personal ranking of all Rush studio tracks from least favorite to personal favorite. Even with brief descriptions (and possibly ratings?), I won't post daily or too much at a time like I did before - I'll try spacing each ranking out so it keeps people interested.
And, of course, even though I was away from the forum - what's stopping me from revisiting Rush?
As I have revisited each album on repeat, including Feedback - I have found there to be no bad Rush songs - bland, mediocre Rush, sure, but no bad Rush. I really do enjoy most of what these guys put out. 
#173 will be posted... at some point ;)

I will reveal five songs at a time, hopefully every day, without any real commentary.    In large part this is due to not wanting to devote any more time to relistening to some of the more mundane or turgid parts of the catalog.    Hopefully, people will enjoy this list, and I'm sure some will be very critical of it, but it's intended to be a fun exercise and of interest in comparing various reactions to Rush.   As such though, hi_water's list, with his reviews, should be the more interesting of our two threads.

Because it's important to know, my first Rush album was 2112, although I bought it after Kings came out, in late 1977.   The first album I bought concurrent with its' release was Hemispheres.

Unlike hi_water, I am not including Feedback in these rankings.

So here's my take on the worst five songs in the Rush catalog.    The worst will be no surprise to anyone who's read my post.    While many rankings will change over time, I'm pretty confident that #165 won't change.

We all know that without Neil there will never be Rush again.

But we know that Geddy and Alex could write songs... so Rush 2.0 can play them and write with the two old guys!

Brian May and Roger Taylor with Adam Lambert wrote a number of songs that can't be published as Queen, but as Queen 2.0 with young guys performing them?

Same way, Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley has surely a number of songs without a Kiss album since 2012: Kiss 2.0 could play them live with old Kiss songs?

And so on and on... Floyd, Zeppelin...

Many $$$ around, a web worldwide selection to have the best new version of these bands...

Making supertours with 70 yo millionaires onstage (Geddy and Alex being the first to enjoy it) beside young stars for the encores...
Three years from now, the old bands will be memories... or will be 2.0

For me Freewill all the way, because Lifeson's guitar work and Geddy's bass work stand out much more in this song than RB. I always find RB to be a bit overrated and overpraised song on this forum and elsewhere.

So Freewill for the win!!!
