rbichamp
Hi everyone, I had the privilege of attending the taping of Eddie Trunk's "That Metal Show" where Geddy and Alex were the guests. The studio audience was about 60 people which included Bumblefoot from Guns N' Roses! It was a lot of fun and very well organized. Thanks to Eddie Trunk and his staff for making things so loose and enjoyable. ps- I would have posted under the existing thread(s) but they had gone a bit off topic and these pictures would have been missed. Also, the last picture is of Ace Frehley who was in the taping that took place after Rush. -rbichamp http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms1.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms2.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms3.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms4.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms5.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms6.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms7.jpg http://www.rbibaseball.com/temp/tms8.jpg

iluvgeddy05
Just so everyone knows, the person who posted these pix, we work at the same place (completely different dept. though so we don't see each other a whole lot!) He's a good guy and when he emailed me to say he was posting this on here, I wrote back asking what he said. He's pretty busy so there might not be an answer for a while I'll let you know of anything he tells me (or if I'm allowed to say!)

rbichamp
QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Oct 21 2008, 02:29 PM)Just so everyone knows, the person who posted these pix, we work at the same place (completely different dept. though so we don't see each other a whole lot!) Yes it is true, I get to see that license plate in the parking lot. Below is a quick overview of the show for those interested. I think the Rush show might be episode #5 (according to the sheet pictured in the thread). Episode #1 airs November 15 and they approximate one new show each week. So I would guess this means it may not air until December at the earliest. We didn't have to sign a nondisclosure to attend, but I would think that spoiling the episode could change how good natured everything was inside the studio. It will definitely be worth your time to watch since there are a lot of jokes. Show summary Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame related thoughts Rock Band 2 appearance and exposure of the band to a new audience Documenting of live performances on CD/DVD and the stage props General talk about the future Early days/Kiss tours Recent tour rituals Men to woman ratio in attendance at shows Stump The Trunk trivia segment Classic Rock magazine talk Including Europe on recent tours Whatever happened to... White Lion related segment "Catfight" video throwdown segment Tawny Kitaen vs. Bobbie Brown Eddie mentions S&A Live at closing and how unaired outtakes of the show will appear on vh1classic.com after airing. It was a little unclear exactly what will be included in the broadcast and what would be an outtake. I hope this answers some of the questions and I apologize if I am unable to provide additional insight. It was truly an amazing experience and I wish Eddie Trunk and co. the best of luck with this new show. -rbichamp

metaldad
i was at that show also. the security guys were a little overprotective to say the least. you would have thought the prez of the united states was in the building. bag checks then the whole pat down/ wand thing. fun time but mr. trunk asked the bullshit, softball questions [ so, neil has a different way of getting to show's uh?] lame. but it was nice to see them and ace up close. nice pix................. Janie
QUOTE (metaldad @ Oct 22 2008, 07:18 AM) fun time but mr. trunk asked the bullshit, softball questions [ so, neil has a different way of getting to show's uh?] lame. I wonder if it's difficult to interview a band like Rush who has such a long history. They have a bunch of new fans (their popularity has really risen this past year, it seems to me) so do interviewers feel the need to address certain subjects/issues (e.g., reasons why Neil doesn't do interviews, reasons why Neil travels separately) for the new fans? It's irritating and annoying to read and re-read the same info time and time again for fans who have followed the band for 30+ years. Did Eddie ask them anything about solo projects, are they in the studio right now, are they on a "break" or are they in constant talks about new developments, how come no one updates the official web site on a regular basis, why episode #4 of the Barbies hasn't been taped yet, what are they going to have on stage next, are they really going to do a B-sides tour... man, let me interview the guys!
