Our D is playing light years ahead of last season! And without some of our key guys. This team could be special!

I would love for you to be right, and I realize the Panters scored once the game was put away, but I'd really rather see scores in the low twenties, maybe, not the high twenties. Still, if we're in the thirties, I won't be too bothered!

Jaylon Smith - that was a shocker to me. i didn't think they would do it now.

It was overdue really. We're having trouble finding enough plays for all of our LB's and Smith, while a good guy and a great story, is easily the weak spot. His knee just doesn't allow him to change directions well, and there's no reason to overpay for him now. It's a good sign IMO. It means Steven is calling more shots.

If he's playing for GB in the playoffs I'll be surprised, and we'll know just how to take advantage of him.

So the G'aints are better on D than I expected, though I don't know why that should ever surprise anyone. Still, we used and abused them as expected but what continues to surprise is the Cowboys D. Diggs and Parsons get all the press but Randall had I think 9 pressures on the QB. That is HUGE, particularly in the absence of TANK which would multiply his effect. Brown continues to get burned at CB but managed to get a pick no doubt a Diggs contagion.

There is something going on here. Young players buying in, veterans leading by example, and effective coaching. Now if we can just get our center to snap the damn ball right and some good clock management in close games, we might get somewhere.

Whoa, whoa, there, friend -- let's not get ahead of ourselves and expect competence in all aspects!

Good timing for the bye week with Dak's calf strain.

And we even managed to move up in the division standings while healing up. Minnesota should be a close game but the indoor conditions means a fast track for our thoroughbreds.

I am a little nervous about the Vikings game.

It is a classic let down spot schedule wise. That might be why the team is being coy about Dak starting. This is a game we don't absolutely need and I wouldn't be mad about a Cooper Rush start. It might be a momentous win.

Would it be rude to state that I’m pulling for a 0-0 tie? ;)

You're thinking of the pointlessness that is soccer.

One of my earliest memories is watching the Ice Bowl on a B & W TV. I was 3. I bleed blue and silver. I worked at TX Stadium in high school and have a few artifacts from those days. I partied with Harvey Martin at The Village and have met probably a dozen Cowboys. Something tells me that this year the old rivalry will be renewed once again. See you in the playoffs.

The Packers facing Mike McCarthy in the playoffs could be the most intriguing story of the year.
