Playing the original Final Fantasy Tactics and stuck like hell on the Velius fight. Just got the wife the original Resident Evil so we'll be playing that. Plus I found out I'm getting God of War 4 for my birthday tomorrow so there will be lots of playing.

Been playing Shenmue 2 for Xbox and Starfox Adventures for Gamecube. I have to grind it out right now in this part of Shenmue 2.

As for Starfox I just got passed a fairly small frustrating part of the game so I'm happy about that.

I recently played Dino Crisis but that's a long story.... great game though!

I was playing COD Modern Warfare, but the online connection is sooooooo slow with terrible lag (my K/D was dropping like a rock, lol :D)

Anyway pulled this off the shelf....

Great game! I have Doom VFR. Haven't played it in a few months but may bring it out in a week or so.

I just beat Starfox Adventures for GCN then did a run through of Wave Race on N64 and a run through of Starfox 64 right after.

Currently playing Shenmue 3 on PS4 as well.

I finished the remake of Final Fantasy 7 pretty quick. I got it the day it came out... such a classic game. Now I'm working my way through Final Fantasy X another classic :)

During the Coronavirus, while being isolated, quarantined, and on a lockdown, I haven't played any on-line, and video games. Even without the Coronavirus before, too. I haven't liked sitting in front of a t.v. for hours to play on-line games, too. Edited by Derek19

I’ve been playing Super Blood Hockey on the Switch. I think I got it for $1 and it is basically like old NES hockey, except with much smoother and better controls, and lots of blood and fighting!

During quarantine I replayed to 100% Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Far Cry Primal, and Far Cry New Dawn.

Still love those games. Hoping a Far Cry 6 comes soon.

Those games are at deep discount now on xbox. I’ve avoided them as I’m not a huge open world guy, though I’ve become more accepting of them now assuming that next objectives and map navigation are crystal clear. So, with this in mind, which of the main entries do you think I should play....which is the most accessible and easy to play?

I would start with Far Cry 3 or 4 first for sure...

They just announced Far Cry 6 coming in February 2021...

Hmm...I was thinking of 5 because more recent games I’ve played are better with telling you “for the story, go here; for the side mission, go there”. The earlier games sometimes just dumped you off and let you explore. That was ok when I was playing Zelda at age 10 and had all the time in the world. But I play in short increments now, and it could be weeks before I go back to a game, so I need the game to very clearly tell me where I’m supposed to go and what I’m supposed to be doing. Still think 3 or 4? Which one?

Still think 3 or 4. But try 5 if you wish - I found 5 to be more confusing on several fronts, but I was used to the look and feel of 3 and 4 and 5 was very different for me.

You will not be confused as to where you need to go and what you need to do to follow the main mission. Follow the yellow diamond on the map each time to do the main mission. However, you will find (as in many games) that in order to successfully proceed (mainly obtaining the weapons you need), you will need to do other things (hunt for certain animals and craft things, obtain new weapons, etc)

By the way - the villain in Far Cry 3 is Nacho (Michael Mando) from Better Call Saul. https://en.wikipedia...i/Michael_Mando

They announced that Far Cry's 6 villain is Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) from Breaking Bad.

While I saw that regarding 6, I had also read a story which said that the 3 villain was poorly received by critics, but the story assumed I knew that and didn’t provide an explanation.

Hmm...it seems there are lots of versions of these games. Is there any compelling reason to get a “gold edition” or “complete” or “ultimate” edition? I can get the base versions of 3, 4, and 5 for $18.

No, especially if you are only going for the main mission. Usually those include some extra side missions and other bullshit. I'd go for the base version personally, but look into what comes with the gold/deluxe... I never really find it worth it.

I think 3 is the best one. Best map and best oh shit moments near the end. 4 is great too, but I hated the Shangri-La sections and the radio guy. 5 was cool too. I wasn't a big fan of the resistance meter, but you can have a grizzly bear sidekick named Cheeseburger and that trumps anything negative I could say about the game.

Stoked for 6!

Ha! Last time I posted in here was about Far Cry. Playing 6 now! Loving it. Right before it's release I bought a new Xbox because I got tired of waiting to find a PS5 at a normal price. Played Doom Eternal before Far Cry and loved it too. Shit is pretty challenging.

Also me, my wife, and a few friends have been playing Fortnite regularly with each other for like four years. You'd think we'd be good by now, but nope...our old people squad gets stomped out regularly. People are absolute freaks at that game. Still fun though.
