You`re right, goose, whatever has happened to A/S? Is there another meaning for A/S that I`m not woke enough/not QAnon enough to know, so they had to replace it to tied? Tied is a result, not a status after one hole :rage:

For some reason the language was officially changed in 2019. "Dormie" is out as well, replaced with "these guys are so far ahead they can't lose but could still play bad enough to afford their opponents a tie", which is rather catchy, I think.

Whaaat?! I tells ya, when Golfing terminology has changed without my knowledge, I have to conclude that my withdrawal from society has been a success.

I don't know what's happening to golf; I've watched for two straight days and not one reference to a mashie or niblick. Ouimet is rolling over in his grave.

Sounds like somebody`s angling for an invite to watch the singles matches

Pretty compelling singles play going on, with DeChambeau driving greens to put a front-nine squeeze on El Nino, and Scheffler putting a 3-up beat down on #1 player Rahm so far. Morikawa, Cantlay and Johnson are following suit. Europe needs a big turnaround if a Wonder in Wisconsin is to take place.

It`s a great day to watch, Ryder Cup Sunday. There`s nowhere near enough matchplay around at the top level (if you can even count some of the Europeans as top level). It`s such a unique course and awesome to see the views across the water, so I`ll be staying on the sofa even if it gets to 19-9

I think match play is the game's most compelling format, to watch or play. The team outcome is settled, but the day's person to person battles going right now on are still fun to watch unfold.

Morikawa, with a perfect 5-iron on hole 17, sets up a three-foot birdie to seal the Ryder Cup win.

Koepka follows with an even better shot for a near ace! His birdie is given to extend US points to 15 and a half. Edited by goose

Thomas with a perfect pitch gets the win 4 & 3 to get the US to 16.5 pts.

Steve Stricker may have set the new template for how to captain a US Ryder Cup team. With DJ being the oldest player at 37, Stricker's "let them do their thing" handling of a young team was just right.

Bigger problem for Europe will be if you`ve found a permanent fix to the team spirit thing. The giant-killing that is a European win is only possible when your guys are being the archetypal selfish golfer. We need more players to play on the PGA tour all the time to raise the standard and get used to real crowds, and whilst they`re there, try and get your players to hate each other too. Thankfully, we`ll have a massively different team in Italy, without players as old as me.

Bryson vs Koepka in "the match" on November 26th.

Look for fisticuffs between Morikawa and Schaueffle at the first tee in Hawaii this January.

Honestly, I'd rather re-watch Shell's World of Golf Snead vs. Nicholas at Pebble Beach on YouTube.
