For the second week in a row my Fighting Irish pulled off a win they had every opportunity to lose. Toledo our up a great fight, minus the loads and loads of penalties towards the end there.

Holy Toledo! Up 29-24 with 1:35 to go in South Bend!

Unfortunately, the lead only lasted 30 seconds.

:banghead:

The strength of God's will should not be underestimated.

Don't think that's it. But that comment reminded me of what Bob Knight told devout Christian Steve Alford...

''Steve, you always talk about God. Well, I`m gonna tell you something, Steve, God is not going to provide any leadership on this basketball team. He couldn`t care less if we win or not. He is not going to parachute in through the roof of this building and score when we need points."

Auburn beats Alabama State 62-0 and Oklahoma beats Western Carolina 76-0. The losing schools get a lot of money for these games, but it's got to be pretty demoralizing for the players, who likely get nothing. Kind of pathetic really that the schools schedule those games. Then again, Appalachian St vs Michigan...

Also then again Montana v. U of Washington, last week as a matter of fact. :rage:

SO very pleased that Oregon beat some university in Ohio. Despise the suckeyes. Big win for the Pac. REALLY wish Colorado would've found a way to beat A&M.

As I said in a different thread, before you Duck fans start booking tix for the semis, remember that they always lose a game they shouldn't and the committee will try very hard to keep a Pac school out of the final 4.

At the very least, they can't put Ohio in the final 4 without putting Oregon in. Or they shouldn't anyway.

At this point considering Ohio State versus the field to win the Big Ten, I'm taking the field.

  I love my mom! She's really peeved that Pitt vs. Western Michigan is on Charter Sports SE obscure channel instead of prime time. :) Gonna have to get her the Sling sports bundle or something.I think I talked into watching Miami and Sparty. Edited by blueschica

  Good one! I don't really have a horse in that race though- my mom was for Pitt of course but I'm more excited to see Penn St. play Auburn tonight!

I like to see Pitt do well but I'm not one of those people that eats and breathes Pitt. Too much heartbreak

Well, 'Bama did not cover the 14 points. That will surely drop them in the rankings.

Maybe they might lose to another top ten team since they almost lost to number 11!

You know, maybe.

f**k CFB rule makers and officials. The targeting bullshit is killing the sport.

Why so? You dumb enough to lead with your helmeted head, or head hunt, that's intent to injure.

What ya want, wait until a Conrad Dobler plant a guy's foot in the ground and take his knee out with a shoulder to it? Shesh!

The rule might be fine, though automatic ejection especially on a play like this is complete bullshit overreach. But the way it's called is destroying the game.

Indefensible.

Yes the PAC 12 is not off to a good start. My Utes are not doing so good. It really hurt to lose that game to BYU the week before, since we have beat them 9 times in a row over 12 years. Thought they should have had a wake up call after that but the first half against San Diego State was bad, except for a 80 yard punt return for a touchdown. Changed QB's and went to 3 OT but fell short. That gives me hope.

It used to be such fun football. The rivalries still exist, but they don't carry the weight they once had.

Ever since we joined the PAC 12, our rivalry with the Y has waned. Just not as easy to get wound up when it didn't matter if we won or not since we weren't in the same conference. I think this year everyone just expected the U to win but the Y had a decent season last year and they didn't want us to get to 10 wins in a row.

Maybe we can go beat Wazzu now that and the QB drama is behind us.
