I used to do Round and Round in a covers band way back in the 80s!

Tommy Castro and The Painkillers - Two Hearts

I've had their live CD "Killin' It" since last year sometime, but I never really checked it out until the last couple of days while driving to and from work. Yesterday evening I was driving home and had three songs left. This song was second to last, it was the first time I ever heard it, and it became an instant favorite. The whole album is really pretty good. It was released in 2019, and Tommy has quite a catalog which which to select, so it was probably easy to assemble ten really solid Blues/Rock/Soul songs for the set.

I'm learning to play bass, little by little.

Doug Sahm - It's Gonna Be Easy, Your Friends... and a whole lot of other Doug Sahm songs/songs covered by him. (Sahm was a genius. I totally love the Atlantic sessions, but others, too, like The Return of Wayne Douglas.)

Jimmie Vaughan - Boom Bapa Boom, Just Like Putty (a nice, delicate song), Two Wings, Strange Pleasure (the song), Positively Meant to Be, Motor Head Baby. (By the way, George Rains' shuffle on these two albums, Strange Pleasure and Out There, is top notch!)

Been listening a lot to The Best of ZZ Top (1977) lately.

I've never really delved deep into their catalog before, but after watching their documentary on Netflix, decided I should.

"Beerdrinkers and Hellraisers" just friggin' rocks! Can't get that song out of my head right now.

Been re-listening to their album "Eliminator" a lot lately too.

Weezer - The World Has Turned and Left Me Here

One of my favourite songs. Such emotion in that 1.

It's a fun one to play for sure!
