Anyone have a lamp with USB port in the base?

Wasn't sure of the best place to ask this but here goes!

Does anyone have one of those lamps with a USB port in the base, for charging things? We need some new bedside lamps in our guest room and it seemed like those might be handy. I have read a few places that it can be just a trickle charge, though, and not really useful for charging.

Anyone have any experience with one?

Saw them in a couple of motel rooms while traveling, about 5 years ago. Used them overnight to charge my cellphone. Very handy!

Thank you both for the Ottlite suggestion! I have a bigger one on a stand for when I sew dark fabrics but I didn't know they made the smaller ones. Sounds like a good choice! :hi:

I got one from Costco. It has a USB port in the back but also wireless charging for my phone.

Made by Ottlite.

I got the same type from IKEA, but no idea who makes it. On the plus side I didn’t have to put it together and it isn’t a piece of shit, so that’s good. I believe it is 5w charging for the wireless, not sure about the USB port as I’ve moved almost entirely to USB-C and don’t charge much of anything with USB anymore.

Why not just change the outlet to one with a built in USB?

I have that too. It's a good idea to pay extra for high quality ones though because some of the cheaper units don't like too much load (both usb and both plug sockets in use).
