Is there a band that you're looking to investigate? Maybe you always meant to but just never got around to it?

Funny you ask Treeduck

I was over at my buddy's house on Friday and he had on Lou Reed's New York. I'm very aware of Lou but never got into his music. New York was a very good listen so I'm going to venture further into Lou's catalog.

What a great song and it was cranked loud.

So many things, I'm costantly trying to get to things I haven't gotten to yet, at my own pace.

Yeah. YouTube is how I find out about new music, and new old music. Pretty easy to click, give a listen, and either dive deeper or make the quit exit.

ETA: YouTube has some outstanding prog mixes that I listen to frequently. I like extended periods of prog, but there are few prog bands that hold my interest for an entire album. So mixes are perfect for me.

Lou`s awesome, New York being a real gem. "Ecstasy" and "Set The Twilight Reeling" are the two other solo records I really like, they are similar to New York in terms of accessibility. If you go back to the early and mid 80s, Lou was very hit and miss. I prefer his late work to the 70s albums like "Transformer" or "Coney Island Baby", but that`s not the common view.

So many! And there are a few ones you asked me about recently. These ones come to mind: Uriah Heep, Budgie, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Krokus...

I've not checked out any Krokus myself yet, but the others you mentioned are definitely worth checking out

This forum has turned me on to tons of great stuff. There are a lot of times when someone will post something about a band, and maybe a video, and I will generally want to check it out.

This is what makes this forum a great community - there's a lot of good sharing of cool stuff.

solo McCartney - I'm familiar with Ram, Venus And Mars and Band On The Run since I have them on vinyl.

Lou Reed

This week I've been getting into Bad Brains and Faith No More as far as first listens go. Fitting that the late Mosley was the lead vocalist for both bands at one point. I've also been getting into 70s Judas since I have British Steel and Screaming For Vengeance on vinyl.

I'd never heard of Atomic Rooster until I read about them here and then elsewhere in the same week so I did some Youtube listening. They weren't that great, imo, but I'm always on the lookout for new music. I get emails from Paste and they frequently have new songs and albums to listen to. I discovered Coriky via that site.

Several months ago I started to really dive into Sparks. I hate the fact I haven't been enjoying them for the past 40 years. Better late than never.

I listened to Sparks in college. There are gems in their early albums. I'm not familiar with their releases after 1979.
