Sorry, I waited as long as I could! :hockey:

Sorry you didn't get the chance to see the banner go up.

Thank you! Your words mean more than you know to me! Be safe my brother from another mother!

Sure, easy for you to say after beating my team in the semis last season!!! :rage:

Yeah that is how the past year has been! I finally get a chance to start this beloved thread of mine & completely miss the opportunity. It is amazing that every thing that has transpired in the last few months that any one of us would go bonkers for any semblance of normalcy. To make a short hockey story long, I was so looking forward to seeing live Lightning hockey. The Lightning made an announcement that they would let fans in at a 23% capacity. So out of 19,000 + seats roughly 3,800 available. They did the best to make it as fair as possible for season ticket holders (STM) to get a chance to secure seats for 28 home games. However only a max of 14 games in 2 packages and 7 games in 3 packages were available. So everything went based on STM tenure. Friends I know that have been STM since the beginning windows opened up just before noon. My window (STM for 4yrs) 7:10 pm! My seat mates who over the last few years have become great friends window was at 5:15 (out of their brain on the train ;) informs me there's slim pickens & had no luck! By the time my turn between glitches, password errors, reboots, being stuck between two cell towers & no reply from my member rep. Notta! Zip! Zilcho!! No seats left! So disappointed I was. So being resigned to not being able to secure seats I was literally deflated! Then the next day I get a text from my aforementioned seat mate says there was a limited amount of seats "re-released!" I quickly log in and get 2 of the last 4 seats available!!! I only get seats for a 7 game package including the home opener. Being so stoked I will get to see live hockey again, the Stanley Cup Banner raised & of course the Cup itself. I am woke by my better 1/2 stating "The Lightning have closed Amalie Arena until further notice! No fans allowed. I have been so bummed yet understanding. I have been so busy with work and consider myself very blessed to be so as I know so many are wishing they could be in that position. Any how Thank you 73 for offering for me to open this much loved thread of mine. I hope you & yours are doing well well and all are safe! Same goes for all of Y'all out there! So now I am watching me Bolts pasting the Blackhawks (sorry Blackhawkrush) in a euphoric melancholy state of being!

Lets GO Lightning!!

Shoot! I hope your area positivity rate goes down so you can see games and see the Cup!

Thank you! Yes we all hope they will. Unfortunately for our state the balance of keeping healthy and being able to survive financially has become a battle ground that has matched if not exceeded the insanity that has gripped our nation as a whole. I am more than thankful that all that needs to be right with the health of our family is right where it needs to be! Truly the most important of all. Also more than thankful I have been able to work, however commuting 150+ miles a day takes it's toll. However still feeling more blessed than forsaken. I hope all is well with you and yours! Be safe!

Blues up 2-1 over the Avalanche.

Time to turn it around. I wanna see MacKinnon break the sound barrier he's so fast

Ooh, not so much! Way to start, Blues! That's the way to begin as you mean to go on! That was unexpected and felt like a necessary way to kick it off after the egg-laying of the round robin last year.

On to the the next one!

(This western division is gonna mean a lot of late nights, ugh -- I'm really more of a morning guy. Maybe I'll just record the games and watch them the next morning!).

With no people being able to be in arenas to watch any hockey games in person, it's every city, and province. Hopefully, that will get to change sooner, than later. We haven't known anything else. On Sportsnet, I watched the Toronto Maple Leafs', and Montreal Canadians' game from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Edited by Derek19

Zdeno Chara, who recently left the Bruins to sign with the Washington Capitals after 14 years as Boston's captain.

This Hawk season will probably look like my apartment building last Friday night when it caught fire. I am stuck in a hotel without NBCSN. I will try to find a feed on my phone tonight.

Oh no! So glad you are ok. That really sucks, hope you were able to save some stuff. Lousy start for the year. :eh: :hug2:

Blues looked much more ready to play, Avs were a bit off. Once they get Toews used to playing with Makar, that will be a killer tandem.

Tonight saw a bit of Knights and Ducks, with new captain Stone they were looking good. Lehner in goal, steady (still sucks he's not a Hawk). So glad to have so many games to watch, looks like they are doing two games in the same location over a couple of days. Tampa and Hawks again Friday and Blues at Avs too. :dweez:

Gritty wins again tonight, in a game with a hat trick. Unfortunately, it was made by Travis Konecny for the Flyers. Pens lose, 5-2. :(

On a brighter note, Vitek Vanacek made his NHL debut in net for the Caps. Normally I don't care about them, but the Caps farm team is near us in Hershey and until Covid hit we went often and saw him play quite a bit for the Hershey Bears. He made 28 saves and Caps won over the Sabres, 2-1. He did good!

Avalanche absolutely steamrolled the Blues tonight, 8-0 with a lot of those being power play goals. That was lit

I think the Avs were 5/7 on the pp. Pathetic. That was the kind of score you get in youth soccer, not the NHL! We'll see what the response is.

Seems like most of the teams who lost on Wed ended up winning the second game: Avs, Red Wings,Devils, Rangers and Coyotes. Chalk it up to being rusty perhaps? Didn't have the usual warm up games in pre-season so some teams weren't ready for first game. Isles looked great and then Rangers went on a tear today. Watched the Coyotes beat the Sharks and they were skating much better than the first game. Avs looked more like I expected in the second game but didn't expect it to be so one-sided, Blues were not the same team as on Wed. Lots of first time goals today: Thornton got his first as a Leaf, the new kid Sharangovich for the Devils wins it in overtime. Stuetzle gets his first for Ottawa, and Kaprizov for the Wild.

Hoping Hawks will be better against Panthers Sunday.

You didn't get your wish. Five goals given up again by the Hawks. I was going to record this season on VHS tapes, like I did the last 12 years or so, but now I'm kinda happy my place burned down and my recording days are over. I mean, what's to memorize? This team is going to suck till 2031.

Panthers 5 Hawks 4 in OT. I finally got to watch a Hawks game this season. You can see the lack of Toews and Dach on the team. Kane's goal brought back some good memories. Lankinen was my pick from the experimental trio of goaltenders. I hope he gets the start on Friday against the Wings.

Hey, not related to hockey, but I'm so sorry to hear about your fire! I hope everyone is okay and coping.

If you need any Blues memorabilia replaced, I'm sure I could help out!

(I've also got an Indonesian flag you could turn upside down to fly as the Polish flag, if you need one of those . . .)

Thanks for the well wishes. As far as the memorabilia goes, I've had enough of the color "blue" lately. ;) And the Indonesian flag doesn't have the White Eagle on it. :wtf:

I missed it, sounds like it was sucky. Kane is still soldiering on but he missed the shootout, bet he is getting tired of having to try to win it for the team. Kubalik needs to kick it in gear too. Wish we knew what was wrong with Toews, doesn't sound good to have no prognosis and they are keeping tight lipped about it. I hope you are wrong about 2031...that's grim.
