Quite the list of Hall of Fame candidates this year, eh?

https://www.profootb...-class-of-2021/

So, who do you like?

What is the limit on how many can get in per year?

Jake Delhomme, really? Maybe his career numbers were better than I would suspect.

So many great names, though.

Peyton Manning

Clay Matthews

Tony Boselli

John Lynch

Reggie Wayne

Those'd be my picks . . .

I'm going to watch my first NFL game of the season tomorrow. I want to see this Josh Allen that I've been hearing aboot lead a violent beatdown of the Miami Dolphins. 1:00pm, on CBS I believe.

The Dolphins are going to blown out today. Their fans might want to hope none of the 4 realistic scenarios that put them in the playoffs don’t happen. Because then they’ll get humiliated in the playoffs. Yet again.

I hope you have Sunday Ticket so you can watch some meaningful football today instead of the Jets-Patriots.

The Dolphins fan ridiculing the Patriots fan about meaningful games.

If all I had to watch today was the meaningless Jets Patriots game I'd probably scan the TV listings to see if there was some soccer on.

You should watch the Dolphins Bills game. If the Dolphins win they’re in the playoffs.

Just our luck, the Bills are coming off a bye week.

Getting nervous? You should be. Your favorite team is doing what they've done for a generation. Sh*tting the bed when it counts.

New year, same old garbage "Fins."

Brady's going to the playoffs again, though. They must have a great system in Tampa.

The Sun-Sentinel had a field day reporting on the Dolphin Demise. General screwups, "who do we consider on draft day ?" " WTF happened? ", etc. Fins beat writer Orlando Kelly had a good piece questioning if Tua is the end all an be all he was touted as. As you said m8, same old garbage.

Added: Dolphins OC Chan Gailey gets it in the ass. Fired.

Edit: Apparently the information about Chan Gailey being fired, which I saw go across the ESPN bottom screen ticket while lunching at a bar, had not been fully checked out, and was put out by mistake. He apparently was NOT fired. ESPN announced they "regret the error."

" Come on ya motherf--er get your right foot right! "

Wednesday Chan Gailey announced he was designing as Dolphins OC.

NFL limits it to 5 inductees per year.

Zach Thomas

Charles Wolfson

Peyton Manning

Calvin Johnson.

Charles Woodson, Calvin Johnson and Peyton Manning seems like he strongest players to me. The other two spots would be up for grabs. Edited by goose

Wondering if folks here feel like the Browns are getting the shaft from the NFL by being forced to play with a bunch of guys and Head Coach out due to Covid? Is it yet another example of the league helping the stealers as they've done numerous times in the past or is it simply a matter of no consistency in the approach to Covid (Broncos had to pay with a WR at QB but Ravens got rescheduled several times).

The league has maintained it will not reschedule any game, including a postseason game, for competitive reasons, only medical. However, Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL’s chief medical officer, raised a red flag with his comments Thursday afternoon.

COVID isn't medical?

As for the Ravens scenario earlier this year, they didn't exactly get off easy.

The Ravens were missing a dozen starters and key contributors, including 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, in Week 12 despite their game against the Steelers being rescheduled three times.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/12/29/nfl-will-not-reschedule-games-for-competitive-reasons-in-the-postseason/

In the above link, the NFL went on to state...“I think it’s a very slippery slope to either read into or to start making decisions motivated by competitive balance,” NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said in a videoconference Tuesday. “I think once you start making those decisions, it becomes very difficult to manage and also very difficult in order to determine when to stop.

A valid point, I suppose. Policy-wise it would seem reasonable to make a distinction between the playoffs and regular season, but re-scheduling a playoff game seems more challenging. There's no replacement game for TV, for example, and then there's short rest for the team that advances. In the end, preventing COVID spread is a responsibility of a team and its players, and the consequences of failing to do so have been clear.

What do you think, in the end?

What would keep a team from making such a claim in a week or two? Fcuk 'em, play the games as scheduled.

Yeah I tend to agree that the games should be played as scheduled but man, I so despise the stealers and cannot stand seeing them get yet another advantage gifted to them as I've seen happen over the years numerous times.

Could have been up six. Up by three against these Bills wouldn't make me feel comfortable.

FGs aren't gonna beat em.

Also hope this isn’t the last we see of Philip Rivers.

He's a fierce competitor, and he has many mouths to feed at home.

True but if I had to guess Rivers has probably been smart with investing and saving his money.

Seahawks Rams was a great game. When Wolford went down, I thought the Rams were done, but their rookie RB Akers carried them through...till he got hurt. The Rams defense kept timely pressure on Wilson...and that puck six was a great read. Goff looked mediocre most of the game, but made a couple of really good plays to make a difference. A nice team effort. Edited by goose

and that pick six was a great read.

Darious Williams' pick-6 reminded us Packer fans of Al Harris' pick-6 of Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck in Overtime, in the 2003 Playoffs. The pass play was quite similar, to the same side of the field. Williams even has Harris' jersey number of 31.... :laughing guy:

I have one thing to say about Pete Carroll since the death of Paul Allen, the only person he's ever answered to in Seattle:

"absolute power corrupts absolutely".

If I'm Wilson, I want out yesterday.
