Is this really the original kit, as photographed on the cover of ATWS? Tempting!!

The holy grail for diehard fans........Neil bought this just before going out on his first shows ...US/ Canada.

Not knowing the current owners situation......but man,if I owned it ......it would be a very painful sell

Does anyone know if this chrome Slingerland set is the same as the Fly By Night video?

Yes..........that kit was used from FBN up to ATWAS............Neil towered over the kit in that promo.......eventually Neil would be consumed by his kit

Does anyone know where the Fly by Night promo was filmed....?....Background Looks like whatever was available they used

has an $80,000 opening bid so that should lessen the pain!

Well yesterday it said current bid $80K and today there is no bid? I have to say as an aside, I follow a lot of auctions, and the Bonham's site is the most tedious, slow and hard to figure out site I have ever been on!! Not sure i would have chosen them to sell my stuff.

I don't know if it's going to ever go for that amount......... the economy right now says no.Again some well to do

that has more money to burn....yeah.....are they going to be a Rush fan?........investment?...that will be their number

1 priority........something like is a real niche ......and as time goes by..............................???

I agree. For one thing starting at $80,000 is just dumb. Start it low and get some bidding going. there is nothing like the psychology of not wanting your bid topped by someone else.

According to WTFOTE, it was filmed in a school in Atlanta Georgia while they were doing a short residency at Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom in January 75.

The castle backdrop was already in place on the stage for another production.

$ 80-120,000 ......? Overtly optimistic ........last sale was about 30 grand?

don't get me wrong,I would love to sit behind the kit for 5 minutes

Capitalizing on death. Happens all the time.

it should be put in a museum of some kind tbh

Wow!..........ending bid 1/2 a million dollars?......I know his passing was a factor but,....unbelievable!...........nice little profit for the previous owner.....damn.......

You know this ain't no FAN.....imho........just another investment for some well to do .......maybe Alex or Geddy snatched it?

probably going to end up locked in a vault ...

Wow! The winning bid was $500,312 !! Lots of guesses in another group I was in that Dave Grohl or Taylor Hawkins has bought it. I wonder if we will ever find out??

Well I certainly missed out on a pretty good investment. I am very happy for Dean. He did great things with that kit. I am amazed at the final price...WOW! But one of the strange results of this pandemic is that the collectables market has gone through the roof. There is a lot of devastation out there, and a lot of people making tons of money.
